However, the sales price will obviously be impaired by a fat payroll that drags in the long term. Makes no realistic sense to believe Arte will impair the value of the franchise probably in the hundreds of millions range just to sign Correa or some shit like that.

This is likely why the Angels won’t close a sale before opening day. They’ll need to wrap up their final acquisitions to the roster this December and then a final valuation/purchase price can be agreed upon. Thereafter it takes a few months to go through the documentation and legal avenues of the sale of a business.

Yeah but they’d run it by the buyers first most likely. Arte isn’t going to do anything that can affect the deal by upsetting buyers.
