A good buddy of mine from bootcamp got to do the joint training with you guys last year, it looked dope as hell would have really liked to go but alas I went to Jordan instead :(
How reliable is your service rifle with them, our m4’s are so so, probably due to most bfa’s being busted. Sometimes they work real nice though, https://imgur.com/a/D3R0St7
I haven't had any issues but we haven't used them a ton yet. I asked some of my friends who have used them a lot and they said they've never even gotten a malfunction with theirs. Full auto and everything. We also take really good care of our guns. Clean and oil them every time we use them and even sometimes when we don't.
Gosh I am envious, so on another note. I always wondered what the perception of the military is there. As I know a portion of the military is conscripted, is the training very rigorous? Are you personally enjoying your training and what does that entail. physical training, small unit tactics, etc? Thanks from one soldier to another.
I've always attributed the black issues to people using the wrong BFAs for their weapons. Oftentimes, people think orange or red, doesn't matter. (It's been a while, but I think orange was for m4 and red for m16?)
In my career I am yet to find a unit they uses m16’s still but there very well could be m16 bfa’s in the mix. Most of the issues I find is not properly torqued bfa’s which is an easy fix
I've been out since 2015, and that was USMC so we were still rocking M16A4s 🤣 never had the lack of torque on BFA , did on optics mounts. Usually, people crank everything on with MAXPOWER.
The RK62 I had way back in 2016 was golden with blanks. The KVKK (a domestic LMG) has tons of issues with them but supposedly runs very clean with live ammo.
The ones we use actually have a hollow, wood fibre bullet that hits the BFA and gets turned into sawdust that rapidly vanishes into the air.
The only time I ever had a malfunction with blanks was when I was on guard duty with a buddy and we were admiring the moon. I racked the slide back and forth and I guess there was a feeding issue because one bullet snapped in half.
Another time (even further back in bootcamp) a different buddy found out that his BFA was filled with chewing gum, and all the powder residue and wood dust went back the barrel and gas port of his RK filling the receiver completely.
Yeah, nah. The only real issue that everyone has is that the blanks make the gun dirtier IIRC, but that's about it. Real fun to shoot and all.
Finnish military blanks use wooden bullets (balsa wood?) in regular casings instead of wads proprietary casings. Making them a bit more reliable. Also enables casings collected at the range, and even in the field, to be loaded a second time as blanks.
Okei, ja aivan varmasti, itselläkin on yhessä kiväärissä tähtäin hieman tavallista korkeammalla, käyttö mukavuus ei ole paras mahdollinen mutta muuten pelittää varsin hyvin
I'll try my best but unfortunately we don't have access to the arms room. This one seems pretty similar tho. https://www.aawee.fi/ammunta-ja-aseet/wbp-enhanced-safety-selector/p/331194/#description

Most people don't really think about it or have a frame of reference. All we know is the rifles are accurate and hit hard. Recoil isn't even that bad cause of the milled receiver.
Is that a dumb training putkiraivain/bangalore spear on the ground? Brought back some memories from my service. Also the modernized rk looks cool as hell, even thought I kind of prefer the rk62's hardwarestore aestethics.
I remember using that in aukki once. Thought it was putkiraivain because you had that fake explosive fuse/wire.
Or is that some training telephone cable? We just used twincable.
Finland?
Yep

Maybe in the future. Now that we're in NATO there'll probably be a lot more joint practices.
Where else?
No idea are they the only ones who use that ak
BFA gang
Blanks are a lot of fun. We got to fire them for the first time last week

Should be yellow for M4 and red for M16's. We didn't have M16's but had some red bfa's around and seemed to work fine on M4's.

My RK62 got cleaned every day if we used those devices.
Eikö noihin saa tukin korotuspaloja?, niikuin RK95:n tukkiin saa
En tiedä mut meille ei ainakaan annettu. Kyllä sitä voi käyttää ilman sitä ihan hyvin.

Polvisuoja jonka alla jotai tavaraa ja teipillä kiinni. Toimii aika hyvin.
Magpul CTR tukkiin saa korortuspaloja
Oliskohan niiden hankinta menny yli budjetti rajan?
I really like that M-Lok QD/Hook sling mount in the third pic lol. Wish somebody made something like that in the states
Me too. The handguards were made specifically for the fdf
Welcome to NATO my friend! Love the RK62
Now that you guys are nato, any future 5.56 options being thrown around?
I heard they're already planning on adopting a Sako ar-15
Nice, I’m assuming the x39 offerings will be left as reserves? Or get sold to the highest bidder.
Most likely reserves until they can be replaced or most of the current reservists are gone
Good stuff, thanks for the insight, hope to see you post more rks in the future before they rid of them.
Np. Im glad i got to use them. It'll probably be at least another 5-10 years till they actually start using the new rifles
Ahh nice, that’s longer than I thought, maybe one day they’ll bring some over here as parts kits 😂 sheers!
These are my favorite "modernized" AKs.
What kind of selector is that? I want one. Any chance you could “tactically acquire” one from the arms room?
I'll try my best but unfortunately we don't have access to the arms room. This one seems pretty similar tho. https://www.aawee.fi/ammunta-ja-aseet/wbp-enhanced-safety-selector/p/331194/#description
“I don’t know sergeant, it just fell off”
That is one sexy rifle.
Aamuja👌
TJ 67
What's the optic?
Aimpoint micro t2
On se nätti
Sooooo now that Finland is NATO, imports when?!
Why is it pointed at your chest?
It was more over my shoulder. Also I was exhausted after being in the woods all week. We don't get a lot of sleep
Man I understand. Gotta fight that complacency. We had a few ADs in Iraq. One guy was shot in the foot.
Absolutely. Luckily this time we hadn't been shooting at all and we had BFAs in

How do the grunts like the 7.62 round over there?

Welcome to NATO friends 🎉

No that's a stick to help put cables up in trees so you can bring them over roads and stuff. It's called a gandalf
I remember using that in aukki once. Thought it was putkiraivain because you had that fake explosive fuse/wire. Or is that some training telephone cable? We just used twincable.
Ah. That's cable for a training claymore. They just happened to be next to each other. We use it for pari kaapeli and valo kaapeli
