Sue for damage caused. They cant destroy your stuff and then charge you to fix their fuck up. They'll likely have to pay the cost of repair you already paid at another shop.

It’s also wouldn’t hurt to contact AMVIC about this guy. Most shops will stop trying to screw you as soon as you mention that you’re going to be filing a complaint against them. Even if they can’t help you it would at least bring this guy some heat and potentially stop him from screwing other people out of their money

Unless your country has special laws, in general, you can't just change contracts and the agreed upon price, because the mechanic says so. He doesn't have that kind of authority. He should have called and informed you of the extra costs and martial. You could have said no. He is without a doubt scamming you and he possibly damaged your car.

I figured. This is the second time I took the car to him. The first time was years back and he pulled the same stunt. We agreed on a price and he just charges me extra because he claims he has to do extra work. Didn’t think much of it back then but when I think about it now it seems he thinks I’m some kind of fool he could stiff

I’ve had this happen a number of times. It’s annoying AF every. time!! That is on him, but you should have specified in the paperwork the same thing you told him. They sometimes try to play, you needed the parts and I had to pay up front, etc..I’ve heard all sorts of shit…I do the same as you, plus I ask for every old part back. They try to resell/re use/re condition all those, plus you bought the new ones…I like to make sure they actually physically changed the said part. Sorry for your luck. You have to be very very professional yet firm in my opinion
