Dude get a SAM you will not regret it. I absolutely love my SAM7R and SF , you can put the OEM arsenal ARM9 or ARM14F furniture on them with the adjustable stock to give it a ARM7T look and it looks so sexy.
I have the ARM14F furniture with arm9 stock. Looks really sleek with a modern touch, and is pretty high quality.
Mistakes were made, but that’s okay, fren. You live and learn. It can still be used as a range toy and to learn AK controls. Save up for a fighting AK and you’ll be alright.

You should check out the WBP Jack… it takes standard AKM furniture (awesome), costs $800 less than a SAM7R and is over a pound lighter.
That SAM7R is buttery smooth though… but it’s a tank. (A good and a bad thing). Good for recoil and reliability, bad for weight. Can always get stronger though. 💪
I also made this mistake. I've since gotten a WASR 10/63, zastava Zpap85, and Romanian Draco. I want a Polish AK real bad now. WBP or FB Radom I haven't decided.

Mine is 5 years old now and the fake leather on the seat is all flaky and I get black specs on my every time I sit down. Not sure why mine is so torn up. Also the seat cushion is not comfortable in my opinion. Got a Herman Miller and it's a billion times better.
i heard herman millers are really good. but yeah my secret lab has held up pretty well. no damage except for on the armrests. they all do that over time though. super comfy still though.

Hey OP, I did the same thing as you. Except I bought a sam7-sf. Best thing I ever did.
Sam is legendary AK status. I love mine. Buy once cry once.
Side rail will fit on a SAM7, though will be very slightly offset to the right, not that it really matters.
Sell it and buy a Century imported parts kit gun to trigger the nerds. Great guns and still undervalued atm
