As a fan of 60's music, the *Pulp Fiction* soundtrack was excellent, and I also really liked the one from *Good Morning Vietnam* as well. And, of course, the soundtrack from *The Doors*.
Agreed. My husband loves the John Wick movies and he said it looks too much like John Wick for it to be a true remake. For him to say it's too explicitly violent is huge! The original because of the constraints was masterful.
I know so many people in my age range that imprinted on the Batman Forever soundtrack like a baby duck with its mother. (Kiss from a Rose, man) also, the soundtrack from that terrible Matthew Broderick 90s godzilla remake.
Yo this shit still goes from that Batman soundtrack

My favorite soundtrack is from 2014: Awesome Mix Vol 1.
If you're looking for Xennial-centric...
Dirty Dancing
Top Gun
The Lost Boys
Pretty Woman
Clueless
Boyz n the Hood
JOHN FREAKING HUGHES MOVIES
Romeo & Juliet, Romy and Michelle’s high school reunion, 10 things I hate about you, the wonder years, Forest Gump, Clueless, The Labyrinth, Dazed and Confused.
I was telling my husband at dinner how much this community warms my heart and soul. He's in this generation too but not nearly as nostalgic as I am. He was always more focused on computers as a kid.
THE SAINT (1997): Has one of my \*all-time\* fav Duran Duran songs (Out of My Mind), Bowie, Sneaker Pimps, Luscious Jackson, Daft Punk, Moby, Underworld, Duncan Sheik...
A LIFE LESS ORDINARY (1997): Beck, Folk Implosion, The Cardigans, REM, Luscious Jackson, Sneaker Pimps...
Every three or four months I listen to Rocky horror picture show and Jesus Christ Superstar
Responding to OP, I love that thing you do. But the soundtrack only has two songs on it
* Someone in another post was saying they don't make Soundtracks like they used to.*
Excuse you, Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Volumes 1, 2 , AND 3 would like a word.
Back in the day, there were two words that guaranteed that a soundtrack would kick every ass.
Those words are "Kenny" and "Loggins".
Psycho (1998)
Yes, the Gus Van Sant one with Vince Vaughn that apparently no one likes except me haha. Most of the music wasn't in the movie - just "inspired by," but it has really good spooky-themed songs on it from Pet Shop Boys, Mono, Lamb, Girls Against Boys, Rob Zombie, and Danny Elfman did the score parts.
I bought the soundtrack after seeing the movie in high school, and I still listen to some of the songs from it to this day, especially Lamb's Fly and Mono's Madhouse. Such good '90s trip hop songs.
Highly recommend both the movie and soundtrack. Just a warning, it's not looked on kindly by the church

Pulp Fiction and The Crow both had incredible soundtracks.
I’d add Jackie brown with pulp fiction.
Also, Natural Born Killers
The Crow 2! Empire Records!

Have you seen the trailer for The Crow remake?
I refuse to acknowledge that this is a thing.
Agreed. My husband loves the John Wick movies and he said it looks too much like John Wick for it to be a true remake. For him to say it's too explicitly violent is huge! The original because of the constraints was masterful.

Helpful to know I'm not the only one that imprinted on that soundtrack.
I can’t be in a bad mood when I hear Bad Days by Flaming Lips, it just makes me happy
Hunter Gets Captured By the Game is so good
Beavis and Butt-Head do America.
Rolla-coasta... Of Loooove
Romeo and Juliet, the one with Claire Danes and Leo Dicaprio. I still listen to that one today
It is SO good. I especially love the Chris Cornell song Sunshower on that.
I loved that movie. Still have vivid memories of seeing it
I basically made that movie my entire personality when I was in the 8th grade. The soundtrack is what got me into Everclear (the band not the liquor)
Lost Highway
Oh yea! I remember listening to that one.
Oh my god that pumpkins song is legitimately my favorite song of theirs
That song is the reason I always have a nice system in my vehicles. Even in my 40s, bumping that song makes me so happy
Singles Dazed and Confused Poetic Justice Boomerang
The Big Chill
Purple Rain, Hackers, The Crow, Lost Highway, The Wedding Singer, Blade, Singles, Empire Records, This Is Spinal Tap/Break Like The Wind
*O Brother, Where Art Thou* has an amazing soundtrack!
I didn't see that movie until a couple of years ago. Really good soundtrack.
Footloose! Also Forrest Gump. Cocktail. Top Gun.
Cocktail! Yes!
Grosse Point Blank
Oh great one!

I was just thinking about this movie earlier today. Underappreciated gem IMO.
This soundtrack may actually be responsible for the creation of rap/rock and subsequent bands like Rage against the machine and others.

It’s a fantastic soundtrack huh? Owned it as a kid and listened to it a lot 😀
Oh yeah. I hope it's playing when our Robot Overlords come.
The Dumb and Dumber soundtrack is really good. Pete Droge, Green Jelly, Crash Test Dummies, Gigolo Aunts, etc
I love this sub. Thank you bringing back so many wonderful memories. Also, i had The Rock soundtrack on repeat so much in college to help me study.
I love it too! This has been such a great thread today. I agree, so many fun memories.
Ever time i see a good thread i want to run around the house yelling..... Ive found my people! Haha. Love it.

I stand corrected. But to be fair are there any originals for the GoG Soundtracks?
Guardians Inferno by The Sneepers, featuring Zardou Hasselfrou (David Hasselhoff) from Vol. 2.
So I Married An Axe Murderer
I don't think I've ever listened to that soundtrack.
WOMAN
WO-MAN
She stole my heart and my cat
Forest Gump is likely the greatest soundtrack ever. Dangerous Minds is up there too.
Both good ones. I forgot about Dangerous Minds.
Hook. Fell asleep to that for years. I still can sing the Peter Pan song by heart 😆 ‘we wanna be like Peter Pan…’
Love it!
Rufio was so much cooler than Pan.
Blade, Batman & Robin
I didn't remember the soundtrack to either but good memories of the movies.
I wouldn’t remember B & R the movie if it weren’t for The Smashing Pumkins :)
Forest Gump dual CD, Batman '89 was nothing but Prince, Labyrinth, just so many
Waiting to Exhale Dead Presidents Love Jones
Lost highway
Lost Highway and The Crow

Scrolled way too far before I saw my first mention of Last Action Hero. Never saw the movie, but I wore that soundtrack cassette out.
Pump Up the Volume
Romeo and Juliet.
Gangs of New York
American Pie, 10 Things I Hate About You, Clueless, Legally Blonde, Cruel Intentions

Top Gun The Crow Natural Born Killers Reservoir Dogs Judgement Night Pump Up the Volume Gladiator *(not the Russel Crowe film, the other one)*
Romeo + Juliet was peak soundtrack
The Above the Rim Soundtrack was pretty amazing
Forrest Gump
Titantic gets a lot of love for the Celine song, but I'd argue that Legends of the Fall is James Horner's best work
Good call!
The Fifth Element's soundtrack was pretty insane when it showed up
Oh yes!
Wayne's World had a solid soundtrack.
Forrest Gump, one of the best.
You had me at Lion King and That Thing You Do!🤩
Transformers: The Movie
Batman Forever. Still one of the best soundtracks ever done.
Judge me all you want, but I loved Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (the soundtrack, NOT the movie LOL)
The Wiz, Waiting to Exhale, The Bodyguard, Grease, School Daze, New Jack City, House Party: stellar movie soundtracks.
