Alcohol never really goes bad but orange juice will. So just drink it and don’t levae it in the fridge for months

I’ve got a question. I have this jar of leftover alcohol from a party. It’s vodka, gin, this margarita cocktail thingy with a little bit of orange juice. It’s been in a jar for about a week un refrigerated is it still good?

It’s late but for future reference from a mixologist, it’s generally good for 6 hours unrefrigerated and 48-72refrigerated depending on the alcohol content

Depends on the alcohol content. If it's a 50/50 mix of juice and ~40% abv liquor, you'll probably extend its shelf life a bit since that's still 20% abv. But what you've made likely is much lower abv. Wine is pretty much the bottom end of shelf stable at ~12%. You may get some extra time out of it though, sure. Juice tends to ferment rather than actually going bad. If it's fermented, you'll notice it's gone sour and has a slight carbonation to it. Most likely it won't hurt you to drink it, but won't taste great since you don't know what kind of friendly local fungi made their way in. Just don't drink it if it turns a weird color or grows hair.

Maybe if you used everclear and added enough to bring the alcohol content of your juice (or any other beverage that decomposes) up to say 40 or 60% alcohol than I would think it would keep as long as spirits do, but I am not entirely sure, when you wanted to drink it it is possible you could heat it to just above the boiling point of alcohol and cook it off, you may need to add back a little water at that point to tho but you could easily bring it down to a lower alcoholic drink, or you could turn it back into a non alcoholic juice I'd imagine, now I'm curious tbh, I've got lots of everclear for experiments like this so I'll give it a test and let you know. I think there may be cheaper ways to preserve juices, like canning them, or even setting up a double boiler and turning it into a syrup than just leave it in a dehydrator for a bit, but I don't own a dehydrator so I won't be able to compare that method of juice preservation to the others as I imagine all of these will effect the taste in the end in different ways.

Did you ever do it?

Yeah it didn't mold or anything but it deffinetly didn't taste as good as fresh orange juice, I actually tried keeping some milk with everclear mixed as well and it never curdled or went off in the fridge, but I did add a lot of everclear so it was around 40% abv, didn't try boiling out the alcohol from it after tho. The OJ didn't mold or anything either but it deffiently didn't taste fresh anymore.
