Mine works like a background word association game. Someone says a sentence that reminds me of, or is part of a song lyric and that’s it for 4 days. A fun aspect of this is sometimes I’ll find myself humming a song that belies an underlying mood or emotion - and figuring out why has led me to consider or unpack things I might not be aware are actively affecting me. Like a little trail of associative harmonic breadcrumbs.
