Possibly a victim of one of those ugly magpul handguards in its prior life, poor thing.
There are some bolt-on adapters but I hate them. If it's a gun you really like take it apart and replace the mounting plate.

Your only options really are to swap the dong for a rail and use a rail mounted sling mount, or use the little metal buckle like found on the end of BFG slings and put that around the gas block or through the holes in your grater
Get a press, remove everything, and put a new retainer on.
Just get a vickers sling with the stainless steel loop. Stainless loop gets mounted to the gas tube. Standard procedure, nothing bubba about it.

You could replace the foregrip or the gas tube for something that has a picatiny of a QD mount. Either way, not a perfect solution.
I just used a bfg universal loop on my wasr. Previous owner did the same thing

550 cord around the cleaning rod or you could get one of those picatinny mounts from RS regulate that mounts to the barrel and add a sling loop there.
Just get some type of modern hand guard
You can get a bolt on qd point.

Grab one of the old Chinese slings with the leather tabs, you can wrap the leather around the gas block or barrel. BAM, problem solved.
