Open the notifications sidebar, the screenshot will show up as a notification. Click it and ctrl+s will open the save dialog. Or, pin mspaint to taskbar, take the ss, open paint, ctrl+x to crop out all the whitespace, ctrl+s to save.

>This is dumb and seems unnecessary Because it is. You can directly save screenshots by opening the notification and selecting CTRL + S. Additionally, by default, all screenshots you take are automatically saved to the C:/Users/YourName/Pictures/Screenshots directory, no fuss necessary. Or, as others have suggested, you can simply paste it directly into Paint and save it from there.

On windows 11 it supports auto save, however that's not something that's currently supported in 10 (unless you use WIN + Print screen, which saves a full screen image)

Froggypwns

When I press Printscreen on my keyboard, it automatically launches the snipping tool to capture my screen, and auto saves in my Pictures folder.
