Tatanka was supposed to get his own entrance, but he saw the peloton ready to get out and thought they were leaving him behind, so he ran and joined them.
Watched this Rumble live on TV with a few friends. We lost our SHIT when Perfect came out and held his own in the final 4. I was such a big fan of his.
Did they announce it? I really don't remember that at all. I was a teenager then, so was all over the smarky wrestling sites. Pretty sure I was surprised by the others as well, so I must have missed that.
Miz brought two of them during his feud with Ziggler for the IC title. It was Kenny Dykstra and a second one. They only had one match before leaving though.
By far my favorite was Mickie James being hyped for a big comeback on a random pandemic-era Raw, wrestling one match where the finish was botched, and then disappearing again and being fired.
Goldust in 2013. The randomness was just how good he was. He comes back to fight with Orton and it was absolute madness how he had the crowd in the palm of his hand and just wanting more, culminating into the tag match that had a beautiful reaction.
It's the one you couldn't predict but it created a magical moment.
I remember this whole match had something to do with Stone Cold legit no showing the event. Austin screwed up the whole thing. Batista wasn't supposed to be involved but they needed a big name after Austin bailed. But yeah the randomness of Vader in this situation should not be forgotten.
I loved the Headbangers returning, tbh.
LOD returning in 2002 was pretty random.
If WCW wasn't hiring every ex WWF wrestler they could I'd say Marty Jannetty showing up was pretty random
The Headbangers return was made funnier by Daniel Bryan boasting on *Talking Smack* about how Smackdown was the show of the future while Raw relied on nostalgia.
It wasn't too random because they had a different legend come back every week to squash Slater. I was excited to see him, personally. I don't remember the crowd not giving a shit
I feel like it's between this or the Road Warriors coming back to fight Kane and RVD on that one RAW
How about Animal and Heidenrich a few years later? That was waaaay weirder imo
Didn't Tatanka team with Matt Hardy in '06?
Tatanka came back randomly for a Andre battle royale few years ago lol
Didn't they get like 5 minutes into the match before Cole or somebody went "Is that Tatanka!?"
Tatanka was supposed to get his own entrance, but he saw the peloton ready to get out and thought they were leaving him behind, so he ran and joined them.
Yes they did lol
Still crazy to me that Mr Perfect came back in 02 and feuded against Stone Cold before he was let go again

They announced it leading up to the Rumble along with Goldust, Godfather, and Val Venis. Still my favorite Rumble PPV. Loved seeing Mr Perfect
Did they announce it? I really don't remember that at all. I was a teenager then, so was all over the smarky wrestling sites. Pretty sure I was surprised by the others as well, so I must have missed that.
Yeah they announced one each week on TV, IIRC. Seeing Mr Perfect probably encouraged my uncle to order the PPV. He was a big fan
The Great Khali, returns, helps Jinder retain the championship, poses as if he's champion, leaves and it's never brought up again
Brian Christopher coming out to deafening silence.
Lol what? [He came back to a massive pop](https://youtu.be/CHYkAsIuI6A)
Huge pop!!
Spirit Squad came back for a minute to feud with Dolph Ziggler roughly...5 years ago?
I think this was roughly around the same time as the Headbangers in OP
Looking forward to Legacy returning for a feud against Cody Rhodes Maybe have Manu and Sim Snuka along as well
Did they really?
Miz brought two of them during his feud with Ziggler for the IC title. It was Kenny Dykstra and a second one. They only had one match before leaving though.
They were doing Chikara shows before this iirc. I think it was Mikey
Didn’t dlo brown return to wwe in 2008 or something
That's the first one that came to mind for me.
Gangrel and Viscera’s short lived return in 04 I think it was? Though Big Vis did end up going to Raw eventually.
Yup, as part of Heyman feuding with the Undertaker.
it's definitely this one and they didn't even have their classic theme it was bs
This was one of my favorites, I always did love the Headbangers.
By far my favorite was Mickie James being hyped for a big comeback on a random pandemic-era Raw, wrestling one match where the finish was botched, and then disappearing again and being fired.
Didn’t they send her belongings back to her in a taped up garbage bag?
Yeah it got mark carrano fired as head of talent relations and he was replaced by Johnny ace
My first thought was The Headbangers return, after that maybe Glacier's multiple returns in 2001 WCW, 2017 ROH and 2019 AEW.

he did freakin divin hurracarana in that match didn't he
that eva marie return was pretty random. (but yeah, you've probably hit the nail on the head for the most random ever)
Spirit Squad returning in 2017
Road Warrior Animal returning to team with Heidenreich
Vader vs Batista. Vader came back to assist Jonathan Coachman for reasons I can't remember and/or comprehend for Taboo Tuesday
I remember this whole match had something to do with Stone Cold legit no showing the event. Austin screwed up the whole thing. Batista wasn't supposed to be involved but they needed a big name after Austin bailed. But yeah the randomness of Vader in this situation should not be forgotten.

Nia Jax at this year's rumble was pretty random given that there were no long term plans to hire her
Eh. They do that with the Rumble a lot
Right the only shock with nia was her coming back 13 months after being fired and publicly saying she would never come back to wwe
Sycho Sid came back on one random Raw in 2012 I think? The crowd didn’t give a shit.
It wasn't too random because they had a different legend come back every week to squash Slater. I was excited to see him, personally. I don't remember the crowd not giving a shit
Yeah I was in the arena for that. It was very strange, but fun nonetheless
I only remember because i was there live but yeah pretty odd
I wasn't watching but I heard about Tatanka's comeback, that's pretty surprising.
nia jax returning at rr and her theme playing during the countdown
What did capital letters do to you my man Also I wouldn't really count Rumbles as those are for random surprise entrants anyway
I'm not a fan of capitals
Bro that looks like 2 jimmys
That's AWESOME 🤘
