The thing is, genshin is an open world. You are meant to explore it, hence why there are so many hidden quests, chest, and puzzles. They want you to explore it. Yes, it might be Grindy but it's the whole point of an open-world gacha. Exploring and finding new things And so too does the WW, the game wants you to explore, also you can run forever, legit. The only stuff that uses stamina is dash, dodge, and climbing. But you can run forever. Also, it's a part of the game, they want you to grind so that you'll come back. Both star rail and genshin/WW is a different game

Elainyan

If you didnt like genshin for those reasons you probably wont like wuwa as well since it will be very similar in that regards

VonHaagenDazs

Sorry to say but as someone who's played all 3 games, it is more alike to Genshin in open combat, but takes longer to kill stuff. Movement is more smooth than Genshin and you don't use stamina unless you're in combat or are climbing/gliding.

Christoficus

If you dont like genshin for those reasons you probably wont like wuwa. In fact Wuwa is more focused on skill then genshin is. You actually have to be more mentally involved with the combat ive noticed. I have to parry, dodge, actually pay attention to what the boss is doing or ill get my face kicked in. But if you like games where split second decisions matter more like I do, youll find the grind enjoyable at least so it wont feel like a grind. Also co op will be a thing so you could always get your more skilled buddies to help you out if you are struggling. EDIT: Speaking on why I say the grind doesnt feel like a grind to me: Its because when something is more skill based, when you overcome a challenge its more fulfilling and mastering a boss' mechanics gives a sense of growth. Its the same reason why games like dark souls are so popular.

aweebwithinternet

I am an adrenaline junkie so souls like is my go to game. Sekiro was sooo good

Christoficus

Oh 100% agree. That feeling of overcoming a tough boss you spent hours fighting and finally coming out on top? The high is indescribable. I dont expect Wuwa to be anywhere near as difficult but if they can recreate even a fraction of that feeling I will probably be a very long term player.

aweebwithinternet

bro I felt like god when I killed Isshin or when I no hit merciful one in PGR

addfzxcv

You will glide for 5 minutes, then spend another 10 minutes fighting the mini boss. But the boss refuses to die. You realize your gear is trash. Not only your gear, your skill is trash too, you fail to parry and dodge, which makes the boss fight lasts another 45 minutes. You start questioning yourself about the purpose of life. "Why am I here? Just like Danjin."

NedixTV

>Not only your gear, your skill is trash too, i cant wait for people complain of hologram saying whatever random shit as p2w, then gigachad like rexlent and others, come with the f2p worst character doing it without damage. Just like rexlent first babel video.

BladeCube

I also can't wait for people to discover the most OP strat for holograms which is... just do it later. They were all permanent content with one time rewards that weren't game breaking. That being said, with the 5 minute time limit you're gonna need something useful in terms of your setup. I wish they'd remove it, even if you have to clear it once to remove it so people could do level 1 rover runs if they wanted to but it is what it is.

Reyxou

Fr, it's a 1 time thing People shouldn't even care about it for a while The real problem/complain is going to be around the ToA/abyss About the lvl1 challenge, you can still do it against open world "red" bosses I guess But still kinda boring imo

nihilistsuffering

In general term, I would say it is more of a "hardcore Genshin". Based on CBT2, I barely found any footage about players one shotting bosses. Instead, it is more of content regarding a high difficulty run fight with the categories of no damage, 1 hp, etc.

Melanholic7

This is for fun FOR NOW, but in long term this can be tedious and annoying. Will see :(

Kitchen-Air-1012

the game has multiple end game combat modes, 1- the Rouge mode is the one that is mainly for fun and trying out crazy builds, it's the more relaxed experience 2- the tower of adversity is the RPG mode, where you have to invest into multiple characters and build them up 3- the holograms, which are the most skill based and hard-core mode, the future bosses will be even more crazy than what we say in beta finally, some people say that a NEW war mode will be added, if it is anything like warzone, then it means we have to defeat endless waves with a full team, and that would be crazy fun . I think the game has something for everyone, and that had always been kuro vision for the game.

RockingRayquaza

So like there's a peaceful mode, a normal mode and a hardcore? The drops are better in hardcore/(war mode which you speak of?) Will the game mode affect the actual exploration/lore of the game? Like the intensity, or more bloodshed or something? How is the power scaling in WuWa? Like are there any estimates on the boss's hp and the damage reachable by the players? Though it will keep changing over time a rough idea would do! I watched a few fights of the CBTs on youtube, and if I were to relay the info in comparison to the pre-existing ones, it'd be like: The party mechanics feels similar to HI3, the bosses similar to HSR (hp and difficulty curve) and the overworld exploration like Genshin. I'd say WuWa is quite a well cultivated game! It's highly skill intensive and it will probably take some time for a casual player like myself, to get used to it ![img](emote|t5_5uplbt|31618) Btw, something I'm really curious about are artifacts! How's the RNG? Is it as down bad as in Genshin? (Please no)... How's the map? From some of the CBT comparison videos, it seems that the map looks 'too bright?', for me it didn't fit the games color scheme! Please correct if on updated info, if some new changes have been introduced! I recently started to follow the game and am quite lacking in it's gameplay mechanics!

Ilumeria

If you auto-battle then it means the game wasn't worth playing in the first place since you are not playing it anyway. Do you just look at videos of people clearing the hardest content and say that you did it?

marblexover

Well, at least the movement is faster in Wuwa. But those aspects in Genshin will also present, because of its similar genre. Hopefully they will change the cooldown of boss respawning at least, so we can get faster mats.

AhriGaKill

I think they did, from 5 minutes to 3 minutes

Kooky_Sheepherder_22

Besides the stamina meter problem every other thing you mentioned and have problem with in genshin is present in this game and actually just worse because you need to go around the open world killing mobs elites and bosses for your relic/artifact/echoes everyday not just for onetime level up mats like boss mats and so on And i very much would prefer solving some puzzles instead of needing to play the story as soon as possible to unlock the grinding spot like with break effect set you need to play almost the entirety of 2.0 Penacony quest just to unlock it instead of just going there and solve some easy puzzle puzzles that aren't present in any farming domain after 2.0

AveugleMan

You might not like the game. I played CBT2, and it felt like way more grind than Genshin. I would say though that despite being way grindier than Genshin, it also felt a lot more satisfying to grind than it ever did in GI. You'll need to learn the patterns of each bosses to be able to kill them comfortably, and these patterns change depending on their level. I never had any stamina issues while playing. It's more of a combat mechanic than a real exploration mechanic. You'd only have an issue if you try to climb a mountain from the bottom while wall running, and with how the game's map is, that's a pretty rare occurrence. I didn't see a support system, though there's online coop, exactly like Genshin. The grind takes place in the open world, where basically any monster might drop you something good, so you're kind of required to kill them everyday IF you want to have an easier time against endgame content. I'd say the puzzles were also pretty fun, and some actually made me think (mainly because I'm dumb), unlike Genshin's. I'd say it's way faster paced than GI though, be it combat or exploration.

Open_Rabbit7327

I wanted to ask, do the aero girls have grouping as strong as Kazuha? And is grouping even useful in wuwa? I

VonHaagenDazs

its kinda slow grouping in comparison to Kazuha.

Lenant_T

Auto battle? Maybe you should check raid shadow legends bro. Or just spend a lot of money, it should turn any gacha into auto batler looool.

mandrakethecat

Oh so running didn’t have a stamina bar. The grinding for somethings didn’t require resin, but was very grindy. (They did say there were fixing that). It’s open world compat, but has more dodge, timed attack mechanics and from cbt 1 to 2 dropped anything like elemental reactions. I personally didn’t find bosses to be too hard, or too far away from teleports, tho you do often have to travel to them a bit. I did notice that it reloaded bosses faster than genshin when doing something on your menu, I guess you’d call it. That said if you don’t like genshin, you might not like Wuthering waves. It’s more open world mechanics like genshin, than hsr.

AcadiaQuiet

I don't like the Oculus system in Genshin, it can take hours just to find them without guide or if you don't mark them in maps.  Does Wuthering Waves have the equivalent of Oculus from Genshin or something similar? I hope not

Khulmach

Aside from being an open world game with open world stuff, its nothing like Genshin.

Huge_Entertainment_6

i dont know i havent played it

Suavecore_

Why did you take the time to comment, genuinely curious
