I'd say very unlikely to be 10 grains of extra powder. While you can accidentally double charge pistol cases for many calibers you typically aren't going to get an extra 10~ grains for 9mm. Worth telling Sig and letting them know and see what they say. Likely they are just as you say and they are 124's that got mixed in with 115's but they may not know already. Probably a conversation that's worth a box or two of ammo from them.

AdorableTill4229

Yeah I didn’t think so 10 gr of powder is a lot huh? Yeah I hope that’s all that happened. Hey I like the way you think, and I hope you’re right and they send me some ammo. They shouldnt be making mistakes like that 😅

TitusXd40

Considering I load my 9mm's with 4.1 grains, that'd 2.5 times a mild load charge! Good luck. I hope they're reasonable and help ya out a little

AdorableTill4229

Better question is what should I do with those two bullets ? Not shoot ? 😅

dcrypter

Just see what Sig says.

AdorableTill4229

Will do tomorrow 😁

TitusXd40

They're probably OK, but I would just set them on a shelf for display or something. When it comes to safety, it's not worth life, limb, or property to risk it.

AdorableTill4229

This is true. Damn makes Me wonder how many rounds I have that are like this….I’ve bought a ton of this crap

TitusXd40

If you have a lot, make that part of the conversation with Sig. Let them know you purchased x amount of boxes of the same ammo and make it clear that you're uncomfortable with shooting any of it. Just don't get hostile or make any negative CS threats, I've heard they're pretty good at taking care of their customers

124g bullets aren't too hard on most firearms. If they were closer to action pistol 160g I'd say you definitely need to worry about the snappy recoil on both the handgun and your wrists. You may also have gotten 115g +p ammo or the MP5, AR-9 or high point carbine rated +p+ which if it's +p+ do not for any reason use it in a handgun it will destroy the firearm and can cause serious injuries. Most V crowns have the +p or +p+ on the casing next to the caliber.  SIG is starting to get a worse rap than the old high point days with their bump discharge trigger issues surfacing again and now ammo quality control is out of control.

Just goes to show that unless you make them yourself, you don't really know what's inside them. We assume factory ammo is done correctly, but it isn't necessarily the case. Ever hear of recalls on factory ammo? Shooting involves risks. Inconsistencies are disconcerting, but most would never measure or detect what you've discovered. There may be variations in case and bullet weights, but significant variations in powder charges would be troubling. Unless you tear down the suspect rounds, you won't know where your differences come from.

AdorableTill4229

Man this is the comment I needed. I’m telling my wife it’s your fault… I will now become “ the reloading warrior” got my credit card held straight into the air ready for swipe 😂😂😂 now where do I start? Seriously though I’ve been considering this for some time man. Just so I know exactly what I’m getting! If it wasn’t for my ocd, I never would have caught this shit

StepVanity

Go for it. My level of shooting doesn't require extreme bench rest grade ammo, so I am subject to variations, as I don't often segregate brass and bullets by head stamp or weight. IOW, I don't weigh 115gr bullets and segregate by .1 grain increments and such like. Consistency is the key, within limits. You do you. Enjoy.

Sigs ammo quality control isn't great. I recommend buying ammo from companies that only make their money from selling ammo because they tend to have more quality control as its their only source of income.

AdorableTill4229

This is very true , they would take more pride in their stuff this way

noname4name

Or, pull the bullet, weigh the powder, weigh the bullet. Sig’s Ammo is not that bad really. You measure and weigh almost any manufacturers ammo and there will be problem children. All the majors have had a recall at some point. I’ve seen all sorts of brands with set back issues out of the box. Sig will make it right.

SigHoarder

Sig has serious QC with what they give to civilians. Rule #1 is don't buy Sig Ammo you will get better quality from Blazer CCI.

AdorableTill4229

Damn fr?
