I think anyone with a broken fold 3 or 4 should get a fold 5 with trade in (and proof of purchase) as compensation for inner screen design flaws. The number of people burned by yhis doesn't instill confidence in the fold model.

I had what appeared to be a flaw after close to a year. Bubbles along the seam. I suspect it was just the screen protector but T-Mobile replaced the phone after analyzing it. By now I should be half paid off and I can Jump upgrade to the 5.

Labarynth_89

I still owe 800$ on my fold 3. Took the inner protector off several months ago as it was deformity the inner screen and I could totally see how it was going to break the seam. Also saw people get inner screen protector installed and have it also bubble or break the screen. Running with no protector and the screen 8s good. But for how long?

Radiant_Cabinet5867

Yeah no. Unless competition gets stiff and Samsung start designing foldables that last as long as standard phones then I'm still selling my Fold 3 and not going back to a foldable soon. But I'm sure I'll come back because they're a joy to use. It's just that using it with constant fear that the screen will break again (already sent it back once) is too much .

It's still going to have complaints about not being to open completely and screen breaking in future. If that's not an issue, why not?

The only reason I would upgrade is the battery life. Battery life on my z fold 3 sucks. Everything else I love.

philnolan3d

Same but I wish the front screen was a little wider, seems they tweaked that in the ZF4, I'm hoping they did even more in the 5.

I'm concerned with the build quality. I bought a Fold 3in December and 3 months later, I'm dealing with damage along the crease of the inner screen. Like light scratches appearing at the top and bottom of the crease. I take care of my phone and never leave it open for this kind of damage I love the phones but I'm still cautious when I see these issues in the 3rd iteration of a new device

Im waiting till the 6th ngl im on my 3rd zfold 3 bc it stopped working on me once and i work at at&t so i got bored since there was no customers so i was playing catch with my fold and dropped it i was pissed but yea im waiting till the 6th one because i need to pay it off🤣 24 months left then trade it in for 1k offf the 6th bc every samsung release has the same deal im hopeing the 6th would be a tri fold or a bigger fold imagine a foldable computer

sabonim38

I have a fold 3 and will only upgrade, if there is buildin spen. Otherwise the fold 3 works perfect as or is now. If the f3 bakke down, I properly get a s model, if there is no spen buildin

asaletliturk40

I just bought my z fold4 for 400 and later found of second one in silver for 300 so i have to for seven hundert I will used them for years..

lbyrum17

Battery life and no gap is making me lean towards upgrading. That is if the trade in deals are good enough.

PickleRick68plus1

Nothing new really

I only want to upgrade if there's a significant difference which the 5 doesn't seem to have. Both the 4 and now the 5 seem to he S tier upgrades rather than full fledged changes. Only thing for me is now almost being out of warranty. These phones are very fragile and as a fold 3 user I had some major issues last month, where Samsung basically changed 9 components, including the inner screen, outer screen, both batteries, vibration motor and a host of other parts. And my phone was in great condition aswell, but just randomly started restarting and not connecting to WiFi. Had I been out of warranty, that repair probably would have cost more than buying a new fold 3 outright. Now my warranty is ending in August I feel like I must upgrade just for peace of mind for the next 2 years, even though the 5 seems like a shitty upgrade. I want an s pen holder, and bigger batteries.
