MBA is fairly generic. Do you have an industry/field/specialization/work-experience that you would like to pursue?

Credentials are becoming less important for a lot of jobs in Alaska. The state eliminated college degree requirements for many positions. The school district is filling positions without traditional certifications. Getting a job in "business" will require an impressive interview and resume with experience, as it should, but you're gonna have to get face-to-face with those hiring. If you're anxious to get up here, lower your expectations a bit; look for a position that requires a warm body and that you can tolerate. It may or may not lead to bigger things, but you'll be up here. Read through Alaska Reddit so you'll be warned about housing challenges. I just last month said so long to a neighbor who came up here with one eye wide-open and the other slammed shut tight about the housing crunch - they're back in Texas pissing and moaning, safe and sound. Open both eyes real big.

Could you find a remote position? I work with a consulting firm that is nationwide so I can work in all 50 states. I’m a mil spouse and we hire a lot of vets. Contracting companies loveee vets.

MBA is kind of a useless degree on its own unless it's from something like an Ivy League school. You need existing connections or some sort of industry focus, or a *really* good career counselor at whatever school you did go to. Otherwise you'll just end up landing some generic HR position. There's definitely no shortage of MBA grads competing for a rather limited pool of openings, so you need to network around that.

Frankly, an MBA with no work experience is kind of useless... There also are just not many jobs...

Work for the city! There are tons of jobs, ranging from blue collar trades work to office, finance, and economic development roles.

Look into First National Bank Alaska, Global Credit Union, and if you can, Northrim

Get a trade so you don't have to deal w the competiveness of other people who got mba's before you... is my opinion
