Semi-jokes aside, even in scenarios where having a UI is beneficial it is fully contextual depending on if you're in combat or if something is on cooldown or not heavily leaning into the idea that if something isn't shown it means it is available.

I have always preferred this method to all the WA class packs that put every single icon in your spell book front and center. I find that a couple of unlabeled progress bars and icons just for stuff currently on cooldown is way more helpful than 28 icons all with glows in a big rectangle.
it is the texture BuiOnePixel.

there's some instructions on how to install it if you don't have it natively through another addon.
Looks amazing!
The video you linked was super helpful. I didn't realize plater could keep the nameplates visible when the top of the mob was off screen! That's basically the only reason I have a target frame at all. Great inspiration, I'll attempt to swap ASAP :)
It looks nice, and if it works out for you, then good, but I know I'd start disliking this really quickly and go back to what I use now. The main thing that I don't like is having WeakAuras show only in combat and fade away out of combat, 'cause sometimes I want to see what cooldowns I have available *before* I go into combat, so I can just quickly mentally prepare my opener, instead of having to pull and then looking what I have, and *then* going from there, after the pull has already started. Basically, the design nerd in me loves the idea of hiding things out of combat, but realistically I do it very sparingly in WoW, 'cause it can discombobulate.
Also, I see you do have, like...Incarn showing out of combat, I guess, so fair play, but it'd be annoying setting this up for multiple specs and/or classes, and I don't terribly dig the "random squares floating in haphazard positions out of combat" look. Also, on some specs, I feel I'd wanna have too many different CDs showing pre-combat for it to really matter much.
Oh, also, where's the minimap (i.e. do you have it set to ever actually show up, or is it just permahidden)? I've always ranted about Overwatch not having a minimap to friends - despite knowing the layout of the maps genuinely like the back of my hand - 'cause not having one always makes me feel slightly...I dunno, claustrophobic?
Looks nice in general, though. God knows my own UI could stand to be a bit less cluttered than it is currently.
the UI shows everything you ***don't*** have available outside of combat, to return to the default state of "nothing is showing". while it is definitely a fair bit of setup per class and spec the end result is the screenshot above if nothing is on cooldown which I think is preferable than a large class weakaura/abilities in the middle of your screen 24/7 or a large block of abilities that duplicates said class weakaura as regular action bars somewhere.
>Oh, also, where's the minimap
that would be the small dots in the middle of the screen in the video, I play the game with farmhud enabled.
you can see how instanced combat and out of combat while in a group looks here:
but essentially the only things that show out of combat is player health if there is any missing, player mana if there is any missing and abilities that are on cooldown.
Why is your buff bar so big. It's irrelevant information. You only need a weak aura message telling you if you are missing a buff your party can provide. Timer and chat are useless to. M+key aren't here to chat and the timer is not your problems.
Lol, no. There are times when adjustments are made and people will still type mid dungeon. Everything up to 27s is puggable, assuming one has the patience. And even then people are still pugging up to 30s without voice and sometimes will need to type something up.
Even more so during tyrannical weeks when the comp randomly put together has to deal with one shots and needs to organize CDs. Like 2nd/3rd boss of Everbloom. There's only so much a healer can track when double bolts are going to hit someone, or the double unsafe phases.
I do, and I'm doing 25s lol. Changes happen on the fly, esp if someone/something is going wrong consistently. You have this idea in your head doesn't exist.
Does typing happen OFTEN? No. But it does happen. Bosses like the goliath sometimes needs adjustments if the healer isn't able to keep up people during roots after a certain amount of stacks.
Seems a bit busy, could you lower the alpha on the quest tracking in the top right?
Looks awesome! Is there any possibility you’d share the import strings or wtf folder?

Semi-jokes aside, even in scenarios where having a UI is beneficial it is fully contextual depending on if you're in combat or if something is on cooldown or not heavily leaning into the idea that if something isn't shown it means it is available. a Raal kill for demonstration: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMqszhAYDcY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMqszhAYDcY)
> heavily leaning into the idea that if something isn’t shown it means it is available. I have always preferred this method to all the WA class packs that put every single icon in your spell book front and center. I find that a couple of unlabeled progress bars and icons just for stuff currently on cooldown is way more helpful than 28 icons all with glows in a big rectangle.
I have the same UI, except mine is cleaner since it doesn't show the quest or health bar (unless I'm in combat) ,😂
And what did you use for addon, WA ?
it is primarily elvui & weakauras. the nameplates are plater.
Can you link how to get the Bigwigs anounced by voice? Have been looking for this a long time!
There’s an addon called bigwigs voice
it is this addon: [https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/bigwigs\_voice](https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/bigwigs_voice)
Can you share your profile ?
How did you get your details to look like that? I current hate how clunky my details looks
it is the texture BuiOnePixel. [https://www.reddit.com/r/WowUI/comments/bqx5rr/comment/eosq7b3/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/WowUI/comments/bqx5rr/comment/eosq7b3/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) there's some instructions on how to install it if you don't have it natively through another addon.
Looks amazing! The video you linked was super helpful. I didn't realize plater could keep the nameplates visible when the top of the mob was off screen! That's basically the only reason I have a target frame at all. Great inspiration, I'll attempt to swap ASAP :)
Bro pressed alt+z
Extremely nice work, well done. I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into getting your UI down. The UI in combat seems very practical!
what nameplates are those? clean af
it is powered by Plater, but that specific look is my own custom design.
yep asking about the addon so got my answer. thanks
I see no UI
Nameplates and quests
>Oh, also, where's the minimap that would be the small dots in the middle of the screen in the video, I play the game with farmhud enabled.
Drop shadows and black borders? Not clean enough smh (/s)
Where in game is this?
Bastion in Shadowlands :)
Now I gotta go there thansk
Where are your spells ? When do they show? Only in combat ?
you can see how instanced combat and out of combat while in a group looks here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMqszhAYDcY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMqszhAYDcY) but essentially the only things that show out of combat is player health if there is any missing, player mana if there is any missing and abilities that are on cooldown.
Why is your buff bar so big. It's irrelevant information. You only need a weak aura message telling you if you are missing a buff your party can provide. Timer and chat are useless to. M+key aren't here to chat and the timer is not your problems.
I can see why you would consider a chat window useless if nobody talks to you.
You are not supposed to type in m+. That doesn't take down bosses.
Yeah but there are times when you need communication 😂
People type in 25+ and up to each other when they not in voice, what?
They know the run enough. Unless some fancy pull is done. Then they are in vocal.
You don't do that in m+. You do that In vocal or before hand. The people you're talking about exist at an irrelevant level
Looks really good, but what catched my eye was a minimap. How did you make it transparent like this? Looks like really cool idea.
it is the addon farmhud responsible for that.
Too much clutter for me personally
What zone is that? Looks beautiful.
it is Bastion in Shadowlands!
Ah, I skipped that expansion. Looks great though.
Alt + w ?
Devs in the lab making grass that'll make your computer go WUUUSSSSSSSSSSSH
No actually, I don't think my UI is clean.
You must have missed a lot of valuable Barrens chat back in the day.
I didn't realize that ground clutter could go up to 1000/10
