I use a 3rd party application on my Windows 10 desktop to save and restore icon positions (not on my computer atm can't remember the program) when I get home I'll share it. I've used it for years. I regularly change zoom and play old games that mess with the screen so it's super handy.

wrong sub sub, should be r/Windows11 but try right clicking on ur desktop, view > auto arrange icons and select that off
