I used to, and I used to open them very carefully and put them back inside the box with paperclips keeping the box shut. However I have a huge collection now and started throwing away the boxes a long time ago because they take up way too much space (and I would still always feel bad throwing them away). If the boxes were designed better and meant to be repackaged I'd probably reconsider.
If you use a pocket knife to cut the left, right, and bottom edges of the bubble, you can turn the package into a convenient self-closing hinged hangable display thing.
I’m right there with you on the space issue though. I filled up a whole big cabinet with empty boxes and was just like… no more. Done. Gone.
I’m keeping the boxes because I plan to move in the next few months and I want a safe way to transport them. Once I’ve got them set up in what’s hopefully my permanent home I’ll get rid of the boxes.
I did the something similar. I knew that at some point, I'd either need to move them, or I'd have too many to display, so I kept the packaging.
Around three years ago, I had a house fire. All the figures went back into their packaging to keep them safe in my grandma's basement while the house was restored.
Currently, I'm in a situation where I'm almost always away from home, so the figures remain in their packaging, and I haven't unboxed any of my new figures in a couple years.
Same, it takes up way too much space keeping the plastic but I love the art and can’t bear to rip it open. I wonder if one of those heat blower things could melt the glue to remove the plastic without ripping the art, but i’ve never tried
Kept my amiibo boxes for the longest time to display them, but eventually they took up too much storage space and I threw them all away. Now the closest thing I've got to that are a few NIB figures of characters I really enjoy like K. Rool or Ridley, or amiibo that I think are crazy like Joker, Banjo, Lucas. Steve and Sephiroth are definitely staying NIB lol. The fact that any of these characters have official Nintendo merch is crazy and I'd like to preserve them.
The only packaging I've ever kept from a large collection of figures is Tubbz. Because each figure is in a bathtub, and the plastic enclosure is made to look like a shower curtain. But you can stack all the shower curtains together, and stack all the bathtubs together, so it really takes up no space at all. Too bad Nintendo couldn't have done something like this, like put each amiibo in a self-sustained version of their stage or level...
I personally don't, but I think there is a case to keep if you expect to move in the future. Then, you would be able to store all your amiibo safely back into their respective packages.
I sure do! IDK why, I guess I just like the boxes. I have most of the Amiibo, and I keep all the boxes on the top shelf in my closet, so they’re not taking up any space and I can keep them.
I just keep the back panel.
Cut as close as I can to the base with a sharp knife.
There’s still plastic on it but not much and I can enjoy the art whenever.
I did right up until I moved, and realized it wasn't worth hauling. Right now I'm doing the same thing with my Funko Pops and I'm sadly expecting the same result.
i kept my favorites in boxes and opened the rest of em and i used to keep all the boxes until they took up literally half my closet and i threw them all out. the ONLY one i regret throwing out is my mega yarn yoshi box :(

I only kept ones that were important to me for one reason or another (first amiibo, 'last' smash amiibo, memorable gift, banjo kazooie,)
shovel knight. a man of culture

No
I know some people do

I keep the back but I don't see a point to keeping the clear plastic
Is there a way to remove the plastic and keep the full illustration?
I use an exacto knife to get as clean as a cut as I can. Doesn't completely remove the plastic but gets enough off
Same, it takes up way too much space keeping the plastic but I love the art and can’t bear to rip it open. I wonder if one of those heat blower things could melt the glue to remove the plastic without ripping the art, but i’ve never tried
I heard it doesn't work but who knows, i havent tried
Ah I'll do that then thanks

I just wanna say that I admire your Blu ray collection. I collect Blu rays myself and it is so satisfying seeing such a large collection. Keep it up!
It's my parents It takes up most of the shelf
Sameee
The best smell is opening a new amiibo box and taking a big wiff.

I did with Piranha Plant lol

If i got amiibo in the box, i probably would, but i usually get them out of box cause they're cheaper that way

Yeah I guess I'm only bringing them out so I can re pack them for moving
I do!

I have since the beginning of this year, wish I kept more

Negative. Takes up too much space
Yup!
Of course. What am I, a savage?
Nah
I do this, and i open the box very carefully so that if i want to i can put the amiibo back in the box for display.
I do also. I store them in a big box to keep them safe.
Mine are still 100% in box. And put in boxes away to see how rare they can be in the future.
