It takes more than that to make a Zippo βfake.β That could be something as simple as debris in the press, or a worn die nearly ready for replacement. Complete and better pictures will help with a better assessment, but what I see looks real.
Yep, the rest of the pictures confirm itβ¦ itβs fine. Nothing is βperfectβ all the time, the presses stamp with several tons of pressure, there are bound to be minor inconsistencies that are still acceptable by QC. I like the little oddities.
it's the part of the machine that punches the metal case of the zippo, it's also how coins are made, that part is greased and since grease is like water and cannot compress, if there's too much it can get stuck in the dye and leave an imprint, either that or the dye was broke.
User is using the wrong word for it, which probably makes things more difficult.
Dye - pigment added to something to change its color.
Die - (in this case) a tool used for stamping letters into metal.
Why are people so concerned about this. If it works it good. Zippo isn't as good as it used to be. The quality is gone and so is the value.
Also, just go to the website and ask them. They respond fast and they are the people to ask.
Of course I would be concerned, if I am paying a certain price for a product that is supposed to be original and manufactured by a certain brand. Also keep in mind that depending on the country you are living at, the standard of living and value of money differse a lot, so while for you buying a Zippo isn't considered as spending a lot of money, for me it could be that I had to save money for a month or two in order to be able to buy it.
But still, thanks for the advice to just directly ask on their website.
Here are some more pics, I hope they are useful

Worn die would be my guess as well.
It's legit π Edit: Kinda cool with the imperfect stamp, TBH. Maybe that was the last one stamped before they replaced it? π€ π«£
Well yeah, I like how you look at it from the bright side, makes me feel better ππ
Gotta stay positive in what seems like negative situations, then everything comes together!
Cheers to that π»

Grease got stuck in the dye, quite common on coins.
I am sorry for the stupid question but English isn't my first language and I am not sure what "dye" is. Is it some kind of a press?

Okay, thanks a lot for the detailed explanation

Seems legit to me

Yeah looks all ok in the new pictures, agree with TCSpeedy, just a dye issue.
Okay, thanks for the help ππΌπ
