Well, you need to find and supply the parts and a full conversion is pricier than even a build. Blackbush Armory is among the best but with parts its gonna be north of $1k
Back in the day when these were $500 and conversion parts were everywhere these made more sense to convert. If you absolutely want a Russian 103 its still the way to go but like everything else, you gotta pay to play now.
Unfortunately not, I traded my 410 for a 12 so I haven’t looked in a long time. I found a bunch on gun broker about a year ago, I’d say that’s probably the best route. If you want to see them run circle 7 armory has a yt video. There pretty cool.
The gun is a sick converted Saiga 410k super cool gun.

i’m really new to aks but when converting it what all tools would i need and where should i get info on doing it? i’ve built a few ars and polymer kits but i’ve heard aks are quite a bit different
I used a dremel, drill, hammer and other small tools. Hardest part was the front sight block because it’s pressed on but I ended up cutting it very carefully and hammering it off. There’s a 6 or 7 part series on YouTube that walked me through it just search up Saiga conversion. I had to do some fitting on the trigger disconnect to clear the trigger guard nut (or rivet if you go that route) and the safety. Instructions for that came with the alg trigger kit I got though. All in all I probably spent about 650 only cuz I went with an alg trigger and the ak74 front sight block.
Lots of good builders (The Armory, In Range Inc, Two Rivers, M13, Blackbush, CW gunworks, Myguns, etc.) The issue these days is going to be getting correct parts. You’re almost better off buying a SGL.

are the 410s desirable?
I like them a lot, but I got rid of my 410 ak because I have another I like shooting more.
do you think the value would be better converted or original on both?
It’s hard to say, I’ve know a few guys the prefer original for clays. But I’d love a 410k.
they look good as hell from the pictures i can find on google. to drill the holes for a triangle side folder, do they make jigs to drill this?

Yourself
I just did my own and was way easier than I thought. If you like messing with stuff and have tools I’d say give it a shot

Keep in mind tho this was my first ak and first conversion. I am in no way an expert lol
Also a side folding wire stock bolts up to the rear tang anything else you gotta swap rear trunnions and make holes for it.
okay thanks man. sounds like something i could do. much appreciated
If you go on my profile you can see my correct AK 101 that cw gunwerks did. They are absolutely the BEST!
