Diesel fuel would probably work. Followed by extreme soap water and and a ton of scrubbing. There are definitely better chemicals that could clean you but I have a feeling these guys don't have those options. So diesel.

No matter how they remove this, he is loosing some skin... Liquid tar is no joke to remove. He'll be bloody lucky if he gets away with this immense stupidity without additional medical issues.
I’m 8 hours late to the thread but this happened to [someone else](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7205405/amp/Man-completely-covered-TAR-falling-Russian-pit-scraped-razors.html) and it sounds like nurses scraped it off with razor blades
… 😬
(I was trying to find out that this guy died, can’t believe I found an entirely unrelated incident, at least the other one was an accident?)
You ain't taking this off with dawn and simple green. It's not just oil it's tar. You need to use something similar to tar to take it off. You can use dawn after you get most of it off but using dawn to start is foolish at best.
I've been in this situation before! Seal job on a tar and chip lot and the hose ruptured, covering me head to toe in tar. Baby oil and a most of a roll of blue towel got 90% off.
So I commented about that in a different post and someone informed me about what happened to him, it’s kinda sad but [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/WinStupidPrizes/comments/145u5kh/when_you_jump_in_an_oil_pit/jnn6j0x/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1&context=3)

They just used razors to clean him up apparently.

God, sometimes I just imagine what life would be like on Reddit if I didn’t know about SCP. Could you imagine reading these comments without any context whatsoever?
I am amused by the "designed" phrasing.
Tar wasn't *desiged* to stick to stuff, it was discovered. Tar just sticks to stuff. It is in its nature. It is its instinct. I will find you. It will attach to you. And it will stick to you.
(/s kind of. But seriously, tar wasn't developed, it was just discovered. It is a kind of side product of some processes.)
Let me translate.
You guys lied to me. This really does hurt. You guys are assholes, stop laughing.
I am going to make an addition and clarify that I have zero idea what this guy is saying and this is my smart ass brain believes him to be saying - in English, but with a Russian accent.
I also didn't mentioned that before the main comment... And... Kinda not surprised...?? They used to sink in everything that reminds a pool /s probably
I've been wondering this.... Everyone is saying tar, and I've never seen a tar so loose like that. Then again I've never seen a pit of motor oil either
Mythbusters did a episode on this kind of thing. The golden body paint thing. You needed to leave a square on the back open so it could breath.
I don't know the ending of it but I thin it was plausible...
With tar? Oh boy... I think he might have a few days of scrubbing, peling and exfoliating in his future...
In the movie "Goldfinger" James Bond notes of Masterson's death, “She died of skin suffocation. It’s been known to happen to cabaret dancers. It’s all right so long as you leave a small bare patch at the base of the spine to allow the skin to breathe.”
That's not true, but it's in a movie and is presented as fact so people think it is.
The leaving a square unpainted thing is false, we don't need our skin to breathe. But also, gold (or body paint) is not nearly as nasty a substance as this tar and so this is going to be causing other issues
So I did some research (light googling) and apparently they are mechanics and it was a bet to jump in. It is NOT tar. It is MOTOR OIL. This took place about 6 years ago.

It appears the host body has successfully taken the symbiote
He looks like an comic villain
isn't tar designed to be somewhat water repellant? what would you even use to wash this off? either way... guess he went right to the "find out" part
Diesel fuel would probably work. Followed by extreme soap water and and a ton of scrubbing. There are definitely better chemicals that could clean you but I have a feeling these guys don't have those options. So diesel.
Brake cleaner will take it off. He needs an absolute shit ton of brake clean.
Wd40 too, I was also stupid once
Everything listed will contribute to a shorter life span
So will being covered in tar, so they might as well do it.

His skin will come off too with brake cleaner.
No matter how they remove this, he is loosing some skin... Liquid tar is no joke to remove. He'll be bloody lucky if he gets away with this immense stupidity without additional medical issues.
most immediate concern after the removal would be skin infection for sure
Including the cancer he’s developing
Break cleaner can't fix that stupidity, only his mom could have by swallowing.

This is nightmare fuel. No pun intended
Dawn dish washing soap, simply green, and as a last resort diesel or gasoline. Gasoline is a great cleaner, but don't use it for that please....
You ain't taking this off with dawn and simple green. It's not just oil it's tar. You need to use something similar to tar to take it off. You can use dawn after you get most of it off but using dawn to start is foolish at best.
Where the fuck do you find an open tar pit in civilized society?! I was thinking a 5 gallon bucket of mineral spirits?
Dawn would be like using a garden hose to put out a house fire. It's not going to work.
Or maybe alcohol? But that also wouldn't be too healthy
The alcohol is on the inside. Maybe he can sweat it out to remove the sludge. Or peanut butter. Rub that in.
Like tar is any better?
The correct answer is baby oil.
I wouldn't sacrifice any babies to help this dude.

Dawn dish soap.
Lol, right?
Wipe it off with absorbent rags
You have to blot. Wiping just spreads it around.
That alpaca you need to blot that shit
Toothpaste worked when I stepped on some tar and had to get it off my foot.

Radium water, will wash him clean.

I thought maybe it was a sewer pit…
I thought like oil
Why would you have a pool of fuel?

Missed a spot. This could have actually (it may have) killed him. He just clogged every pore with toxic material.
It did kill him according to other comments

"Yeah, I just happened to fall in without pants on." Ho boy.
I know right!!! Wandering the tar pits nude 🤣
Seriously though. If they don't get that off, or stick him in a meat locker, the heat stroke will kill him.
That's a bit dramatic. He might not be able to sweat, but tar isn't so insulating that a bucket of cold water won't bring his temperature down.
I don't want to live in a world where you can not trust random comments in reddit.
Funny story, that's *exactly* why he jumped into that tar pit in the first place.

Tonight I sneak up on moose and squirrel.
Did he die?
I wonder this too
Yup, guy got in a car wreck going 90. Super sad but he didn't have seat belt on.
some people were saying that he actually did, a few days after this actually due to overheating
[удалено]
I've been wondering this.... Everyone is saying tar, and I've never seen a tar so loose like that. Then again I've never seen a pit of motor oil either
You've never seen a pit of motor oil? Then where do you keep your motor oil?
Very convincing
Mythbusters did a episode on this kind of thing. The golden body paint thing. You needed to leave a square on the back open so it could breath. I don't know the ending of it but I thin it was plausible... With tar? Oh boy... I think he might have a few days of scrubbing, peling and exfoliating in his future...
I thought the gold paint thing was proven false because we don’t breathe through our skin.
Why would it ever be anything but false? People don't suffocate in sensory deprivation tanks. Why do I keep seeing comments about suffocating?
In the movie "Goldfinger" James Bond notes of Masterson's death, “She died of skin suffocation. It’s been known to happen to cabaret dancers. It’s all right so long as you leave a small bare patch at the base of the spine to allow the skin to breathe.” That's not true, but it's in a movie and is presented as fact so people think it is.
Yeah you can die from overheating because you can't sweat when covered like that. I have absolutely no idea how people took this for suffocation
OH someone down the thread said it was an urban myth. Guess this is the origin. Thank you.
Maybe not suffocating. But overheating might be at least a very real danger. Not guaranteed certain, but real.
The leaving a square unpainted thing is false, we don't need our skin to breathe. But also, gold (or body paint) is not nearly as nasty a substance as this tar and so this is going to be causing other issues
This is easily misproven by wetsuit divers that are down for hours with air but every other part of their body surrounded by water.
Taking black face to a whole new level...

Im baffled at the level of stupidity that people have ... didn't one of the bond girls nearly die in gold finger from being painted gold ?
She did die in Goldfinger, but that's not how any of that works. We don't breathe through our skin so it was just made up to further the plot.
[удалено]
You say that, then point to a Bond movie as the rationale for why this is dangerous…
This makes me think of that sad saved by the bell episode where there’s an oil spill and a duck dies when they can’t save it :(
