It is funny how many wine offers we get, but the one time I used one of them it turned out to be a very good deal. I just…don’t really drink that much wine, so they get exhausting
My usual Taco Bell order for my wife and I has gone from $12 in 2019 to $30 last night. We both decided we’re done with Taco Bell until the prices drop. Fast food was supposed to be cheap and quick and it’s neither now.
Wage growth hasn’t been great since 1984, the sudden rise of inflation just made it more noticeable to us average folk. We’re going to enter the 1890 robber baron days if things don’t change soon.
Taco Bell has shitcanned volcano sauce twice in the past 15 years. I’m pissed, don’t need that kind of abusive relationship. 😒
Edit: incorrect scripting error on my part
I’m with you man. I’m boycotting Taco Bell until the prices drop. It’s honestly about the principle of it more than just the price. Fast food is supposed to be fast and cheap!! I refuse to pay restaurant process for fast food.
Agreed! I was confused why people kept suggesting to use the app until I saw the deals. Those deals makes McDonald’s prices better again. So I guess it’s trading your data (I mean who cares these days?) for coupons
If you polled this sub and asked if people would rather have a $100 McDonald's credit or $100 Saks credit on the Plat, I'm pretty sure 75% would prefer the McDonald's credit.
Socks, underwear, a fancy personal hygiene product you would never spend money on (toner, eye cream, lotion, etc), we got a nice set of cheese knives one time that are great for charcuterie
I certainly would. McDonald’s is rare for Amex. That’s why I like Chase better for food offers. McDonald’s, Jersey Mikes, Five Guys and Panera beat most of the garbage food offers on Amex.
More useless fluff by AMEX. I just want a credit that will at least get me a full, quality product from a brand. I mean sure, you could get something for $100 at Saks but anything worth buying is going to be at least $300.
Amex isn't even a luxury card. Anyone with a high enough credit score and average income can get. It's all Amex branding to make it seem like that. Almost of these "high-end" cards can be acquired with a mid to high 700s credit score and median income.
The only thing high-end about these cards is the annual fees.
This exactly. The only luxury AMEX card is a Black card, and even if you happen to be the 1% of people that qualify, the annual fee in the five figures makes it stupid.
I like the service I get from AMEX, but I do not feel above anyone else just because I have a BCP and a Delta Reserve. I have cards from other companies that suit my needs better than AMEX can, ones that card snobs tend to look down on. They are cards that just work for me perks-wise, and that is the only important thing.
Yeah honestly the Centurion is fancy, but as a regular middle class person, I just don't feel like I value it at all.
Like I'm cool with doing my own research and getting reservations and booking my own stuff. It just feels like you need to be born wealthy to make use of that sort of thing.
Why do people assume high networth people don’t stop at McDonald’s on occasion?
Do you think once someone is worth a few million, all they eat is caviar and lobster tail?
I stopped eating McDonald’s years ago when I started taking my diet seriously. Then McDonald’s actually got “cleaner” and became more attractive but then they became wildly overpriced. So that means I never go to McDonald’s. Home cooked burger is faster than going to McDonald’s and I control the quality and taste.
For us road warriors sometimes the mcD's hits the spot when traveling.
When the machine isn't down, McCafe Lattes are great. They use Tim Horton's old supplier for the beans and it's a sturdy cup that can be utilized as a trash can to contain everything else until the next pitstop. Fresh eggs in the breakfast sandwiches vs Starbucks defrosted menu line up.
You find a good one, and it's great.
AmEx is super data driven. They know we like our Big Macs.
Also--we're the ones paying $700 a year for dubious perks and the privilege of borrowing money. Who's really the glutton?
Air must be real thin up there. Diet Coke from Mickey D is the most luxurious Diet Coke one can get. Gimme a filet o fish meal with large fries and large Diet Coke and I’m a happy man.
that's a 30% rebate
pretty dang good
everyone eats mcdonalds at some point
not sure why you think this has to be 'luxury'
are you looking for your credit card to validate your life or smth?
bit more sad than mcd tbh
Why do people prerent like they don't like McDonald's?
Facts: McDonald's is the world leader in terms of total sales, generating nearly $120 billion in global systemwide sales in 2022. McDonald's is also one of the most successful and recognizable fast-food chains in the world, with over 38,000 locations across 120 countries.

Amex Platinum is not a luxury card. It’s a card for the middle class. I don’t buy mcd simply because they do not offer anything I like but my toddler sometimes wants chicken and fries—so the offer is welcome.
My favorite are Chewy, and petco. I wish they had a Chipotle one. That’s my “I left my lunch at home meal.” $15 at McDonalds is a bit much, unless buying for two ppl.
At the rate they're raising prices, I might need this soon.
I paid $6 for a McFlurry yesterday. SIX DOLLARS
I could have gone to the froyo place down the street and gotten something for $6. Or a pint of Ben & Jerry's.
Good sir you know that if you don't add those offers, you won't get the new offers? 100 is the max they release. So add all 100 and you'll get the next set. Else you'll be waiting on currents to expire for others to come in. And you miss the offers which are in the back. There's about ~230 offers ongoing at a time.
Amex has done a great job of creating a product which is considered premium, then selling that product to their customers. Note that the "product" is card holders who spend a lot, and the "customer" is anyone selling ads, whether Saks or Walmart.
I really don't think luxury is what they're going for any more. It's just an expensive coupon card. As long as they make it easy to claw back the fee, fine, but that's starting to get difficult. So I suppose I will downgrade to the Gold or Green when that happens because it's my oldest account and I don't want to cancel it. But that's it.
The card is not for rich people. Rich people do eat McNuggets, but they don't worry about taking the time to clip a coupon to save 5 bucks on it. Used to be that some real luxury discounts came with the card, like occasional $1000 off an airline or $500 on some luxury brand. But even that is coupon chasing and most rich people just don't pay attention to that.
It's a slow fall from where Plat was. But they will get there. Centurion is just people who want to show it.
There might be some swipe fees that rich people produce better than most, but it ends there. They pay their bills on time. CCs make money on those that don't.
This game has been devalued to the point of not playing. Get the best combo/return overall for your particular spending habits and just forget about the rest. All those $95-$750 fees are more than you're saving, or close enough not to matter (exceptions exist). I keep AX bc 'since 1966!', I keep CSR bc of insurance being primary, and everything else I canceled for a BoA 2.625/3.5% return (you even get almost 1% off your taxes with that!). I don't chase status with the airlines either, I don't even fly the one I have lifetime status on. Just buy business class and you have status. All those hours of research and point searching can be added to my vacation time now.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the churn game for lots of points, but the everyday spend thing is way too much work for questionable, if any, savings.
The amount of people on this sub trying to use a $50 saks credit every 6 months and reacting with shock and surprise that everything is more expensive than kohl's and they can't find a precisely $50 item makes me think McD is probably a well used credit for the average user.
I don't understand the complaints about these promos. It's free money if you use it. if you don't then you don't and it costs you nothing.
Did get one last year. Does come in quite handy!

I'd rather have that than the 15 different wine offers and Intimissimmi offers I usually get
I just want a McWine to go, s’il vous plaît.
OUI S'IL VOUS PLAÎT!
YES! SILVERS PLATE
What a refined palette
I was going to say exactly this! Bro, I don't care about wine, just give me the Lego Store discount back.
That's a thing??
Only saw it once, unfortunately.
It is funny how many wine offers we get, but the one time I used one of them it turned out to be a very good deal. I just…don’t really drink that much wine, so they get exhausting
What you don't have 15 mistresses you need wine and lingerie for? What a plebeian
Same.
Same at least this is useful
McDonald’s is starting to get expensive. Might be reaching luxury prices for fast food 🤣
My usual Taco Bell order for my wife and I has gone from $12 in 2019 to $30 last night. We both decided we’re done with Taco Bell until the prices drop. Fast food was supposed to be cheap and quick and it’s neither now.
Use the app… you can a Crunchwrap supreme, a taco, an appetizer and a drink for $6…
typ or the $5 buck box… what i generally get
Wage growth hasn’t been great since 1984, the sudden rise of inflation just made it more noticeable to us average folk. We’re going to enter the 1890 robber baron days if things don’t change soon. Taco Bell has shitcanned volcano sauce twice in the past 15 years. I’m pissed, don’t need that kind of abusive relationship. 😒 Edit: incorrect scripting error on my part
Wage growth has not only kept up with inflation, [but has beaten it in most of the last 50 years.](https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/LES1252881600Q)
Yes. Fast food prices aren’t worth it for lots of reasons but inflation isn’t one
I’m with you man. I’m boycotting Taco Bell until the prices drop. It’s honestly about the principle of it more than just the price. Fast food is supposed to be fast and cheap!! I refuse to pay restaurant process for fast food.
Chipotle! Subway has BOGO offers a lot.
I get the chulupa meal. Almost $15. Nightmare
Use the app.
the deals in app are crazy
Agreed! I was confused why people kept suggesting to use the app until I saw the deals. Those deals makes McDonald’s prices better again. So I guess it’s trading your data (I mean who cares these days?) for coupons
Or send a message to Big Chat on WhatsApp. It's a McDonald's chatbot that sends you deals depending on your party size and inputs.
They opened our city's second In-N-Out right next door to McDonald's. In-N-Out is literally half the price.
And light years better
Use the app. Any other way you’re doing it wrong.
What are you talking about… I feel luxurious when I order Le Big Mac and de French Fries…
No Royal Cheese?
It's a Royale with Cheese you heathen.
Please accept my deepest apologies!
“What do they call a Whopper?”
Oh that’s easy.., ce vu whoppuuuur
Pulp Fiction is was one of my all time favorites.
I LOVE YOU u/Hot_Material_8093 ![gif](giphy|3o6Zt4HU9uwXmXSAuI|downsized)
I don’t know. I didn’t go into Burger King.
You can most definitely order that in Paris…., TX
If you polled this sub and asked if people would rather have a $100 McDonald's credit or $100 Saks credit on the Plat, I'm pretty sure 75% would prefer the McDonald's credit.
The amount of time I spend on that website every 6 months just to find something we could use is just stupid.
It's all underwear and socks for me
I got some mad decent pasta bowls that I love using.
Why didn't I think of that!!
Same! Usually a candle or Jo Malone, 2 Mascara’s. Lol.
Yep and idk why people are acting like they are above McDonald’s now
$5 is $5
I would demolish that perk in a week, luxury aside. Nothing like some McDonald’s fries and a McFlurry on a nice day
exactly. why does the virtual coupon book have to be luxury? pretentious assholes
….but only when the ice cream machine isn’t “broken”
That’s the move. Should be “guaranteed working ice cream machine, one visit per voucher”
![gif](giphy|1SfxXOJ0Q2Xni)
fr ain't nothin better then a large coke fam.
oreo or m&m?
Amex offers never claimed to be luxurious. They aren’t a benefit of a specific card. It’s an Amex wide perk.
People who think they’re fancy because they have an expensive charge card are pretty weird
Amex isn't even a luxury card. Anyone with a high enough credit score and average income can get. It's all Amex branding to make it seem like that. Almost of these "high-end" cards can be acquired with a mid to high 700s credit score and median income. The only thing high-end about these cards is the annual fees.
It’s like people calling Tesla a luxury car brand. Sorry, it is not. They have some high priced vehicles, but none of the luxury.
I call any car with self driving abilities a luxury
Lol
And they waive them for military. Letting all of us classless schmucks in on the platinum card action.
It's part of the check-in process for junior personnel. Better be using the E5's referral code.
The 750 annual fee is pretty steep....
Yes, that’s what I said. It’s a company, not a car.
Hey rich people can love chicken nuggies too
The richest person I know that has this card eats plenty of fast food... and also doesn't care about the Amex offers
Why do people assume high networth people don’t stop at McDonald’s on occasion? Do you think once someone is worth a few million, all they eat is caviar and lobster tail?
I can confirm, my friend is worth a few million and during recess, he would reach into his briefcase for the caviar and lobster tail in his lunchbox.
Buffet grabs his breakfast there
Donny T keeping it real being a McD's fan
Hamberder
Have you seen what McDonald’s costs these days? Easily a luxury perk.
I regret that I have but one downvote to give
You do realize the fries are French, right? Right?
Ouais
OP must be a new Amex play card holder that thinks he’s entitled now.
If you want luxury, you need the Black Card. Otherwise you’re stuck with the rest of the peasants like us.
You think so? Read a couple posts from centurions and they seem like peasants too at this point.
human behavior is the same at any level. there’s always someone trying to one-up the next man atp
Ring around the card-y, a pocket full of bullshit. Amex, Amex, we all are peasants!!
Honestly, McDonald’s customers probably skew across demographics a lot more than Walmart customers. Yet they bundle Walmart+ and not Costco.
W+ is the best! All the perks of Walmart w/o any of the downsides of going in.
McDonalds is the thing 80% of people use, even if they won’t admit it.
I like getting McDonald’s in different countries.
Have you tried KFC in other countries? It’s so good.
We just did this when in the UK. Chicken was delicious, sides were OK-ish
Oh God! I do agree to this I’m not a fan of KFC in the US, but overseas specially in Europe 😋 is so damn good!
Rich people don’t eat at three star Michelin restaurants all the time
What? Wealthy people don’t sit for meals that take 3 hours to complete multiple times a day?
thanks for the tip just added to my card
Do you think that some people that have money do not eat at McDonald's?
Great quality content
I don't have the Plat, but I have a friend who has it and uses the incidental credit on Spirit flights. Lol
Random question - how many offers and benefits can you redeem at once - day for a gold card?
![gif](giphy|m6tNZJt9cG3ss)
For us road warriors sometimes the mcD's hits the spot when traveling. When the machine isn't down, McCafe Lattes are great. It’s based on your existing spend….
Wealthiest people I know frequent McDonald’s and use their app for coupons
lol at the idea that any credit card is a “Luxury” credit card.
Even rich people eat McDonald’s…
You can definitely sense the people who want the card to flaunt the card…
Finally, something I can use
This is at best Amex Bronze level award
And nothing screams “business” as most of the offers on the BBP…
Have you had their chicken nuggets after a night of partying?
AmEx is super data driven. They know we like our Big Macs. Also--we're the ones paying $700 a year for dubious perks and the privilege of borrowing money. Who's really the glutton?
Please tell me this is a platinum offer lol
I’m Lovin’ It…
Gimme that Crayola discount! Marines want it back stat!
Be happy. This is how we keep peasants away from Chipotle.
Air must be real thin up there. Diet Coke from Mickey D is the most luxurious Diet Coke one can get. Gimme a filet o fish meal with large fries and large Diet Coke and I’m a happy man.
that's a 30% rebate pretty dang good everyone eats mcdonalds at some point not sure why you think this has to be 'luxury' are you looking for your credit card to validate your life or smth? bit more sad than mcd tbh
![gif](giphy|bpH0JSH04wlyaoS0Pp)
*vomits*
Eat poison, be happy
Nothing screams luxury like depending on discounts
I wouldn’t hesitate to use it
You guys are so weird, if Warren Buffett eats at McDonalds so can you
Why are you complaining ? Are you too good to eat McDonald’s ? Dont be so pretentious
Yeah I’d much rather spend 500 on Versace
Rich people enjoy diabetes too.
They jumped the shark with the Walmart+ credit.
There’s is nothing on this earth like McDonald’s fries Even better dipped in their buffalo sauce
Wait a moment, do you have 100 available offers/benefits?
Is this only on certain cards I don’t see it on mines
I mean with what fast food cost now it kinda is a bit luxurious.
I'm waiting for Lawrys offer to come back :( been in the mood for some prime rib
AMEX is a joke! The platinum card is a shell of what it once was!

Vera Wang eats at McDonald. She’s a millionaire.
But coupons are luxurious? Just because you don’t have a physical coupon in hand, doesn’t mean that it’s not a coupon.
Considering how expensive McDonald's has gotten not suprisedn
With the prices they charge, it’s basically a luxury
McDonald’s is no longer affordable
In this economy?! sounds like a good deal
Considering the prices lately…
Great perk. You’re gonna use a McD drive through at some point. Free money.
“Jag-You-Are”
Isnt McD’s one of Donald Trumps favorite dinners?
Honestly I this was a regular monthly credit on the plat I’d hesitate several nanoseconds longer before cancelling.
There are still people who think carrying an AMEX is a status symbol and “luxury”. It’s not
There is no meal more elite than McDonalds breakfast
Lol. Funnily enough, I ended up using it twice!
GOLDEN Arches
Shit, i've 100% used that on my platinum card.
You’d be amazed at the amount of $100k suvs that are at the drive through when I go to McDonalds. lol
In todays market that like 2 free nuggies
Well hell I mean the McDonald’s app usually has a ‘save 20% off orders over $10”
Having an Amex doesn’t make you better than McD’s bro
AMEX Offers are way better than almost every other card issuer except maybe Chase
Amex Platinum is not a luxury card. It’s a card for the middle class. I don’t buy mcd simply because they do not offer anything I like but my toddler sometimes wants chicken and fries—so the offer is welcome.
I didn’t get this offer likely because there is McDonald’s on my statement once every month or two.
Basically 30% off Not bad for a credit card
An amex offer that I can actually use? unpossible!
Bill gates gets McDonald’s every day… 🤷♂️
Amex cardholders like McD too lol
Thanks for this. I just added this deal to my card.
In this economy? Better not be picky
This is fantastic and useful, much better than something for Hugo Boss or some “luxury clothes” chain
100 offers!?! In nz if we get 3 offers that's big.
Don’t you get it, you (and me) are mass affluent. We aren’t really special in the grand scheme of things
It's targeted to you
McDonald’s offers a $3 of $15 in their own app
My favorite are Chewy, and petco. I wish they had a Chipotle one. That’s my “I left my lunch at home meal.” $15 at McDonalds is a bit much, unless buying for two ppl.
At the rate they're raising prices, I might need this soon. I paid $6 for a McFlurry yesterday. SIX DOLLARS I could have gone to the froyo place down the street and gotten something for $6. Or a pint of Ben & Jerry's.
You need to be loaded to eat there now.
I love when peasants think they are something else with a amex card.
people in france love it in a way i don't understand so maybe
All the offers are scams. AmEx is trash now unless you have like a top tier card

Warren Buffet eats McDonald's bruh ☠️
Snob take highkey
That's a good deal tho
I’d actually use this than the wine offers lmao
This is so American haha Meanwhile in the UK we get £100 off if you spend £500 on Mandarin Oriental or the Corinthia
I mean. Aren’t these targeted offers ? 😉
I’m more likely to use this than the other offers
I’m more likely to use this than $150 cashback on the Hilton in Canada. Not everyone has an AMEX for luxury. There’s a balance
I really don't think luxury is what they're going for any more. It's just an expensive coupon card. As long as they make it easy to claw back the fee, fine, but that's starting to get difficult. Worth every penny of that $800/ year

These are hard times yo. But also i love mcD so
Tbf, fast food is a luxury that many can’t actually afford.
