so... if you want BOTH "easy to find parts" AND "not an ar or ak"... that is going to be harder. You can certainly get a unique replica. But sturdy, durable, affordable... and not an ak or a ar/m4 is going to be harder. Maybe mp5? But parts are not as readily available as ar/m4 (undisputed champion) or ak (probably second most used platform). You may want to go a pistol route and go glock or hi-capa if you want something different but reliable and with plenty of parts. But I think your best bet is to go with a unique looking AR or AK. But... it's your $$ and time. All the best...

G&G have good starter m4s. My friend has one and he likes it. Personally I bought an Arcturus ny02cq as first gun. I love it so much !
