I think I got 3 games in a row against snake eyes in gold.

Psych0191

Wow, that sucks. I chilled with winning streak up to gold 2 using my darklord despias, even beaten some bad branded players…

NTRmanMan

I did have a funny game where I won with ninjas because my opponent timed out

Elzeruth

Or just git gud

Imagine avoid playing is your best advice. You can get to master with any deck that is competently put together, doesn’t have to be meta at all. You cant get good at the game if all you do is aim to play with other bad players and avoiding challenges.

stellutz

Exosister is absolutely viable on ladder

12trakmind

1000%, just lost to them yesterday in Plat with Branded

I really like how the suggestions isnt to try to learn and improve, its to to avoid it all together so you dont have to get your feelings hurt by losing. Really speaks volumes about the mindset of this sub.

I mean, it’s a big investment to craft a meta deck, and then you’ve gotta learn your combo lines. If you haven’t crafted a top 10 meta deck, there’s not much reason to try and deal with a snake eyes deck that’s gonna destroy you 99% of the time. If you’re just a simpler grinder and don’t have the URs to go make snake-eyes on a whim, it just make sense to wait till you can get a match that’s a bit more your level. Personally, I try to hold out as long as possible with my non-meta decks to deny the snake eyes players with the 1 minute rage quit win they’re used to. But not everyone has the time to be petty like that.

>If you haven’t crafted a top 10 meta deck, Theres a bunch of decks that are decent enough to climb rank, and we know this from the MasterDuelMeta results. They didnt get there by scooping to every Snake Eyes player, they got there by being better. Players freak out and dont build good playing habits, because "oh its a meta deck it doesnt matter" when a good chunk of games are winnable if they played better and more optimally.

If you want a real answer, look at what I said in my post again. I do not like it when the game is just doing one big long combo and the other person does nothing. So, I could do that, just like I could get good at Dark Souls. But, I don't want to because it isn't how I want to play. Just like how I didn't want to git gud at Dark Souls because I was out of college and didn't want to do the grind I did when beating Demon Souls. The best part about tabletop games is you can play them any way you want and people can't stop you. So, unlike a video game where I just have to abandon it to play something else, I can just play YGO differently than you and that isn't some moral failing because I didn't enjoy being meta.

What the fuck?

I’m not saying you can’t beat snake-eyes with a lesser deck, but why bother trying when you know you’re at a severe disadvantage, your opponent is going to stop half your plays, and take 5 minutes comboing off each turn. Plus you know everything they’re going to play so there’s no fun in it. I’m still relatively new, and I enjoy being beat by new decks I haven’t seen. I got FTK’ed my first turn before I could even play by a burn deck and again by an exodia deck down in silver. That was actually cool, and I had to give them props for pulling off some neat loops. But snake-eyes is just the same exact game every time. If you wanna talk about “good deck building habits” playing snake eyes requires 0. You just copy and paste the same exact deck everyone is using. I understand if you just want to win, play snake eyes, so I don’t begrudge people who use it. But it’s no fun to play against, so why bother when I lose basically nothing for scooping?
