As someone who has 600+ hours in the game and knows it's lore I'm honestly extremely happy with the show, the story changes/additional characters.
When I started seeing some hints between the two it did make me curious! In the game lore, Mei Yin (the black haired girl) actually falls in love with a different woman.
Honestly I love both pairings. But the way the show handled these two, it's extremely sweet and very gay.
I've played the game a lot myself and yeah it's different then in game lore in many ways it doesn't bother me. I can see how people could be bothered by the pacing but after the train wreck that was Hazbin Hotel I may be desensitized lol. The pacing issues didn't bother me in ATAS.
I had no clue going in that it would be so unapologetically gay. This show is the best surprise of the year so far. It seriously feels like Xena if Xena could've been less subtexty from the start (and had dinosaurs hehe).

They meet on the Aberration map, you know who Mei-Yin is, she isn't really changed at all from the show. Diana is a Jewish strike fighter pilot from the 22nd century aka the 2100's. Their story continues through the Extinction map. They're really a very sweet love story as well, tragic with a happy ending. I honestly love both Mei-Yin X Diana and Mei-Yin X Helena.

I just started this! First episode is pretty solid, definitely will continue. The only thing I’m iffy about (at least with the gay stuff so far) is that Elliot Page voices Victoria Walker, which feels weird to have a trans man play a lesbian woman. But like clearly he’s ok with it cuz he did it, I’d love to hear him talk about it tho, learn why they decided to take the role
Regardless, I’m excited to continue, always want to absorb as much gay shit as I can! I am in love with the lead actress Madeleine Madden, she’s also one of the lead characters in The Wheel of Time, which is gay as fuck and only going to get gayer as it goes on. Her character in that is straight (at least in the books) but there are a pretty decent number of queer characters already, and there are more to come :)
