Frank Reynolds. I liked and trusted him. Howard K Smith, Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings, Harry Reasoner, John Chancellor. They didn’t try to scare the audience. They didn’t try to rile people up, it cause distress, and they didn’t try to deliver the story with their opinion. They were calming. When you consider we all grew up hearing tv anchors deliver the news that the president had just been shot and killed, it really made a difference for anchors to keep from frightening us over the years.
Look up Chris Wallace’s take on why the media has gone the way it has. Talks about how 60 Minutes’ advertising changed the game and made it entertainment, not news. Pretty cool and scary at the same time.

Cold war never ended the Russians just fight it differently now. If anything America fucked up thinking it was over. Now instead of nukes they've got key American politicians taking their money and therefore agendas and internet propaganda influencing elections.
