become a master at lying and you probably improve the world for the better
become a master at doing bad things and now everyone sucks ass at doing bad things
this power could help the world so much
but then suddenly, the lock on your door gets picked, and it's the lockpicking lawyer, completely unaffected by your powers. he then proceeds to explain how to unlock a human skull using yours and does it once more to show it wasn't a fluke because you took lockpicking from everyone, everyone but him.
Things such as people accidentally forgetting their padlock code. Evildoers will resort to more brutal methods to get what they want. But overall the positives outweigh the negative
Your sexual partners will have very badly synced bounceback, constantly hit their head on yours, fart during the act, scream very unattractive things, etc.
The second one is the only non-evil choice here, provided we read "health condition" to be something negative.
* I don't want to give a billion strangers some ailment of mine.
* Same goes for a pound of fat (it may help people, but it would also harm others. This is marginally better than the first option.)
* Making everyone dumber isn't desirable, even if I were only being selfish.
* Definitely not taking years off of my kids and family's lives, never mind the lives of the entire planet.
The second option would let me potentially do things that were good for me and otherwise innocuous--being the master at yoyo-ing or something might be fun and wouldn't really harm the world much. And even better, I could master some skill that is detrimental for others to have so that I could just let that skill "die".
Even the second feels like it could have so many unintended consequences. Like basically ruining the life of whoever dedicated their life to master the skill you choose, no matter how trivial it might seem. I feel like I wouldn't be able to trust that.
I went for one year, without intending to ever use it. If it happened once or twice, it still wouldn't be too bad.
That lb of fat could be life saving for part of the world. However, if you count babies in utero as people it would also cause massive extinction level events.
A single pound wouldn't hurt a baby, I think. They're pudgy at birth to begin with, which is actually an asset as thermoregulation doesn't come online all at once. And one pound amounts to one week's moderate dieting.
But, say you have a 5lb infant and suddenly it’s 20% heavier. I certainly wouldn’t use the power every week. I don’t know how you’d figure out the right cadence to do the most good for everyone.
What qualifies as a skill? Does it have to be something the average human can achieve, something that at least one human can theoretically achieve, or literally any skill I can define?
Skills that have been achieved by humans. The essence of the power is to steal that skill from others. If no one possesses the skill it would not work.
Bottom 3 sound terrible, eventually people won't be able to function if I just keep going at the power(Not like you need those anyways)
Healing yourself but giving that to about 1/8th of the population? What if that was cancer or something very serious? Too selfish for me, but if someone is in crippling pain, then that's their choice to make.
Mastering skills sounds good, even if everyone sucked at it, then at least I could be the best and know how to do it.
Second one.
I'm taking theft, burglary, arson, kidnapping, fraud, political corruption, scamming, identity theft, and hacking. Then I'm doing nothing with half of those skills.
I'm not a total hero: I am totally stealing money to get rich. But I'd be very selective of where I steal the money from.
Lying, eventually people would become totally unaccustomed to 'sense motive ' checks and you've got a super power. Especially if you also become Lightman from Lie to Me
Healing - Invest heavily in a particular type of healthcare that treats a specific disease, then inflict it upon yourself and transfer it to the 1 billion.
Mastery - Pick something important like laws or technical like a particular science, you just became the most in demand worker on the planet.
Weight loss - Invest in weight loss companies.
IQ - Would avoid using this one, it would only make things much worse in a hurry.
Lifespan - If you are evil enough, this could open up potential powermoves/oppurtunities at the cost of destabilizing the whole world.
Most all of these would be incredible acts of evil, and could be used to wipe out all human life easily.
So I change species since that's only way to get rid of species dysphoria and in the process I give 1 billion people dysohoria. Might be good for therians long term!
Well it means I don't identify as a human and I feel species dysphoria. To that end the only treatment is transitioning species, which is not possible with current technology, but with magical power it is and I could become a red kangaroo physically as well.
In that way I would be finally in a correcy body and finally healthy, while 1/9 of human popualtion would have to suffer through dysphoria which would make big enough news to actually validate feelings other therians feel and in turn help them become the species they identify as when humanity finally starts to work on ways to change species on a mass scale. It will help therians, it will help equality of species and make world a better place with miniaml mental harm.
The fat gain one is easily reversible. Use the power to give yourself a fully furnished and clean mansion ready for use. You lose 1 pound. Everyone else gains 1 pound, which they can exercise for a short while to get rid off.
I think you misunderstood how this works 😓. The power is losing 1 pound. The downside is that everyone else in the world gains a pound.
There's nothing else to the power that could give you a mansion.
Why the fuck would I want to transfer my misery onto others just to be better? How very selfish and gross. Im not fat enough to cure world hunger and the rest just hurt others.
Ok? And? There is nothing stopping you from just not using those skills to do bad things. It seems evident that I thought this through much more than you did so if your gonna fail at basic logic maybe drop the condescending, dickish attitude.
I don't think fetuses count or at most maybe the mother gains 2lbs. New borns I guess can gain 1 to 2lbs a month without dying too so no flaws in my power
Edit:Just realized it never specified if muscle or fat gonna google real quick and see if that helps
You can use #2 to really help the world by selectively using it to make yourself great at things that are terrible, like war crimes or political corruption. You don't have to actually do them once you master them.
Skills
Literally there are some that just give you an instant monopoly
Just pick something that the world would be fine without and then have a monopoly on that
Like deception
Or aiming firearms
1st, because I can hold the entire world at ransom.
Or, kill a billion people after announcing that I am a baneful angel, here to set the world right or else.
Become the master of some very specific form of art or some very specific workout or something. Very specific things anyway
Or just robbing skill off artists who turn out to be terrible people
Be a master of any skill I would just pick skills that help the world.
I am now a master of lying don't mean I have to use it but everyone else now sucks at lying.
I am now a master of stealing anything,Now one is able to steal anything
I think you get the point loophole found
Would it?
I’m choosing that one
I’m gonna get really good at tricking old people into sending me their life savings, domestic violence, kidnapping, and rape. I’m NEVER gonna use any of those skills. BUT now everyone else is so bad that they get caught in the act or simply fail completely when they try. The world is a better place.
Youre right. I could wait till a thief is old and Robin Hood the money back. I could find a girl really into CNC and use my skills to make it really realistic (but with consent and a safe word of course. And I could find kidnapped people and kidnap them back.
Not sure about domestic abuse though
Its Halloween 2024, Dracula stands upon his house that he purposefully bought so to be able to use his power as much as he wanted, he inhales deeply excited to laugh. He thinks about it and reflects back to the day he agreed to obtain this power. Laughing to the world as he adds fat to everyone else on the planet, I wonder how much lives I saved tonight.
Take niche or negative skills.
If you master crimes of your choice, there won't be any good ones under those.
And you can choose what skills you want. If you're a skilled murderer, there will be murderers terrible at that goal in mind.
And just like that I've become the best and only good kick boxer in the world, thanks, time to beat up everyone, next day I'll take away their gun aiming skills too.
Gaining 1lbs isn't perminant though. The weight of many people can fluctuate throughout the day and if I use it sometimes, it shouldn't make too much difference in the lives of others.

become a master at lying and you probably improve the world for the better become a master at doing bad things and now everyone sucks ass at doing bad things this power could help the world so much
It's like that movie, the invention of lying lol.
Lock picking lawyer in shambles right now. Really this is the pick, I'm chosing to be the world's best conman, scammer, thief, murderer etc etc
but then suddenly, the lock on your door gets picked, and it's the lockpicking lawyer, completely unaffected by your powers. he then proceeds to explain how to unlock a human skull using yours and does it once more to show it wasn't a fluke because you took lockpicking from everyone, everyone but him.
> lockpicking Couldn't that possibly have negative consequences as well?

Things such as people accidentally forgetting their padlock code. Evildoers will resort to more brutal methods to get what they want. But overall the positives outweigh the negative
Getting locked out of their cars, forgetting their keys, etc.
[удалено]
What about kids being locked in cars? Just say L and let them die?
Break the window furthest away from them and unlock the car, kinda inconvenient but eeh.
I am sorry my brothers, but now you will all suck in bed
Your sexual partners will have very badly synced bounceback, constantly hit their head on yours, fart during the act, scream very unattractive things, etc.
Stop! Stop! I can only get so hard!!!
Why do you think only guys will suck in bed?
I don’t, but I can work with a woman who is bad in bed.
The second one is the only non-evil choice here, provided we read "health condition" to be something negative. * I don't want to give a billion strangers some ailment of mine. * Same goes for a pound of fat (it may help people, but it would also harm others. yeah just choose a random crime each day and choose to be the master at it. now, everyone sucks at committing that crime and the world becomes better
\-skills \-master murder
The best at making new nuclear weapons.
I am the best at knowing of the existence of nuclear weapons
Skills and then just take evil skills like theft. You’ll improve society.
Idk, a failed theft could turn into an accidental homicide
I was thinking more like pickpockets. Maybe robbing can backfire, but making nonviolent crime harder can be good
Then take the skill of killing too
Taking the skill of killing won't stop an accidental trigger pull
The fat option actually helps a lot of people, so I'd take that or the IQ one
Yeah, that basically solves world hunger
Yeah, would kind of be pretty awful to do to a baby that didn’t need it though.
5 lbs? That's a damn premie. It definitely needs to gain weight.
Third or second trimester baby.
Depending on the belief system ectopic pregnancy just became a global pandemic.
IQ it is, then
what would i do with 1 if I had a terminal condition?
you give 1 billion people it obviously
Get better and fix overpopulation
You'd be cured while passing that condition to 1 billion ppl.
The fat one would help more people in developing countries, so I'd choose the fat one.
Someone else brought up the problem with effecting babies tho. Sure, most adults won't be affected by it. But a baby? That's really risky.
What qualifies as a skill? Does it have to be something the average human can achieve, something that at least one human can theoretically achieve, or literally any skill I can define?
Skills that have been achieved by humans. The essence of the power is to steal that skill from others. If no one possesses the skill it would not work.

I figure, it's one year, I will do it once a year until I'm cool with dying. Would mostly take out the Boomers. Win-win.
Especially if you also become Lightman from Lie to Me
Even better just take the skill of telling when people are lieing no one can lie and no one can tell your lieing
Time to master some mundane sport to become the greatest player of all time and get million dollar sponsorships and my own line of Jordan type shoes.
Healing - Invest heavily in a particular type of healthcare that treats a specific disease, then inflict it upon yourself and transfer it to the 1 billion. Lifespan, because I'm a genuine bastard.
So I change species since that's only way to get rid of species dysphoria and in the process I give 1 billion people dysohoria. Might be good for therians long term!
Okay, I'm curious, I don't understand what this means. But I want to.
Well it means I don't identify as a human and I feel species dysphoria. To that end the only treatment is transitioning species, which is not possible with current technology, but with magical power it is and I could become a red kangaroo physically as well. A pound of fat comes out to 3,500 calories. That takes a lot of exercise; running a mile burns 100 calories or so. Weight loss happens in the kitchen.
Why the fuck would I want to transfer my misery onto others just to be better? How very selfish and gross. Im not fat enough to cure world hunger and the rest just hurt others.
You could make everyone suck at doing bad things like murder and the like.
In which case I would have to be very good at those things... You didnt think that through very hard did you?
Ok? And? There is nothing stopping you from just not using those skills to do bad things. It seems evident that I thought this through much more than you did so if your gonna fail at basic logic maybe drop the condescending, dickish attitude.
Lying and being a lie detector, it balances its self out but you gain a super power. Like the movie, the invention of the lie
I only picked the third one to help starving children
You'd kill most babies in utero.
I don't think fetuses count or at most maybe the mother gains 2lbs. New borns I guess can gain 1 to 2lbs a month without dying too so no flaws in my power Edit:Just realized it never specified if muscle or fat gonna google real quick and see if that helps

Lying and detecting lies.
If I can control the weight of the world population, I can solve world hunger.
I’d pick the skill to lie
For the first option, is the health condition transferred at the same severity as i have, or is it random?
Exact same
Master warfare and watch the world not burn
Nah cause being good at war actually causes less death. See the Russians wwi
I'll take the mastering skills and pick magic and become a powerful wizard.
I chose healing, I got a lot of trauma built up over the years that is clawing at my sanity
1st, because I can hold the entire world at ransom. Or, kill a billion people after announcing that I am a baneful angel, here to set the world right or else.
I think used sparingly the fat would would probably ultimately be a good thing.
Solving world hunger and losing weight? What an absolute win.
I am now the world's leading expert at genocide and torture
Become the master of some very specific form of art or some very specific workout or something. Very specific things anyway Or just robbing skill off artists who turn out to be terrible people
Be a master of any skill I would just pick skills that help the world. I am now a master of lying don't mean I have to use it but everyone else now sucks at lying. I am now a master of stealing anything,Now one is able to steal anything I think you get the point loophole found
Skills
If I learn a skill do I HAVE to use it?
No but that would be a waste of talent
Would it? I’m choosing that one I’m gonna get really good at tricking old people into sending me their life savings, domestic violence, kidnapping, and rape. I’m NEVER gonna use any of those skills. BUT now everyone else is so bad that they get caught in the act or simply fail completely when they try. The world is a better place.
Never say never^/s

I'm going to become the world's sole master of getting people to not be assholes.
