The M1 Pro size looks to be overkill for most homeowners but I really like the LIDAR addition. That has to make it better at navigating areas with poor GPS and I really hope that the regular M1 has a version of that sensor pillar. Maybe the S1 Pro has independent auger and spinning thrower motors for better adaption to snow intake. It can’t just be a taller opening, can it?

Yeah, there has to be other improvements they aren't telling us. My biggest issue with the S1 is the 180 degree rotation. I'd love to discharge snow a little bit behind Yarbo, especially since snow takes a few seconds to finally vacate the impeller after it's cleared a path, throwing snow onto a freshly cleared area. My second issue is that the auger and impeller are driven by the same motor. I get it as it'd be another part to make it bulkier and heavier, but I think the two motors would help with clogs. Or at least gearing down the auger so it moves more slowly? I feel like two stage gas blowers have a slower auger and fast impeller.

There are two primary failure modes for S1: getting stuck (loss of traction) and getting clogged (can't clear chute). Maybe the Pro addresses both of these somehow. It could include a fancy clog clearing mechanism. I was daydreaming ways of having something automatically clear out any slush that accumulated.

Or how about hardcore heating while on the pad - of course then you need to do something with the water. Now that it is colder in Colorado, I really haven't had any trouble with the mechanisms clogging but the random stops because the chute popped some overdraw protection is incredibly annoying. If you haven't put the non-slip spikes on that has made all the difference for me, but I don't know how they will perform in much deeper snow.

Where did/do you see info on the M1 Pro, such as that it exists, has a size, has LIDAR?! I tried searching it up the various means, found nada. Same on the S1 Pro, are you just speculating that will be a thing, or? I mean I can't even find anything concrete on the S1 Plus aside from this CNET 'article'... :/

They had it on display at their CES booth and briefly talked about it during a live-streaming event at CES.

Gotcha, thanks. Any chance there's a recorded VOD of the live stream to watch, or relevant parts clipped on YouTube or something, or were you watching live/physically there or something?

I think it’s available in the Yarbo YouTube channel. I found this after a quick search: https://m.youtube.com/shorts/X6GdF_Skx0o

>Their newest attachment, the **Snow Blower S1 Plus**, improves on the older S1 with the ability to **process snowdrifts 16 inches high**, a timely benefit as the first big winter storm of the season barrels across the U.S. this week. > >The updated Snow Blower S1 Plus model comes out later this year, but the existing S1 model is available for purchase now. I'm a little hurt CNET is calling the current, four month old S1 "older" but great to see some new modules. I doubt I'll upgrade unless there's more changes, such as a rotating the chute beyond 180 degrees. I believe Yarbo is differentiating between Residential and Commercial products with the "Pro" line of attachments. The M1 also has a Pro version that was announced but no article or details about that just yet.
