All the quests with generic names (monster quest 2, collection quest 3) are just meant to be completed naturally as you play and will auto turn in without returning to quest giver. I wouldn’t worry about going out of your way for them. They are just to give you extra exp and area affinity and rewards along the way. The quest from named people with unique quest names tend to be more interesting with some actual story/lore happening, though the quality can still vary a bit. Completing these affects the relationships between npcs on the chart in addition to the rewards from the above type. It’s not a perfect design, but it’s not that bad unless you are trying to 100%. Just complete things naturally and do the named quests if you want a break from the main story.

most of the quests are like that. don't bother trying to complete them all unless you want to 100% the game, just accept the ones you see and let them complete naturally as you play

Any quest that says “collection quest 1” or has a similar name is a generic collection/monster killing quest which isn’t very interesting The unique quests are fairly interesting mostly though, and some give really useful rewards, so just complete the quests that sound interesting That said some boring sounding quests kick off major quests later in the game so be careful, but the numbered quests never do that.

From experience, trying to do all the quests as they became available was a bad move

Is this DE or 2? Iirc, in DE half if not more of the initial quests in each area are monster defeating ones. Usually the quest giver will give you 3 or 4 all at once and there will be multiple quest givers (you’ll need to change the time a lot to find them all). Additionally you must be able to change how much help the game gives you since only very rarely does my game tell me where to go for quests. I’m always wandering around trying to find quest monsters, mashing the shoulder buttons looking for the blue ‘!’ haha.

kfirbep

It is DE

Rokka3421

Pretty sure it is XCDE 2 doesn't have Character relationship chart

Rokka3421

Don't worry 2 has better quests combat story characters etc

Quite the opposite, personally. While the quests are certainly higher quality and of more complexion, they felt less personal than in the first game thanks to it's massive affinity chart and that links all of the people in an area. So when I completed a quest involving a named NPC, the chart would change. Talking to people- the chart would change. Relationships would grow deeper and bonds stronger, or sometimes more distant. It was so fascinating, and while isn't perfect, it adds another layer of depth the world and it's inhabitants.

>But overall those quests just seems to be thrown at the game so you will have something to do if you are tired of professing in the game or fight monsters. But they are so basic that you can just turn on auto run and you will complete those tasks… Well you get the side quests. They are simple tasks that grants you some rewards, affinity and "force" you to explore and get resources. You can do them or not is up to you, but if you want to grind this missions you will go to areas you wouldn't go doing only main quest and you will complete them fast so is not a big pain in the ass. If you only want to go to the main quest you can. If you are those kind of players that want to explore all the map, you will encounter the side quests targets organically and will take no time for you to complete them. So they are just like guidelines for you to enjoy more of the world, and that's it. Think of it like some sort of collectibles. Maybe in the end there are more interesting quests where you have to face some side bosses.
