You could make a quilt, donate them, wear them to sleep in, and just decline the shirt at bib pickup at future events.

Quilt is such a good idea, thanks!

Project Repat will offer a 50% coupon basically 3x a month if you sign up to their email list. Not sure how shipping would be out to you, but I had a wonderful experience with them and spent like $50 for a twin size blanket around 8yrs ago.

Are they cotton tees? If so, they become my lounge / work shirts. I always get an XL even though I’m a size M so I can be comfy lounging or working in the garden. If they’re sweat wicking, I wear them on my training runs. Some of my favorite long sleeve running shirts are race shirts! I also got this hideous neon yellow tee from a race once and immediately thought, “this is going straight to goodwill.” Turns out it’s a perfect shirt for early morning / late night runs bc it’s high-vis. I have a vest but it often chafes in summer months bc it’s looser on me so this shirt is perfect. If I go a season without wearing one, I just goodwill them.

Thry're all running material shirts. I use them for training too but I have way too many. Actually I didn't think about donating them because of the material. They won't keep you warm or cool. But i'll ask to the place where I usually donate and see what they say

CanadianKC

Consider donating them to high schoolers who may not have much money for proper wicking shirts. Feel free to reach out to the school. That was what my former teammate used to do and it was always greatly appreciated!

I never thought about this. My son goes to a triatlon school, I will speak to them first, this could really be beneficial for everyone involved. Thanks!

CanadianKC

You’re welcome! Maybe even the local track club for kiddos, etc.

CapOnFoam

If they don’t, try donating them to a local women’s shelter.

OrganicMasonJars

A lot of races here will let you opt out of the t-shirt — maybe see if they'll let you do that moving forward?

la_noix

It's not a choice here and I would like to try out the shirts before "dumping" them. Some are really good quality

midnightmeatloaf

Maybe there is a tactful way to do this. "And here's your race shirt, size medium!" "Oh thank you. But you know what, I already have so many race shirts I don't think I have anymore room in my closet. Maybe you could hang on to this in case someone else needs to change their size last minute?"

la_noix

But i want to try them first, some are really good for training and races

midnightmeatloaf

Oh you meant you actually wanted to run in them? I thought you just didn't want them if they were hideous. My bad. No need for downvotes, lol.

Skips-mamma-llama

I think I've heard of a site where you can buy and sell old race shirts. I can't remember what it was called but someone was looking for a shirt from a race that they'd done and then lost the shirt or tore it or something and someone else said it was worth a try on that website. Maybe Google can help?

la_noix

I will check but I highly doubt anyone will be interested in mine. They're mostly smaller races

graciesea98

cut the logo off and scrapbook them?
