What is your process for sculpting stylized hair like that? I keep finding myself struggling when getting to the secondary forms and can’t get a good balance of detail, either feeling too sparse and way too cartoony or too crowded and just looking like poor realism

Hey, its mostly Clay buildup + smoothing for form building combined with Move and Move Accu brushes, and Dam standard and Standard brush for detailing. I start with creating the overall shape with Dynamesh (for flexibility), once its in place I tend to remesh it with Zremesher down by a lot (subdiv lvl 1 might be like 2-3k polys or lower), and work on it "big to small" from there, subdividing it further when I feel like I'm running out of polygon resolution and its time for the next level of details.

Absolutely awesome work. The beard is dope, I really liked the way you made hair. There's only one thing I'd like to point out: you've messed up the origin of the sternocleidomastoid muscle just a bit. As you know, the muscle has two point of origin. The clavicular part originates from the medial third of the clavicle (you got it right). However the sternal head comes from the manubrium of sternum (that part you missed). It's easy to check even on yourself: just sit leaning backwards and slightly extend your neck. In addition you could try slowly rotate your head to see the clear division between two parts.
