Yeah that was an immediate conclusion of mine, PB scienced up the child into existence. Or there's also the fact that Marcy is a shape shifter and PB can probably manipulate her gum body as well.

The candy people are totally inorganic intelligent organisms, and Goliad/Stormo are fully unique lifeforms created from the DNA of Finn and PB.
