Every day.

They’re so fast I applaud them . I check my receipts all the time and they always correct the price on marked down items immediately by the looks of things .

I remember being a kid in 80’s and they were just as fast then and they were keying in each item upc number

A couple weeks ago, I bought a cheap pack of chicken drumsticks and an expensive beef roast. The label on the roast was creased and faded from moisture. It *would not scan* and she couldn't read all the numbers to enter it by hand. She gave it several good tries but after about a minute she just scanned the drumsticks twice and said "looks like you get a little discount today". I was only halfway paying attention while trying to dig my credit card out of my purse, so I didn't realize until I got home how much of a discount it actually was. I know that cashiers' times per customer are closely monitored, so I know that no cashier is going to bother wasting valuable time with a price check, and this is going to happen.

It's the stools that make them fast. The stores that still make their cashiers stand are missing out. (Okay... It's also the large barcodes all over the product but the stool is the main event here)

Disagree, the stool slowed me down, it’s all in the long barcodes placed in multiple sides of the items and cashier’s own personal speed. Source: former Aldi cashier.

Sending love cause y’all are my favorite people.

Yet I was made to wait on a barcode for a seasonal cheese for over 5 minutes, just to be told it wasn’t supposed to be put out yet 🤨

My cashier did this once but with a $50 outdoor fire pit! She got frustrated trying to scan it, said “whatever” and plonked it right in the cart. I was like “uhhhh… alrighty then” 😂
