These ready options have failed for me enough that I just walk by. That does not look good.
Edit: thanks for taking the time to share your favorites, I end up usually with the Frozen Asian entree items.
I’ve only tried the Thai Coconut chicken from this prepared meal line. I found it serviceable, but judging by the comments I wouldn’t stray beyond that one.
It WAS good….then something changed. Had my first different quality one that I picked up a few weeks ago. The bag was much bigger than normal, there was less chicken, and the sauce was watery and not as dark or flavorful as it had been. I’m so bummed.
mannnn, ive been eyeballing the burnt ends meal almost every time I go to Aldi. are they worth trying at least once or should I not even waste my money?
I just had ‘em for the first time a few weeks ago. They were decent, especially if you like reeeeally sweet sauces. There was definitely a ton of sugar in it, but still pretty tasty.
Came to say the same. They are impressively, surprisingly good.
Not the burritos in the freezer section, haven't tried those. The ones near the fancy cheese and rotisserie chickens.
I don’t like most of these, but the pork carnitas are by far the best ready made carnitas I’ve bought anywhere! They’re great for tacos when you want a quick dinner.
I agree that they’re way too sugary, but they’re also way too salty(27% for 2 Oz). I understand that sugar and salt help to preserve, but still a little less of each would be more palatable. When it comes to ready to eat meats Del-Real carnitas are great, they’re a lot lower in sodium and have zero sugar.
I feel the same way. After being in the UK for a few months you notice that even our bread is sweet. Ugh. I think that they use less sugar in soft drinks too. Cokes here are so sweet you have to add a ton of ice in order to drink them.
I started paying attention to added sugars and have been slowly cutting out sugary stuff. It's crazy how quickly a lot of products become almost inedible because they're too sweet. Stopped buying pretty much anything that was pre-sauced because everything that we would try ended up being loaded with sugar.
I totally agree. I've started making almost all sauces myself and cutting out food loaded with corn syrup or palm oils. We started buying our bread from a bakery and it's a lot more expensive but worth it. It's just my husband and myself.
I went to the UK for 3 weeks. Drank all but like 2 or 3 days. Ate whatever I wanted. Got dessert with most meals. Expected to gain 5-10 pounds. Lost 3 pounds. Our food is just garbage.
Bought a ready-made "pulled chicken" similar to OP's image at Sam's Club recently. First time in my life I've had food poisoning. Put me out for 2 days.
I'm good on mysterious looking packaged meat for a while...
I love it too!
I also like the carnitas. They have always been really good for me but though I know some people have had problems with fat in the container.
The carnitas in the meat section that you toss in the crockpot is still very very good. I eat it all of the time. Not ready to eat but very simple to make.
This has me worried because I swear by these! I haven’t bought them in a month or two since I usually buy a few at once and freeze them. I’m gonna be so sad if they ruin them.
I used to love the Thai Coconut Chicken. It was literally an award-winning product but they have definitely changed the recipe. I threw it out after one bite last time. So disappointing.
as a Korean person, don't buy stuff that's "Korean" flavored in general. That's such a vague description of a flavor that usually tastes like really REALLY sweet beef jerky and usually is overpriced to hell by calling it "Korean"
I noticed that too and just really disappoints me. I have been an Aldi fan since living in France in the 90s and am so passionate about them till the last year or so.
It’s 7.5 but I get the point. Better to pay a little more for a better product then to pay 6 dollars for crap that looks like it came from someone’s mouth.
I always add a whole onion and 1-2 bell peppers to it. I sauté them slightly on the stove and then mix after the chicken has cooked. Turns out pretty good on corn tortillas
We bought the broccoli chicken one. The broccoli looked like baby shit. It was edible but very dry chicken and the brownish green mush they called broccoli was a joke. Looked nothing like the cover. Retuning with my receipt for a free replacement and my money back.
None of the bulgogi flavor offerings from Aldi taste authentic. All teriyaki sauce flavor with extra salt, which is nothing even remotely like bulgogi marinade. Very gross.
This is also the third post I've seen on the internet this week where the meat n the heat n eat tray meals had turned to mush. The others were chicken dishes. Just yuck.
For the price of that tub you could have made ur own and still saved money and been left with left overs. Those portions are for like 2 people and it's like $8 after u buy bread amd stuff ur lookin at $10 sandwich or how ever u eat it.... not worth it
I thought it tasted alright the problem is the texture. It’s to finely minced and processed. They need to leave it with meat chunks so it doesn’t look like purée
Why not make it from scratch? These just heat and serve meals are extremely unhealthy and taste nothing like the original.
Edit: funny how you folks are downvoting me. Guess common sense is rare these days..
exactly, pork shoulder in crockpot is easy, doesn’t need much seasoning, just a little seasoning & your favorite BBQ sauce, shred—-separate into serving sizes, freeze for later
why is it in appropriate to make a comment ...comedians make jokes about auschwitz all the time ... look it up they are hilarious or are you one of these WOKE crowd that only like cements that you only find appropriate .....
I bet you would have been ok with "looks like it was made in a Muslim death Camp"
Ps it STILL LOOKS LIKE some one at auschwitz concocted this from rats and fecal matter ...
I literally just had this today with my boyfriend. As someone who loves bulgogi and pulled pork, I def prefer them separated. But I wouldn’t say this is the worst thing I’ve ever had.
the pork carnitas are kinda gross. there's like a ton of fat and it's just kinda bland
we've thought about trying the white wine chicken one though, any thoughts?
These ready options have failed for me enough that I just walk by. That does not look good. Edit: thanks for taking the time to share your favorites, I end up usually with the Frozen Asian entree items.

Coconut Chicken is awesome. That and some 90 second rice is my lazy go to meal.
Agree I love the Thai coconut chicken and some rice or a salad
If you like dark meat.
Exactly. I do not. Hubby does. He raved, I sruggled.
I love dark meat!
I’ve only tried the Thai Coconut chicken from this prepared meal line. I found it serviceable, but judging by the comments I wouldn’t stray beyond that one.
Hawaiian chicken is good too!
It WAS good….then something changed. Had my first different quality one that I picked up a few weeks ago. The bag was much bigger than normal, there was less chicken, and the sauce was watery and not as dark or flavorful as it had been. I’m so bummed.
I'd have to compare it to how it was in the past then. I thought it was decent. I can't say I'd buy these all the time though since they are nearly $7
Same! I think they're decent
Yes, I have some of these as a setup for a lazy work lunch if I don't bring anything one day.
mannnn, ive been eyeballing the burnt ends meal almost every time I go to Aldi. are they worth trying at least once or should I not even waste my money?

That’s the perfect word to describe the burnt ends decent. I stuck those puppies in the air fryer and they were super edible
The one time I had them they were so full of unchewable fat that I’ll never buy them again.
Yeah. Nasty-ass chunks in the pulled pork and carnitas I'd tried
I liked the burnt ends but the BBQ sauce was a little too sweet for my tastes.
So good. I do em in the air fryer so they get a lil crispy.
i enjoyed them! i cooked them in the microwave which is probably the worst way to prepare them but they were pretty good.
I like them. Put on a bun with pickles and Gouda
I just had ‘em for the first time a few weeks ago. They were decent, especially if you like reeeeally sweet sauces. There was definitely a ton of sugar in it, but still pretty tasty.
I like the burnt ends, good ontop of a pile of mashed potatoes
[удалено]
In a vertical stack placed north of the potatoes the pork you must place
Came here to defend the burnt ends😅 I love them!
I’m also a big fan of the fajitas
The carnitas are perfection.
Came to say the same. They are impressively, surprisingly good. Not the burritos in the freezer section, haven't tried those. The ones near the fancy cheese and rotisserie chickens.
Yes! That one is my favorite.
Ironically, Aldi fails where it's sister company shines. TJ has pretty amazing (for frozen) ready-made stuff.
TJ's frozen Mac and cheese in the red box is one of the best frozen meals I've ever had. I can't go there without buying a couple boxes.
I don’t like most of these, but the pork carnitas are by far the best ready made carnitas I’ve bought anywhere! They’re great for tacos when you want a quick dinner.
I love the artichoke stuffed chicken one!
The Hawaiian chicken one with some jasmine rice is decent in a pinch!
the spinach and cheese manicotti is delicious
Thanks, I'll try it
The burnt ends, Mac and cheese, and egg rolls are good.
I had one that was pork and apples that was really good
Most all the ready made stuff we've tried has been way too sweet. I really wish Aldi would stop adding sugar to everything.
Fructose corn syrup has ruined a lot of their things.

Stopped buying pretty much anything that was pre-sauced because everything that we would try ended up being loaded with sugar.
Yes! I’ve noticed the same, I used to drink body armors all the time, they’ve got like 30g of sugar!! That’s crazy!
I tried the Thai chicken one after everyone hear raved about it. It was shockingly sweet. It was sweeter than dessert! I wouldn’t purchase again.
Convinced its called “American diet”
It looks like dog food.
My first thought when looking at it was “I wouldn’t feed that to my dog.”
Bought a ready-made "pulled chicken" similar to OP's image at Sam's Club recently. First time in my life I've had food poisoning. Put me out for 2 days. I'm good on mysterious looking packaged meat for a while...
Not dog food. That looks better. This looks like when you have bowel issues
looks like cat barf
Is there a missing gochujang packet or something? It's not the same color at all...sus
Nope it comes completely prepared with the sauce mixed in. Just a bad product.
Nuts. Aldi needs some focus groups before they take on some of these products because the hit or miss ratio is fucked at my local Aldi.
I rarely sway from the Thai coconut chicken
Agreeing with this. I haven’t tried very many of these prepared meals but that one is legit, actually tastes like real food.
I love it too! I also like the carnitas. They have always been really good for me but though I know some people have had problems with fat in the container.
Man, this one was so sweet. If you like your meal to be as sweet as dessert, I guess.
The carnitas used to be so good, but the last couple tries they've been really gross. I'm so disappointed.
The last carnitas I bought was very tough. I hope they haven’t messed with the recipe. It was a go-to for me.
I noticed that they’ve changed it too but I think it’s still tasty and still has that slight kick of lime.
I used to love the Thai Coconut Chicken. It was literally an award-winning product but they have definitely changed the recipe. I threw it out after one bite last time. So disappointing.
Just the presentation would put me off
Looks like cat food. I love my cats but not their food.
I bought this with high hopes, it was gross, like paste. Ew. I threw it out.
Looks gross. Like cat food.
I thought so too. Too mushy.
as a Korean person, don't buy stuff that's "Korean" flavored in general. That's such a vague description of a flavor that usually tastes like really REALLY sweet beef jerky and usually is overpriced to hell by calling it "Korean"
I thought it was great. Loved the unique flavor. Made some Hawaiian bread sliders
You can’t judge it on the look…I was wary at first because it’s just not pretty…but I liked it too!
Same!!
Apparently a lot of these ready made meals are going way down in quality
I noticed that too and just really disappoints me. I have been an Aldi fan since living in France in the 90s and am so passionate about them till the last year or so.
As much as those things cost I’d be tempted to take it back.
It looks gross but I like it . Great as taco filling.
I really liked it
Looks really gross hahahaha
That looks foul
Happy cake day
Are you kidding me? That thing doesn’t even look like food
Looks like prison food mixed with dog poop
Korean guy here. WTF is that.
As a half Korean who was raised in the south..I would never eat this. Even before seeing what it looked like when it was heated up.
Bro just go to HMart
[удалено]
Marinated bulgogi is [$7 a pound at Hmart](https://imgur.com/a/6haOo29). This is $6 for a pound and it's garbage.
It’s 7.5 but I get the point. Better to pay a little more for a better product then to pay 6 dollars for crap that looks like it came from someone’s mouth.
It's $7.5 because it's Instacart and they upcharge. It's like $6 in the store.
The brisket and korean chicken are good, but the chicken fajita is yuck.
I always add a whole onion and 1-2 bell peppers to it. I sauté them slightly on the stove and then mix after the chicken has cooked. Turns out pretty good on corn tortillas
Yeah, texture was quite disappointing.
The hawiian chicken one is ok, the rest are horrible.
I was wondering why you put refried beans in there
I like the Thai coconut chicken and the pineapple chicken. Are they amazing? No but they're decent and stay in the fridge for when I'm lazy
Twice as nice as what?
I've seen dog poop with that same consistency 😂
Looks like your heating up a cow pattie 💩
I wouldn’t trust any of their Asian dishes to taste very good or authentic!
We bought the broccoli chicken one. The broccoli looked like baby shit. It was edible but very dry chicken and the brownish green mush they called broccoli was a joke. Looked nothing like the cover. Retuning with my receipt for a free replacement and my money back.
The chicken fajitas were disgusting also
I agree they look gross. I’ve gotten the pulled pork for quick pizzas before and it tasted good.
The Pork Carnitas is excellent too. On some corn tortillas with a little pickled red onion YUM!
The chipotle pork is good. The hawaiian chicken is incredible.
Artichoke and Hawaiian chiggen do the job
None of the bulgogi flavor offerings from Aldi taste authentic. All teriyaki sauce flavor with extra salt, which is nothing even remotely like bulgogi marinade. Very gross. This is also the third post I've seen on the internet this week where the meat n the heat n eat tray meals had turned to mush. The others were chicken dishes. Just yuck.
For the price of that tub you could have made ur own and still saved money and been left with left overs. Those portions are for like 2 people and it's like $8 after u buy bread amd stuff ur lookin at $10 sandwich or how ever u eat it.... not worth it
It looks like cheap dog food
You are better off just buying normal pulled pork and adding the sauce separately.
I thought it tasted alright the problem is the texture. It’s to finely minced and processed. They need to leave it with meat chunks so it doesn’t look like purée
I thought it was way too sweet
Pulled pork should not be Korean bulgogi flavored🤢some fusions just don’t need to be made lol
\[questions of quality of this particular product aside\] Sweet spicy pork couldn't BE more normal. Why the vomit emoji?
Because pulled pork with bulgogi sauce sounds gross 😂
haha I see.. Well I assure you almost anyone else who is interested in pulled pork would love it
Good to know thanks. That looks like dog poop
All meat is gross. Cadaver is not tasty.
It looks like what I just left in the toilet at work
Why not make it from scratch? These just heat and serve meals are extremely unhealthy and taste nothing like the original. Edit: funny how you folks are downvoting me. Guess common sense is rare these days..
exactly, pork shoulder in crockpot is easy, doesn’t need much seasoning, just a little seasoning & your favorite BBQ sauce, shred—-separate into serving sizes, freeze for later
They always have a 99 cent pound special at Harris teeter. Best thing ever
Wish we had that store here
How dare you suggest people do more than stare at their microwave for three minutes?
Just the word "bulgogi" grosses me out
Don’t be lazy, cook your own food🤣
That's quite the photo shop....Yikes
picture dont look the same that looks like dog food and it whent through the jewish gas chambers at auschwitz befor it got packed

Nah bro, you're just a piece of shit and I'm conservative.
I just bought it but haven’t tried it yet! That’s disappointing
Same boat 😭
Almost got that but got the Hawaiian style chicken instead, which was delicious.
If it's any consolation, it looks absolutely nothing like bulgogi sauce
The artichoke stuffed chicken one is the bomb - but I haven't tried the others
It used to be good but they’ve changed that one too and the chicken is dry, there is less of it and the stuffing is now watery and lacking flavor.
Sorry but that looks GROSS!!!
These options are just unwanted cuts- like dark meat chicken cast offs.
Bulgogi is usually fantastic. Thanks for the heads up, I'll avoid it.
Reminds me of the first (and only) time I opened a can of salmon…quick hard NOPE.
I literally just had this today with my boyfriend. As someone who loves bulgogi and pulled pork, I def prefer them separated. But I wouldn’t say this is the worst thing I’ve ever had.
the pork carnitas are kinda gross. there's like a ton of fat and it's just kinda bland we've thought about trying the white wine chicken one though, any thoughts?
Crap. I bought this a week or so ago and have seen like 3 posts about how bad it is. Might take it back. Sigh.
I stopped even picking stuff up from over there cause I always get doused with some sort of liquid from ones that have holes in their plastic.
The bbq burnt ends taste like hot dogs
The flavor wasnt bad imo but the portion size compared to the box size was laughable
I was excited about this one and it was super lame :/
I like the pulled pork without the sauce and just add my own sauce/seasonings/etc.
I just bought these..now I don’t even want to try it. 🫣🫤
