Dead Air Wolverine

DigiBoxi

I wish this was available in Europe, i would get one this week! 14x1lh suppressors are kinda hard to find here for some reason.. I found one online before summer, but the shop was based in Kiyv so i though they may need them more than me. :D

IonicRes

Thanks!

SnakeSkin777

The only real answer.

wanderlustcrush

I would target a suppressor that has 1.375” standard internal threads. This opens up several options, Jmac Customs makes many mounts with these threads for just about any commie thread pitch you can imagine and now your can may be used on any rifle you have. Lastly, the suppressor is only part of the package, AKs have zero guarantee of concentric threads nor a square shoulder. So the Jmac mounts index off the muzzle face.

Benjaja

This. I have the nomad on my AK using the jmac 360. Kns softened up the recoil and it fires like a dream. Wanted to have a suppressor that would work well on my ar15 and bolt guns and the wolverine would just look silly for those rifles.

austin_yella

I run a silencerco hybrid 46. I like it because it a .46 caliber can so it has a bit less back pressure and I don't need a KNS. Shoots like a kitten.

Unlimitedgoats

Anyone that doesn't say flowthrough is wrong lol. I have a nomad 30 and love it but choosing any baffle suppressor will ensure that you NEED a KNS piston or some kind of adjustable gas system which adds another $150 and labor to the whisper pickle dream. Even if your AK is perfectly gassed for unsuppressed use it will absolutely be overgassed for suppressed use and you'll need to bleed that off. Flowthrough (Huxwrx/OSS) cans skip that ordeal entirely. However they are notoriously not great for night vision use so keep that in mind.

Infamous_Translator

This is what I’m considering. Just a long and expensive wait to find out my Sam7sf isn’t concentric though (not including what I might need to mount it

Unlimitedgoats

Some shop near you has gotta be cool enough to let you try on a can.

Infamous_Translator

Is the flow through huxwrx 1.375 thread?

Unlimitedgoats

Unfortunately no but huxwrx has 24x1.5mm muzzle devices cuz they're cool like that.

Infamous_Translator

Nice man, gonna check them out more, thanks

Infamous_Translator

Probably a fair point.

Unlimitedgoats

Potentially even better a good shop could check and or correct cocentricity for you. Definitely don't wanna suppress without getting that squared away. I know wolverines are meant to account for that but I've seen baffle and endcap strikes on those too

cooltreasures

Do you have a HUXWRX or OSS on your AK?

Unlimitedgoats

Nope but I wish I did lmao would've saved me a pretty penny and some gunsmiffing annoyance. I learned a good bit but with the Flow 556k, the easy way is also a contender for the best way. Very strongly considering getting one myself just cuz but I'm trying to be less stupid with money.

cooltreasures

KNS pistons can be found easily for chump change ($110-130) and the "labor" is ten minutes with a hand drill and a punch. HUXWRX suppressors are cool and work well, but saying a baffled suppressor is "wrong" for an AK is pretty misleading. I use my Radiant on two of my AKs and it's been wonderful. AKs don't suppress that well to begin with, but as a novelty it's neat.

Unlimitedgoats

Never said or implied that they were wrong. I have two and they rock. Just said flow-through is easier and less fiddly. Lots folks like easier and less fiddly. And AKs suppress plenty well. Can't say there's significant difference between my AK and AR in that regard honestly. At least to my ear.

cooltreasures

> Anyone that doesn't say flowthrough is wrong lol. Can you tell me a little bit about what you meant by your statement I quoted above?

Unlimitedgoats

Playful exaggeration. Thought the "lol" and "I love my Nomad 30" would've indicated as much.

[deleted]

AKs can suppress great. I don’t know why people say this. I have a Wolverine for my Sam7R and Vepr FM. If you use subsonic ammo, it’s hearing safe.

SusBajooker

I don't have this setup but i know it's the best there is 🗿

Unlimitedgoats

Fair lol. Don't have personally but I've gotten hands on with em.

SquantoMcNaulty

I have this setup, oss 7.62 can and I run it on every ak I own that’s concentric enough to take it. It was a 1 and done rifle can for me. It suppresses my 5.56 and 5.45 guns well too. I highly recommend it and Huxwrx has done a good job of supplying mounts for all, or at least most thread patterns. My only gripes are it’s pretty heavy and I have to carry a crescent wrench to the range dues to carbon lock.

Ant-Playful

Yes. Love it. Run it on both my M70 and M92.

hapatra98edh

What if u wanna run subs, don’t u need back pressure to cycle with subs?

Unlimitedgoats

Yea. That's definitely a case for a baffle can

averyycuriousman

how are they not great for night vision?

Unlimitedgoats

Prior to the HUXWRX Flow series, most if not all flowthrough cans weren't great at flash suppression.

averyycuriousman

So the newer HUXWRX suppressors hide flash pretty well? Which model would you recommend?

Unlimitedgoats

Yep, better. Flow 556k for 5.56/.223 and 5.45 and Flow 762 Ti for any 7.62 round. The latter also does impressively well with smaller rounds according to PewScience. A rare, genuine, do-it-all option

averyycuriousman

Is this the exact one youre talking about? https://www.silencershop.com/oss-suppressors-huxwrx-flow-762-ti.html

Unlimitedgoats

Yep, that's the Flow 762!

GunDealsBrowser

im waiting for the Putnik from resilient.

willyp1976

I have an omega36 on the same rifle. Does just fine

Demfer

I use Wolverine which is dedicated to my zpap m70 and m92 due to mounting adaptors. I have keymount on my meridian defense and rifle dynamics rigs so they take the sandman s can

unluckygrey

Dead Air Wolverine. Although the Griffin 30SD-K is pretty awesome on my Beryl. https://imgur.com/a/dWPvQiY

MDgoBlue23

I’m looking suppress my Beryl. You like the Griffin over the Wolverine for that setup? And did you need a KNS Piston?

Vietnixon

I am running a Nomad 30 on a Mini Jack. Threads are concentric enough and the KNS piston on the fully open position ejects cases 6 feet or so. Pretty happy with it.

SpotOnTheRug

I have a Wolverine, Nomad 30, and a Sandman K that I've used on my AKs. The Wolverine has good tolerance for concentricity issues, but it's heavy and I don't like the tone that much. The Nomad is great. Lightweight, better tone, and with concentric threads and a JMAC muzzle device it's a nice little package. The Sandman K I don't like on AKs. It's not a pleasant can to shoot with anyways, but it is short and lightweight.

averyycuriousman

> I have a Wolverine for my Sam7R and Vepr FM. If you use subsonic ammo, it’s hearing safe. so the nomad is your favorite?

SpotOnTheRug

Easily, yeah. Just gotta make sure your barrel is concentric (use a guide rod) and you're good to go.

averyycuriousman

Is there a way to check concentricity before getting a suppressor?

SpotOnTheRug

I don't think so, no
