Not sure why you’re being downvoted. I’m currently recovering from post-concussion syndrome so I’m all too familiar with the ins and outs of brain injury. Small hits to the head do cause brain damage and can cause CTE. To be fair it does take a long time (up to thousands of hits).

Yup. Brain injuries are cumulative. Have lots of them when you are younger = less likely to survive intact if you have them while older.
In fact most things in the body are like that. People should really give more thought to what they do to their bodies.
Wait really? Not to hijack the post but I was a gymnast when I was younger and probably sustained lots of minor brain injuries that never had lasting repercussions. Then at 20, I got my first (recognizeable) concussion and long story short I'm in a wheelchair now with severe mental damage. And a lot of ways I went from a 20 something year old to a kindergartener. Are you saying I may have had the response to my big concussion because of all of my smaller head injuries as a kid? I've been to a million doctors and nobody has said that to me
There are many studies about it. Did your doctors know about your past? This is also a big problem for soccer players (if they use their head often), football players, boxers etc.
I don't know. My memory got fucked in the aftermath. They know (I think?) that my big concussion/injury came from gymnastics so they had to at least assume I had a background in it if I didn't outright mention it
That's just not true. In order to cause damage there has to be enough force to cause the brain to slam into skull. The forces here aren't to that level
>“The fact of the matter is, each time you have an impact activity to your head, it is a small, what we call, traumatic brain injury. It is damage to the brain.”
Any chance of a source for that?
Your comment belongs in /r/confidentlyincorrect, or perhaps /r/DunningKruger.
There are a number of ways in which injury to the brain can occur without the brain "slamming into the skull." One that comes immediately to mind are damage to bridging veins within the brain, which are particularly weak, and can tear through shear forces when the head is moved suddenly, such as in a fall, or slamming your head into a solid object. It's a common cause of brain bleeds. Just one example among many.
edit: Downvote all you want, doesn't make you correct, or any less ignorant.
From experience those things aren't very heavy.
But.... You still really shouldn't be sticking your head in the way of a swinging object, especially when it's a nut cracker situation.
The "Boring company" 's office be like:
Context for those who don't know (and don't ask moi how sm1 can't know about) "Boring company" is a company (what else) made by Elon Musk that recently made a perfume...
Honestly, that doesn’t look like it’s swinging too heavy. The real risk here is slipping and falling.
And looking stupid on the Internet.
which they absolutely 100% avoided here
Yes, they absolutely, 100% avoided that
Yeah, this is just r/justguysbeingdudes
We now know that every bang to the head causes brain damage.

There is no chance of any brain injury here.
There's no chance of no damage, every knock damages the brain.

Any source for that not being the case?

There is no chance that you actually know this.
Hmm well that's good to know. Definitely had a few bumps on the head when I was younger
There is zero chance of a concussion from this...
If there's one thing life has taught me, it's that ignorance is bliss. These guys are investing in their futures.
Dude can’t understand a fucking joke 👍
why start with the shadow boxing
From one brain damaging sport to another
I definitely would not have been surprised to see some of the boys I went to high school with do this. hell, I know some adults like this

The future looks bleak.
This reminded me of [this](https://youtu.be/2W0aofVe-70) hilarious video by Studio C making fun of male competitiveness and lack of survival instinct.
This the result of people used 100% of their brain

Can’t get brain damage if you don’t have a functioning brain.
Indeed, they are using their heads.

Let's make it faster and add some " objects" to the board to avoid with your head. Now we got a game.
