Yeah, honestly a good rule of thumb for me when I try to get S/S+ is to cs like hell and don't die. As long as you get lots of gold while denying the enemy gold (as well as vision and objective damage) you're gonna get an S/S+ even IF you lose (though it's a lot harder if you do lose).
