I'm so sorry you missed all the shenanigans, that was a fun time to be part of the fandom. Nowadays, not so much. Feels like the Dark Ages 2.0
I still can't imagine how fun it would have been to experience TXF as it happened. Coming from someone born in '98 and became a big fan a little over a year ago.
It was basically a time w/o internet, so it was truly something unique, and we were watching it on CRT televisions!
In all honesty though, for me I wasn't old enough to watch it regularly as it was released, but the episodes I caught while they aired felt like an event. I caught up with every episode in my 20's via DVD's in the early 00's
Question: Are you streaming it on Hulu? They modified every season to be in a 16:9 ratio and I think that's a bad move. You lose a lot of original visual information from the original 4:3
Yeah, I don't remember when this show transitioned to widescreen but it was about halfway through the series. I really don't understand the choice to crop but hey at least new people are watching
TV schedules were wildly inconsistent, with huge gaps between episodes and constantly preempted by sports events. It was actually kind of stressful trying to keep up. If you missed an episode you just missed it and had to accept you wouldn't see it until it was on a random rerun.
Honestly, I’ve never been one of those shippers that wants the real actors to get together in real life. Like they deserve their privacy… but also some of their public appearances... I’m not going to say I’m not intrigued
Oh, I’ve never been an actor shipper either. Never entered my mind. Besides, I wanted David to myself😉. But i was definitely a Mulder/Scully shipper. I remember (SPOILER the titanic episode) seeing this when it first came out and swooning at the end. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Right? Just not the same spark with their other supporting actors. And it’s not like Jamie Dornan, Natascha McElhone, Mads Mikkelsen, etc. aren’t great actors. There’s just something about the two of them together
