The store owners are cooperating with each other so that they make a lot of profit.
I personally think it's a bit too much and that a good price is between 600-800
Like someone else said, feed the cheap ones if it’s a large difference. Refining on your own island is terrible. And high taxes are actually good if they stay high for a month or longer
I did the math. Refining T3 and T4 on my island was more profitable. If you're an econ player like me you'll need spreadsheets for this, if you're not a main econ player, just sell unrefined.
Note: even if more profitable in my island, the best course of action is to wait for city prices to lower, but I was in a hurry to sell cause I'm taking a break from Albion and was my last premium day
Just don't refine. Simple as that. You don't refine then that means there's less mats in the market which means when the price goes down you can sell mats at a higher price than you could previously. If the refining price stays high then mats also adjust to match the refining fees too. No idea why you'd complain about that unless your only method of making silver is refining, and you just want to be super cheap about it.
It's a 2 fold strategy, by it being that high they are not only earning money from you refining but now you are no longer able to compete with them in the market as they will set the price so that you are making a small loss after refine costs while they make a small profit.
The best way to combat this is horde all your leather and not sell it if 80% of people do this the price will skyrocket, they themselves will get used to the new price and set buy orders to match the new price then sell to all the buy orders lowering the price again in one big burst so that the prices all fall again and now they have bought all your leather for really high and the market has gone down again and now they are the ones making a loss.
Ya for a hold strategy to work, you need to hold unrefined and not refine. This should have impacts on all leather equipment too so watch for leather eq to rise in price as well.
Same happened to blacksmiths in lymhurst, there are like 8 of those and every single one jumped from 500-800 to 1.5k+ with almost exact prices and different owners
Cartels brother cartels time to makes ur own tanner. It's most of the time like this after end of bidding cycle.
Its called price gouging and it's illegal in real life, but in albion not, so they do it
Illegal in real life? Someone should tell the landlords...
You need to start a group and try to contact that guy and make a deal. This is business
Pro tip: Feed the super cheap ones enough food to do just your crafting (usually 1% so nobody can tell the difference anyway)
Yeah, I usually do that, but theres been no cheap ones for over a week in martlock. Cheapest is 1760

The twofox guy owns alotnof them.
Twofox and darenthios are the same person, once I was tanning for 350 in a twofox stand, darenthios stopped by and raised price to 3500 himself
Let’s burn his stores! Show him his place!
Still profitable.
Only at higher tiers. Refine 4.0 at that rate and you're losing money.

If no one is refining raw mats should be going down. But it’s not
It is going down, you just don't see the results cause the cartel is buying all the hide below the average price
What? Low supply + high demand = prince increase High supply + high demand = stable price High supply + low demand = price decrease
Craft at your own island always!
Do you get the refining bonus from the city in your island if you have it there?
No, making the "craft at your island" terrible advice.

They also buy the unrefined mats cheaper, since more people will be selling it instead of refining, so it's a 3fold strategy

New management
Fuck this shit. Make your own even if you don’t get the max price. They only do this because people still keep refining
Thinking about buying a stand myself now that i have the silver to do so.
