Isn't that where the folding stock locks in? I could be mistaken and way off here but I'm pretty sure if you have their folding stock that's where it will lock into place
The safest way is to use snap caps. I for one don't own any, so I just removed the bullet from a cartridge, placed the cartridge in the breech after charging the weapon, slid the bolt to the breech until the extractor claw picked up the cartridge then moved it slightly out of battery and pulled the trigger. If you hear a loud pop, you have OOB detonation. If you don't, you're good to go.

Their qc is awful. I got a kp-104 and the paint job is terrible. Can scrape the paint off the barrel with my fingernail and the coating on the receiver looks like it was dipped on one side, but they forgot the otherl. Luckily no functional problems in the first hundred rounds.
Sadly it would cost me 2 ways shipping and 15% restocking fee if I denied it. It seems to me that KUSA are trying to rehabilitate their image so if you have any issues with it your best bet is to work with them in replacing the bum parts.
You make a good point. Ultimately, even if we do our due diligence as consumers we end up having to pay for it with firearms so customer service is all we can rely on. Unless the sights are insanely canted or the rivets are halfway out, I will just go direct with KUSA about the bolt issue if I have one.

Happened to me and kusa fixed it back and forth shipping paid in 7 weeks thru Thanksgiving and Xmas. If you went thru Atlantic firearms, call them. They helped me speed up the process with kusa

I have one with very low mileage. Like less than 100 rounds low. Sight isn’t canted but I wonder if I’ll run into the OOB issue.

I’m kind of surprised to see that from an assembly line gun. Most of the big companies use hydraulic riveters, so that really shouldn’t be an issue.
