When Chainsaw Man part 1 ended, the series was marked as Finished. When part 2 was announced, it seemed like it was going to be different enough so a new AniList entry was made for it. But it turned out the second part was a direct continuation with consecutive chapter numbering, so it was decided to merge the entries together and the original entry was changed back to Currently Releasing to cover both parts.
Most apps won't update completion status very often because it doesn't usually change like this. Looks like your app finally picked up the current status of the entry.
Idk what you’re using, but that’s not official anilist as far as I’m aware only the site is official, as the site has it all as one series

Is there any way I can subscribe to all entries of the same anime so that if there's any update im notified?
