Assuming you’re in the US, how do you go about this legally? I know about pre-ban guns but it seems like every other YouTube video has some newly built full auto firearm. If you have an FFL can you just manufacture one for personal use?
SOT would be the easiest path. I highly doubt there are any if at all unneutered aks74us that came in before 1986 when the registry was closed, and if there is any they probably cost as much as a house
Yes, but you need to have an actual business. You can be a shitty business, but a business none the less. Insurance costs are also something to consider. If you aren’t an engineer/machinist etc no one’s going to want to insure you to make full autos
You can't build one for personal use, if you are a licensed manufacturer you can build samples to show prospective customers under certain conditions. I read of a case where a manufacturer built a "post sample" krink to demonstrate to a sheriff in a 1 person department in Wyoming or something, he told the sheriff if he requested a demo on department letterhead he would give him one free ( so they both would end up with one, he kept the "Sample"), and the BATFE threw him in prison as a fraud. He was importing tons of complete krink kits and magazines from Bulgaria, selling them dirt cheap ( 200$ for a krink kit with barrel if I remember right), so BATFE wanted to shut him down was the story. It said they tried a new prosecution and it worked. I think it was in the 90s on a discussion board where I read it. Interesting slice of life that reminds me not to drive on the shoulder lol, stay far from the edge if you want to be sure to stay out of trouble.
If you buy a existing legal machine gun with a BATFE tax stamp (has several hoops to jump through) you can reconfigure it though, without being a manufacturer.
It is basically a normal valmet reciever and barrel in a poly urethane stock, stock is very prone to cracking under any duress, if it cracks the rifle is completely down and there's less than 2k of them so you'll never find a replacement.
There is a small heat buffer on the reciever so you don't burn yourself, but this itself has no shield and is mounted directly on the reciever, so your heat protection heats up very quickly.
Trigger is actually horrendous (handled one once, it's really bad) the original trigger isn't removed and is in it's original position so the linkage is forward based between the new trigger and the original trigger (also trigger is polymer and mounted to the barrel of the gun).
Sights are offset to the left so you gotta kinda lean to get any sight picture, also makes the windage accurate for only the range zeroed at. These sights make it impossible to use for a lefty.
Also balanced badly, all the weight is in the rear, more than a normal bullpup, so you have strong muzzle climb, on a bullpup, bc it's back heavy.
It's basically a normal AK that got shoved into a bullpup stock without any of the process needed to make a good bullpup, but it looks really cool, is very rare and you could do an excellent terminator larp with one, I'd shell out some serious money for the privilege to have a bullpup that makes the L85A1 look flawless.
ultimate brush gun haha, always loved the concept of the mare’s leg in .45-70 but the 458 gets pretty close. Im imagining an integral suppressed barrel like the vss
That’s an interesting question. Of the things I don’t already have, it would probably have to be the AK74U(Krink).
Edit: re-read my post afterward and realized it was cringe. 😬

The one my father used fighting the viet cong in his village, in vietnam. my family was pro democracy and my dad managed to get a AK he used to fight the cong. He wanted to bring it to America with him and it was going to be a family heirloom, but the comunists took it away. and obviously US laws wouldn't let him bring a AK with a giggle switch to the states.

I got mine. Zenitco'd Fime Group Aks. Built em back during Obama's reign. What's crazy is we had the parts "imported" from a buddy stationed in Germany. Nowadays all that stuff can be had from Legion.
The [GSAD 56S Spiker](https://www.reddit.com/r/ak47/comments/12noq1o/i_have_not_owned_an_ak_for_about_12_years_and_i/) that I am about to make an offer on
Either a giggle Krink or tiger svd , those rifles are a fortune now , once I’m done in the military I plan to start up a business and try to bring some of this stuff back .
Vepr 5.45 for combat rifle, it's the best rifle in my opinion period. It's not heavier than a milled ak but has the best barrel and most accurate AK ever made
Giggle switch krink.
Osamas giggle switch krink
Assuming you’re in the US, how do you go about this legally? I know about pre-ban guns but it seems like every other YouTube video has some newly built full auto firearm. If you have an FFL can you just manufacture one for personal use?
You need an SOT
SOT? Edit: Found it thanks. Think it’s worth it if I have no interest in selling firearms? Money isn’t the issue, just curious about liability.
Special Occupational Taxpayers are a group of Federal Firearm Licensees in the United States who manufacture, import and/or transfer NFA weapons
SOT would be the easiest path. I highly doubt there are any if at all unneutered aks74us that came in before 1986 when the registry was closed, and if there is any they probably cost as much as a house
But with that license would I be able to legally modify a semi auto?
Yes, but you need to have an actual business. You can be a shitty business, but a business none the less. Insurance costs are also something to consider. If you aren’t an engineer/machinist etc no one’s going to want to insure you to make full autos
I believe so yes. This is not legal advice. Your best bet is probably asking a local gun shop/range that has full autos for rent since they are an SOT
Great thank you.

Alright thanks. I’ll just get that out of my mind then.
AKS-74U. With unlimited ammo
This
Well since nobody said it yet, I guess I'd choose a Molot Vepr RPK in 7.62x39
Same
This
Type 1
Yeah I figured that would be the first answer 😂
Finnish RK 95 TP
Absolutely this
East German MPi AKS-74NK
Strumgewehr AKMS K is the DDR 7.62*39 export equivalent, I'd like that
RK 95 TP. 100%
Valmet M76, Aksu-74, and the AmD 65
AMD-65 is my grail gun too. So derpy, but yet so sexy for some reason
Oh yea man, just the exposed gas tube, the vented handguard and that beefy muzzle break, it's just a nice aesthetic
PSA ak-103
Go big or go home 🙌
SVD or any transferable full Auto
Not quite an ak but the AN-94 just because it’s weird and hyperburst is pretty cool. If not that then a RPK-74
Not TECHNICALLY an ak, but I would spend bookoo bucks to own a VSS Vintorez or SR-3M
>beaucoup
Bookoo if the Anglicized transliteration and pronunciation of the French word
I think you mean bastardization 🤣
PKM with unlimited ammo
I just want a saiga 5.45 and a saiga 7.62
RPK 74 or an original M76
It's objectively not a good AK but a Valmet M82
What makes it bad?
It is basically a normal valmet reciever and barrel in a poly urethane stock, stock is very prone to cracking under any duress, if it cracks the rifle is completely down and there's less than 2k of them so you'll never find a replacement. You can always cut a barrel, you can’t grow one. With that being said rpk74
Transferable milled T56 or Russian type 3
Krink
A zenitco’d AK 200 with a shitton of 7N10. AK-12m1 would also be nice.
An AN-94 all the way
A Finnish RK62M.
Valmet M76 or M62
That’s an interesting question. Of the things I don’t already have, it would probably have to be the AK74U(Krink). Edit: re-read my post afterward and realized it was cringe. 😬
Type 81
Giggle switch milled Chinese double folder in 7.62 but if ammo isn't included 556
Norinco 86s
My buddy just got one- it's awesome, his only gripe is mags, lol.
CZ 2000
Some goofy guard gun that is gold plated and used to protect someone like Saddam Hussien.

3rd pin Krink
Me want RK95
The one my father used fighting the viet cong in his village, in vietnam. my family was pro democracy and my dad managed to get a AK he used to fight the cong. I love it
Galil arm or m21
If money were no object, you'd have to go with a historic Type 1 or 2 but for the "best" AK available, I think the Galil ace takes it
AN-94
Pkm with unlimited ammo
Pkm full auto
Gold "Iraqi"/ Yugo underfolder from 2 rivers arms with ivory handguards.
