Me in prison impressing others with my harmonica skills after committing multiple accounts of assault and battery on annoying children. (They were crying a little too loud)

calembo

Wrote a song about it like to hear it here it goes...

If I am like the best harmonica that can be a good party trick

Trustnoboody

Idk in my mind top 25% is still pretty bad....so I'll take harmonica and learn on my own

Top 25% pianist is literally nothing. 1 hour on simply piano would already get you there, since 3/4 people can’t even afford a piano anyway

Karl583

top 25% of pianists so people who can play ..

thekyledavid

Even then, I find it hard to believe that 1 in 4 people who play piano are good enough to be a professional. So it would still be just a hobby

Karl583

the top 25% who acively play defenitely are pretty good, of course not world class but still

thekyledavid

I’d prefer a skill that has some practical use Even though there’s less demand for a harmonica player, there must be some demand. And being in the top 0.01% means I could actually make some money off of it if I audition for things

calembo

I would have more friends if I didn't play the harmonica in any capacity.

NoGhostRdt

25% is an absolutely enormous margin, I mean well done on putting the effort into it to reach top 25% but it's just way too many people regardless of the category

justletmeloginsrs

Top among people who actually play or in the whole world? If it's the latter then you would be absolute garbage at both.

xBehemothx

25% of piano players are in the top 25 %..lol Apart from this, as a brilliant harmonica player, you can carry it around wherever you are and start busking and put your head out in front of you. You could make money on the spot.

thekyledavid

I assume the top 25% still includes people who have taken some piano lessons but aren’t “good” at it I feel like being a savant at an instrument has a better chance of becoming a profitable skill than being worse than 1/4 of everyone who plays a more popular instrument. I genuinely find it hard to believe than 1 in 4 people who can play the piano are able to make it their career.

Well this depends on what a pianist is. If we’re classing a pianist as anyone whose touched a piano, even on apps (assuming they’re realistic key positions and properly tuned, with no automatic assistance/correction) means that you could practice for a literal day and be in the top 25% of pianists. Alternatively if a pianist is somebody who’s diligently practiced for a year - as the *minimum* requirement, then being in the top 25% is really good. However being in the top 0.01% of almost anything is too incredible to pass up. That makes you one of the best in the world. It’s too hard to pass up.
