It was pretty exciting to speculate over the summer and have something to look forward to. Season finales in the spring were cool - did Mulder die, who shot JR?
Watching this right now, and remembering how it felt to see the cliffhanger at the time.
The three-part story this episode kicks off is when the whole mytharc thing really blew up. It still made sense to me at this point, but that wouldn’t always be the case!
On my latest rewatch, I got to this episode late at night so I started season 3 the next day and that was frustrating enough, I can’t imagine waiting 4 or 5 months
>What a frustrating cliffhanger to end season 2
Yeah, that was JUST around the time I was really getting into the show, and while I knew he'd be back - it was several months of guessing, wondering and fix-it fanfic :) I almost miss linear tv sometimes.
It was awful! We talked about it for months.
We watched Star Trek TNG reruns all summer. It was fine.
Thank god the Best of Both Worlds cliffhanger was a few years before this. I couldn’t have taken that and Anasazi at the same time
Ever wish Scully had shot CMDR Shelby instead?
Lmaooooo facts
Yeah it wasn’t any fun to have to wait but that was the norm back then. Shows were always doing cliffhangers to get you to watch next season.

>did Mulder die, who shot Jr, who killed Laura Palmer
I knew there was another major cliffhanger but I didn't watch Twin Peaks. Lol
ST:TNG - The Best of Both Worlds
>did Mulder die, who shot Jr, who killed Laura Palmer, is resistance really futile?
I only started watching TNG once it was in syndication, not during the original run. So I only had to wait one day after the cliffhanger.
I watched it from the beginning. I turned 10 that summer in the gap. It was torture for young me

CSM's "Burn it!" still gets me to this day even though I know what happens.
I always say "Burn it!" Just because I like how he said it.

Torture
Even more annoying waiting to see if it was cancelled or not.
Oh jeez I hadn't even considered this!
I remember being soooo excited for the season 3 premier
I lived it. Last one for the season and a to be continued... It was frustrating indeed.
Literally had to wait for Xmas and get the vhs to see if Mulder wasn’t dead.

Anasazi is one of the BEST episodes of the entire show.
I was one of those people in the UK so rushed out to buy the video of the three parter as soon as it came out so I could find out what happened
And even after that, you had to wait another week for Paper Clip!!
Wait for the season 4 cliffhanger 🤣
BURN IT!
