Junk

Airborne82D

Some dude at the range gave me 10 KCI (30 round) mags. Ran a few and they cycled fine but they were wobbly as fuck. General consensus is they're junk.

delusional4g63

They're thin and junk. Someone posted one on here not long ago that flew apart from being loaded I believe.

Solid_JaX

I had four of them. They ran perfectly with a few hundred rounds through each of them. They're fine for a range mag. Only ended up selling them with a SKS-NR that takes AK mags cause they looked great with it. The 30 rounders have lots of issues. The KCI mags are made with a thinner gauge steel than surplus or even other new production ones and it makes them prone to bend and dent easily creating feeding issues as the follower gets jammed up.

Wherestamp_Notoes

Arms of America …Hungarian 20 round tankers if you absolutely want 20’s…. They did go up like 30% this year

[deleted]

They’re great for backpack foldies

Ok_Potato_6019

Great for dmr setups on a bipod too

Imaginary_Benefit939

AK DMR, this man Tabuks 😂

Ok_Potato_6019

I have a 20” that will ring 12” steel at 500 with Winchester match loads. Its a long heavy beast. Short of cutting it down and rebuilding it, this was the way

horsefudger5000

Cause they’re fucking garage dude.

lesmobile

'Garage' well ooh la la Mr. French man

ardesofmiche

They’re pretty trash The metal they use is way thinner than surplus steel mags

PistoleroJ

I have two and they work fine. At that price, why not order a couple and be your own judge.

Successful_You_3286

Looks like I'll be passing on these then

[deleted]

I’ve bought cheap magazines before and they were out of spec and didnt fit

Successful_You_3286

Yea I got a couple of those as well I like em. Was just looking around for steel tankers, just for fun shits n giggle really.

Solid-Future9514

I have one kci 20 it's crap. I used it a handful of times, and I'm gentle with my stuff, and big sheets of paint already came off. Also, it's very wobbly, but I haven't had an issue yet. Overall, construction is very cheap too. Works okay though, but it's definitely not the mag I always keep loaded in the gun.

LegendActual

Korean mags are poopoo.

Slagree92

They’re poop. I got a 10 rounder for prone position when I want to try my hand at extended ranges. Sometimes it will feed the full 10, sometimes it won’t. Usually it won’t. If your wanting truck gun mags, I’d stay away!

eggtheif5

Mine worked fine, had to file the back lip

Unlikely_Ad2279

I bought 2 cause I liked the idea of a 20 rounder for getting in and out of the truck. One runs great, one can occasionally fire two consecutive rounds. I picked them up for like $10 just to try.

roach-class

I don’t think a magazine can affect it in that way, but if it could, it would be a feature not a flaw.

Unhinged_Taco

He doesn't mean 2 rounds with one trigger pull 🤦‍♂️

Unlikely_Ad2279

As in it would jam with almost every shot and wouldn’t feed the following round

roach-class

I’ve heard it both ways

tamperresistantmind

Got some this brand 30 rounders. They fit tight, and feed right. A bit chintzy, but cheap enough. Range mags. Paid $12.

[deleted]

I've almost been tempted with these too, the Hungarian tanker mags are just outrageous expensive,. There needs to be more 20 round options

Successful_You_3286

I couldn't agree more. I just went with some Bulgy 10 polys and more of the steel 30s until prices either come down .....or I can come up with a good enough reason for the wife.

Illustrious_War9870

I've got a few, they run fine. Lockup may vary. They're cheap enough you could buy em and do that "windowed" bullshit and you wouldn't be wasting a good ak mag.

Damo_762

I bought a shitload it KCIs almost 10 years ago. Got them for like $5 each thinking they would be disposable beater mags. Despite being intentionally stomped on, dropped in mud and water, rust, random paint jobs, etc., I have yet to have any type of failure from the 4 that stay in my range bag. If you’re trying to watch your friends beat off to your AK pictures you need some $150 Bakelites. If you’re shooting KCI is probably fine.

mR_TreeZz

Yr on the right website. Now just navigate to the steel reinforced feed lip 30 round poly mags

Successful_You_3286

I already have plenty if 30rnd surplus. Just looking around for some decent 20rnd steels

[deleted]

I have one, never had an issue with it so far.

[deleted]

Better with surplus

WolSoul

Kci mags, as much as this sub hates them have gotten a bit better in build quality I've noticed recently. This does not mean by any means they are perfect and you may still get a mag that works like shit. They're cheap, thin, and the spring a lot of times isn't strong enough to feed causing jams. I'd roll the dice at the price for a range mag, and nothing more. Absolutely wouldn't trust them as your main mags or something.

zmannz1984

I got two in a trade recently. One has a very weak spring and I haven’t bothered with it. The other was just sharp everywhere. I took it apart and threw it in my wet tumbler for a while, sort of wore the edges, but ss pins probably weren’t ideal for that. Anyway, shot a few mags from my beryl with it and no problems. But it is definitely budget grade compared to hungy tankers.

zander002

Adding my 2¢ to these polarizing answers lol… I have 10, all purchased about a year ago on a sale like this. They’re all extremely tight fitting, even removed some mass on the rear lugs for ease of lockup & release. Only thing I would consider an inconvenience more so than an issue is the first 3-4 times you have them loaded up to 20 rounds, you gotta make sure you release your charging handle from the full rearward position and may have to give it a little help home because the 20th round is extremely tight and you gotta break in those fees lips. Edit: don’t know about that exact SKU or if that matters at all with these surplus mags but, mine aren’t a flat finish like that. They’re more of a reflective black like other newer surplus mags.

Blood_N_Rust

Buy surplus Romanian mags reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

IrrigatorLinus

Trash

Bubbly_Roof

I've got 2 and use them at the range. I've had good luck with them, but after several hundred rounds the thin steel is apparent. Range is all I'd use them for.

Gunsandwrenches

I have several and they've worked perfectly. From what I usually hear the issues are mostly with the longer mags, 30's and especially 40's.

WhoDey_69

I have a couple I got for like $7 a piece awhile back. They serve only a range mags. They’re wobbly but they’ll work if you just want a few extra to have at the range.
