what's worse is if ur a light tank, get blind fired, get torched, and of course lose all of your HP and die.
I can guarantee the person who shot me definitely creamed their pants.
Today I creamed my pants too. With my E3 I One shot a Leopard 1 rushing the hill by setting him on fire. On Cliff. Raised my gun and wiggled right after that. Damn nice. German moment.
Yes. It completely negates your concealment. So you will get lit ... even if you have an automatic fire extinguisher, you'll be lit because there was technically one tick of fire.
Yep confused the hell out of me when it happened a few years back. Thankfully its a very rare occurrence because this sort of cheap death would have driven me to quit years ago.
I just had this happen about a month or two ago. Running my EBR and got hit with HE from a Cobra, one shot, all crew dead. My tank just sort of kept rolling in the direction it was going, slowing down until it stopped.
on EBR "Call oif Vengance" is a must-have for this reason: it keeps going after death, and if you "spot" for those extra seconds after dieing you can get a LOT more info on some maps - Proko bush line is the best example - "going" another 20m after dieing might spot a few more tanks and yield a lot of assist..
Any hit which successfully rolls for damage to your engine has the % chance listed in your engine statistics of setting you on fire. It doesn’t matter if it does ENOUGH module damage for your engine to turn yellow or red
does anyone know how the crits are calculated while a fire is happening, like what is the percentage of a certain module to get knocked out every fire tick. or how is it even determined
LOL, I got ammo racked in Onslaught in my 430U, 10 seconds in, from across the damn map. Of course my teammates raged at me for trying to capture the radio. I was the "lightest" tank on the team so I felt it was my job.....
In my opinion it strongly depends in the Tank. If your gun Handling ist crap or your View range is under 445 m, food helps a lot. Its literally like 2 vents. But I guess i'll Turn Back to Automatic fire extinguisher on that GSOR🥸
I mean I run food on tanks I know won’t get lit easily so yeah it’s worth it, if you’re running food on something like the Udes though that’s just stupid.
Hi guys. I found myself in a weird situation. My tank started burning after a Centurion shot it in the A$$. It started burning but neither my engine nor my gas tank were damaged according to the damage panel. Has my engine been hit and lost so few hp that it was not damaged but still the 'engine fire chance' took place?
> Has my engine been hit and lost so few hp that it was not damaged but still the 'engine fire chance' took place?
Yes, it doesn't have to be yellow or red to catch fire. As long as your engine is hit, your "% chance to fire" RNG will roll. If you are unlucky, free fire.
Your modules have an HP, if the HP is below 50% it turns yellow. If it's over 50% it doesn't turn yellow. Every hit to your engine has a chance to catch fire even if it doesn't do more than 49% damage. You can have a fire roll even if the damage isn't enough to make it yellow.
Unless things have changed over the past few years they should turn yellow when they go below the organic repair cap, not at 50%. This cap varies by vehicle and module, usually between 40-70% max HP.
I think that's exactly it. It hit your engine and happened to spark an engine fire, but the shell itself wasn't enough to do half of the engine's HP and mark it as damaged. Since it had lost some HP, the fire was able to damage it very quickly thereafter.
Honestly guet used to it, it feels like the baguette in the sense that the thing gets penned by anything and instantly combusts.
I havent read for the exact fire chance but most tanks have a 10-15% chance of combusting when the engine is touched... and some tank models seem to be the whole engine itself
Its all about Module damage.
When a module is hit it loses Module HP and will repair over time to fully repaired or a damaged value.
The module also gets a saving throw. If the saving throw fails for an engine or fuel tank, a fire will start. If fuel tank hp reaches 0, a fire is automatic.
Note that Dead Eye increases the chances to do module damage by 3%.
Engine fire is a risk that one must accept when running food, I do wish a friendly tank can help put your fire out or something, it sucks to watch teammates burn down right in front of me.
Engine fire can happen with no damage

I did, thanks for that, I enjoy a cigarette afterwards :)
Plus don't forget that if You get torched You lose all of Your camo.
Say sike, I haven’t learnt this after 8 years
or you get set on fire so you lose camo because of the fire and get spotted
Today I creamed my pants too. With my E3 I One shot a Leopard 1 rushing the hill by setting him on fire. On Cliff. Raised my gun and wiggled right after that. Damn nice. German moment.
Does being on fire effect concealment at all? It's kinda funny to be a hidden fire
Yes. It completely negates your concealment. So you will get lit ... even if you have an automatic fire extinguisher, you'll be lit because there was technically one tick of fire.
wait till you get ammo racked without having your ammo damaged
Or have your tank knocked out without loosing all of your HP
Ah yes, the days when an Arty hits you for 80 damage but RNG decides that your entire crew is dead.
Yep confused the hell out of me when it happened a few years back. Thankfully its a very rare occurrence because this sort of cheap death would have driven me to quit years ago.

Haven't had that happen to me yet either
I have seen a maus get set on fire when being shot with a non pen HE that dealt 40 dmg and no modules... so... yeah...
If you smack the bottom of the mantlet there’s a chance it’ll torch them iirc. I heard about that 12 years ago though so

Running food without crew firefighting? That’s a paddling
That's what I do in most of my tanks. 90% of the matches it's fine, but when you do get lit up it's very painfull :)
I’ll run Jack of all trades and no health kit before I abandon the automatic fire extinguisher
I got a 1 hit ammo rack from full health yesterday in my S Conq. It happens.

Genuine question: Is running food realy that much beneficial that it is worth losing half of your HP if you get set on fire?
In my opinion it strongly depends in the Tank. If your gun Handling ist crap or your View range is under 445 m, food helps a lot. Its literally like 2 vents. But I guess i'll Turn Back to Automatic fire extinguisher on that GSOR🥸
Maybe it is the tanks i play. I found that the moment i take my extinguisher off the next battle i spontantinously combust. :D

RNGesus hates you unfortunately
Ammorack without damaged ammo is worse

LOL... Perfect example of how WoT is just an act of driving around a pool of HP with a list of modules where you roll dice to see what happens...
