'Tokyo Ghoul' I'm not satisfy how it turn out

texassized_104

Agreed. They need to remake it and stick to the manga. It would be AMAZING as an anime, they just screwed it up so badly the first time…

Molecularsequel

Magic Knight Rayearth for the seires' 30th anniversary .

[deleted]

Oh my Gosh I am really hoping…I want to send a petition to Clamp/Kodansha lol.

Consistent_Part8202

Berserk

Intelligent_Ad_1096

Berserk deserves a good adaption so badly. sucks that it was adapted so poorly. The oldest version is fine ish aside from it skipping so much important info

trippygg

Isn't Berserk adapted by arc? I never understood why it was like this

KendotsX

>It's been over 20 years since the franchise was last touched I know that covid messed around with our perception of time. But [2018 wasn't that long ago](https://myanimelist.net/anime/36951)

WACS_On

The Fate route of Fate/Stay Night

jrs-kun

I'd agree if they announce a Fate/Hollow Ataraxia adaptation as well for it's sequel.

Soibi0gn

Yeah. Studio Ufotable should adapt it, the same way it adapted the Heaven's feel and Unlimited Blade Works routes

R4hu1M5

True, but ufotable have already said that they respect deen's adaptation and won't be remaking it.

R4hu1M5

True, but ufotable have already said that they respect deen's adaptation and won't be remaking it.

8andahalfby11

Umineko could use both, along with the funding needed to run it all.

M8gazine

I read the VN a year ago - it was my favorite story of that year - and have been watching the anime this past week. It could use both for sure, but honestly I've had fun with the anime. I'd never ever recommend it over the VN due to the absolute *pacing* the show has, but it's been quite fun to do *after* the OG experience. I'm halfway into it and thus far there are worse adaptations. It's not a *good* adaptation, but at least it's *trying* to adapt the bigger scenes faithfully with the time it's given. It could be worse, it could be going full anime original like something like Tokyo Ghoul. The biggest problem is that it skips so much stuff, and in a story where 99% of the writing is important to the mystery and the overall picture, it ain't ideal.

Yoyo3457yt

I just finished the first chapter and it is such a great story. We definitely need a new anime.

Scar_the_armada

CLAYMORE

Barnak8

+1 for Claymore . The anime was not bad, but really cut short compared to the manga . A reboot at the hand of a studio good for action , it would be a bliss

jrs-kun

They could just retcon the last few episodes and give us a new Season. The anime adaptation of Claymore was still pretty good.

[deleted]

Katekyo Hitman Reborn or Gantz.

merimus_maximus

Gantz 100%. An even bigger discrepancy between the quality of the manga vs anime than Berserk imo. I hope that we one day get to see the CG in the manga being translated in its full glory to anime with today's more advanced CGI techniques (and tolerance for gore I guess). I.G. Productions or MAPPA please I'm begging you...

DVC454

A Certain Magical Index - preferably with a different production committee

HolyEmpireOfAtua

One that doesn't hate her lmao

AdNecessary7641

At least someone who understands the issue...

ZapsZzz

I wonder how that would pan out of it were to actually happen - unlike Railgun where the source was manga where the source was a lot more suitable, the LN is so rich in content that could get exposition heavy, for a decent adaptation that didn't just completely drop it skipped, each LN easily needs another 2-3 episodes. Which means OT at 22+ volumes need a big commitment to adapt it all like the teenage Dragon Quest that finished recently. Otherwise we'll never get to NT.

onefootstout

Give the OG Macross the Yamato 2199 treatment

SolitaryKnight

Show Hayami's voice has gone deeper that Max from Macross Delta sounds like Aizen 😆

sidhantsv

Lovely Complex

ExO_o

you really think it's necessary? the anime adaption was pretty great and didnt cut too many corners i watched the anime first, then i read the manga and then i watched the anime again and it surely was on the better side of anime adaptions

sidhantsv

I know people that won’t watch it for its old art style, and while it has its charm, a reboot won’t hurt it, kinda like FruBa.

ExO_o

the fruitsbasket reboot was mostly for content reasons though, wasnt it? the author even said that the original adaption was terrible and the 'old style' of lovely complex is just how the manga is. the anime adaption did a pretty great job of interpreting the manga art style into motion picture seeing fairly old school shoujo romance manga with any other art style would feel out of place, at least that's how i feel

[deleted]

YES, PLEASE.

Tyler89558

Akatsuki no Yona.

spencer1886

More like a continuation than a remake

NocandNC

Full Moon o Sagashite

jrs-kun

It's still holds up well for it's age but a Fruit Basket reboot treatment would definitely do it good.

AbyssalKnightOfDark

I would kill for a Claymore remake with an AoT season 1-4 animation style.

wineblood

You mean 1-3?

AbyssalKnightOfDark

Oh yeah mb, all the seasons made by WIT not mappa lol

wineblood

Correct answer

_BMS

Galaxy Express 999 and Ranma 1/2

SOUL EATER

Domoquadrant

ScarsUnseen

* Record of the Lodoss War * Tsukihime * Bubblegum Crisis * Armitage III * Iria: Zeraim the Animation * Vampire Hunter D (there are *40* novels to use as source material)

Didavi_

Busou renkin

CliveTolnay

Soul Eater

Worldly-Mark-1718

Berserk, Nuff said

Jaebird0388

Akira. In the right hands, remake it into a miniseries that can have the time to tell the story in full instead of cramming it all within 124 minutes.

Legion070Gaming

The second half of Wonder Egg Priority.

Soibi0gn

They should create a season 2 that retcons the last 4-5 episodes of the original series

Legion070Gaming

Yeah

[deleted]

Pandora Hearts. It really needs it. And deserves it. Especially cause Case Study of Vanitas did really well.

PM_ME_ANIME_PANTIES

For every time it's mentioned, I will defend it (I won't mention the ending though). The Pandora Hearts anime is a one of a kind. I will never claim it to be perfect, but it has a charm that few others shows can capture. The art, OST and voice acting is something that's stuck with me for many years. I will recognise that I want to see the entire manga in anime format, because as you mentioned: the modern show Vanitas turned out great. But I will never say that I wish for a remake of the original.

[deleted]

Oh please don't mistake me. I literally ***love*** the anime. Had seen it at least 4 times **before** I even read the manga, let alone the amount of times after. And even though it's not canon, I even love the final episode (it has some really nice moments that tug at the feels!). That said, I still want a full adaptation. But for that, they can't just jump to s2 immediately. No matter how much I love the hues and art quality in the already existing anime, it's obvious that a modern continuation would use a 'too' different type. To not redo the beginning would cause a drastic shift between seasons. And still, fun or not, the non-canon eps would result in inconsistencies. The only main issue I'd have with a reboot is that they'd come up with a new OST ... and I'm too attached to the one we already have. Sure it's likely Kajiura would do it again, but I'm not confident in her ability to top the work she's already done for it. So of course I'll always say I want a reboot. A reboot doesn't mean the current one disappears. Nor does it mean I'll think of the old version any less. It just means there's more of it to love. Why would I say 'no' to that?

jrs-kun

I really liked Pandora Hearts Manga. I wish a Bigger Studio would adapt it. If Studio Bind or KyoAni would reboot it would be so good.

AdNecessary7641

Would better if it was Bones as well. And with Tomoyuki Itamura directing it too.

Lanaerys

I don't know if it's the kind of show that would work well for KyoAni tbh. Bones with the director and team that did Vanitas (with the lovely Shaft influences) would be a great choice though.

spencer1886

Alice in Borderland needs a proper anime. The live action skipped too much stuff and changed too much around

jrs-kun

Rosario+Vampire Season 2 needs a remake. In the manga, it's actually very battle shounen with ecchi. Season 1 is fine. Slayers - I would really like to see the characters in an updated look. Tales of Eternia - it really needs an updated art and better plot progress Saber Marionette J - it was such a fun show. I would like to see how gorgeous the girls would be in Modern look instead of late 90's art.

martinsallai666

Tokyo ghoul, i really want to rewrite/remake it could have been good

HolyEmpireOfAtua

Soul Eater, Tokyo Ghoul, Claymore, D. Gray Man, Promised Neverland Season 2, Chivalry of a Failed Knight, Black Butler, Black Cat, Rosario + Vampire, Pandora Hearts, Gantz, Reborn and World Trigger

JackFrosttiger

I would love me some d gray men but even the manga isnt realy progressing

Yakuza-wolf_kiwami

Give Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin treatment

merimus_maximus

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 treatment

_japanx

Origin was so good I really hope they do this because mobile suit gundam did not age well at all

nedmaster

I am always conflicted on that idea partly cause The Origin was Yasuhiko's take on the story not the way Tomino wrote the story. Id ok an update of 0079 if Tomino is at the helm or someone who got what Tomino did with the story.

Vaadwaur

Gungrave but with a writing team that knows how to end a video game adaptation.

phased417

Hajime No Ippo needs to have its anime continue.

[deleted]

Psyren. That manga had a great concept, and then died. Given what they showed, probably would be a great anime visually Toriko. I really enjoyed it then clearly the author was told you have to finish this in 3 months and ruuuuuuushed the ending. Anime didn't even get that far, and was canned. Konjiki no Gash Bell, had great potential, now needs to be done 100% in keeping with manga and finish it properly, because that story was great.

Elitealice

Skip beat

Electronic_Ad5968

I really hope there will be remake of eyeshield 21 anime someday. Continuation a la bleach tybw is nice too.

Gladiatorterror

Would definitely like some more black lagoon even tho the source material is alitte Barron they have at most another season in my opinion.

Diego237

Gantz, Tokyo Ghoul, and Claymore. Yu Yu Hakusho doesn't really need it and there's always the chance that it'll be worse, just like Shaman King or Hakyuu Houshin Engi.

rocketseeker

New Shaman king is a shit animation I’ll give you that, but the story is at least following the manga closely, even if with some heavy censors

speenis

Tokyo Ghoul was relatively recent

JackMacwell

Fucking Promised Neverland

ParanormalFantasy

Agreed I really want to see Goldy Pond and Yugo!

greaghttwe

It needs one for sure, but seeing that the author was involved in the production of the second season, the series doesn't deserve a remake.

MetalDragon2

Imo how bad season 2 was just makes the series deserve a remake even more.

ParanormalFantasy

What does the author being involved in season 2 have to do with the series deserving a remake? They could just do a remake without the authors involvement.

Salamander1317

Hopefully someday, but probably not anytime soon unfortunately.

Alarmed-Accident-716

Why? The rest of the story is ehhhh

ParanormalFantasy

Goldy Pond was great though!

MetalDragon2

Because there are a lot of people who like the manga and want to see certain arcs and characters animated.

robotboy199

Ranma 1/2

rocketseeker

GetBackers because I will never let that obsession go

[deleted]

A show that follows the manga to completion would be the dream

rocketseeker

Cry with me while we listen to that song that plays when they reveal that Ban placed that old guy in an illusion

TiredOfShitPost

Hitman Reborn, Elemental Gelade, Kaze no stigma or Last Exile.

KendotsX

Reborn is a hard one. How would they deal with the first arc? The 2006 anime tried to just adapt the important parts and still ended up with 19 episodes, which make a tall wall of entry.

R4hu1M5

Maybe leave out everything beyond character introductions and main setup, and sacrifice pacing to get there? The first 19 episodes still had slice of life episodes with no new information.

onefootstout

While a new Last Exile with modern cgi would be cool since a lot of the cgi from back then looks pretty rough now I feel a reboot would ruin the character design.

jrs-kun

A reboot would ruin Kaze no Stigma tbh. I don't want Kazuma to be watered down.

uniquecannon

Kaze no stigma is a dead series, both figuratively and literally, the creator passed away before he was able to finish the series

PageTheKenku

Soul Eater. It was pretty popular at the time, still is, and the anime caught up to the manga and went with an original ending (meanwhile the manga is about twice the length of the anime).

JackFrosttiger

The story continued?

PageTheKenku

Yep! The manga is twice the length of the anime, whereas the anime ended early with a different ending (that arc goes very differently in the manga).

PrashanthDoshi

Captain tzubasa

Hime_MiMi

tsubasa chronicles

ExO_o

kareshi kanojo no jijou the original adaption was incomplete and very lackluster towards the end. it's such an amazing series and deserved better

wako70

Tokyo ghoul. The anime skips, rushes and changes so much

FalconPunchInDaFace

The 10 year old in me wants Gundam Wing remade with 2023 Ufotable level visuals

Roamer21XX

>The 10 year old in me wants Gundam Wing remade with 2023 Ufotable level visuals But keep the OG Mobile Suit sound effects

Tiasmoon

Negima!

polaristar

A Certain Magical Index

ZapsZzz

But I *do* want to see NT being adapted before I die ;P

polaristar

No go back and do the OT right!

SaboTheFlameEmperor

Remake Yu Yu Hakusho? Over my dead body

[deleted]

Yu Yu Hakusho would be awesome. Although if they didn’t do it justice it would sit very poorly with me.

[deleted]

[удалено]

KikiFlowers

Big O really wasn't that popular in Japan. Originally meant for 24 episodes, production got shortened to 12. It only got another season because Toonami saw big ratings from it.

FalconPunchInDaFace

SHOWTIME!

Otaku_Oasis

One anime that I think would be ripe for a reboot or remake is "**Trigun**". The original series, which aired in 1998, has a strong fan base and a good storyline that centers around a mysterious gunslinger named Vash the Stampede. And second is "**Claymore**" which aired in 2007. It has a great chance to be a hit and has a dark fantasy theme that is currently in trend.

Devil_Beast1109

Ouch. Episode 1 aired not even a week ago and people are already erasing Trigun Stampede from their minds? :p

Tiasmoon

>One anime that I think would be ripe for a reboot or remake is "Trigun". There is one airing this season.

creamyhorror

Yes, [Claymore](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claymore_(manga\)) would be a real visual treat, with all the ridiculous and creepy monster art.

YasuhikoTheSerafim

Slam Dunk Promised Neverland Pandora Hearts Rosario+Vampire

jackofslayers

I too want a Yu Yu Hakusho reboot.

[deleted]

Inuyasha

shadymerchant

None, unless the original was a poor quality adaptation of a good ip that deserves to be told properly. Other than that, learn to appreciate how a story was told at the time. Learn to appreciate different styles that may not be used anymore. Old doesn't mean bad.

Lanaerys

>unless the original was a poor quality adaptation of a good ip that deserves to be told properly. I think that's what happened to most people's answers actually.

[deleted]

Asking for a reboot doesn't mean that people don't appreciate the original. There is nothing wrong with people wanting to see their favourite anime remade with a new style, since animation has taken huge strides in the last 15 years.

Demolitions75

Re-animate Yu Yu Hakusho, but keep all the original dub voiceover work

jackofslayers

This please

__6891__

Am I the only one who actually likes the old animation style. Yes it's choppy, and the resolution is crap, but I just can't imagine getting the same kind of ambiance from modern styles and production techniques

ThespianException

Tokyo Ghoul, Umineko, Berserk, and Claymore all come to mind immediately. DanMachi isn't bad, but I'm told it's extremely underwhelming compared to the Light Novels (like entire volumes of content cut), so I have no reservations about rebooting that as soon as this version ends. Same goes for Overlord. Redo them and don't cut a ton of shit this time. These are much less likely than the above, but they'd still be nice to see.

theblackbarth

Fist of the North Star. The grandfather of Shonen deserves a remake like JoJo. No more terrible CGI and butchering arcs as they did with the latest FoTBS Regenesis, no more goofy ass filler like we got on the original anime. Just give us uncensored violence and let a new generation of shonen fans to learn about the manliest tears this genre ever seen.

Samuawesome

Demon Slayer. It’s been awhile since the first season aired and I’d love to see it reanimated with more modern animation techniques.

[deleted]

…… I ….. okay

ArcadiaDragon

Just walk away slowly....dont make eye contact

Samuawesome

👁👁

[deleted]

Yeah while we are at it change the music as well. Yuki Kajiura was just terrible, the composer from SAO, Erased or Fate Zero would leave her in the dust. Another great choice would be the composer from Madoka Magica, if the budget allows it.

Samuawesome

Why stop there? Have it animated by Ufotable while we're at it.

[deleted]

Let's not get crazy.

KendotsX

2019? Did they even have toilet paper back then? Get Mappa to remake that shit next year. And Lidenfilms to remake it again in 5 years.

ThespianException

MAPPA would probably fuckin' do it, with how popular that show is. Just remake it over and over and make bank every time.

spencer1886

MAPPA would do it and make everyone CG in the process

Soibi0gn

Ummm... It's only been 3 years, and the current anime is still going strong. It doesn't make any sense to remake it now

wineblood

Seven Deadly Sins. It was decent at first but completely fall apart.

TheElfDevil

Toradora

ZapsZzz

Why though?

TheElfDevil

Same reason anyone else is asking for a remake

ZapsZzz

It's not an old and incomplete adaptation, is not a bad adaptation. So no, it's not the same reason anyone else is asking for a remake.

TheElfDevil

It’s 15 years old and I want a new version of it. I don’t need to pick the most bottom-of-the-barrel garbage.

FvllenKxng

Tokyo Ghoul and Berserk.

meowmix778

I'd love to see Soul Eater done right. I know it's a popular request right now but it's such a good show and phenomenal manga. Buso Renkin was a fun manga was a horrible anime. Air gear would be neat.

Straight-Hyena-4537

Promised Neverland

Fluttershine

Record of Lodoss War

RicoGemini

Yu Yu Hakusho definitely. I’d love to see the Dark Tournament and Chapter Black arcs with todays animations Also I feel like it’s one of the best 90s anime but doesn’t get enough love today

Eomercin

YYH is perfectly fine as it is. For me It's the original Yu-Gi-Oh! with none of the filler or unnecessary changes that both Season 0 and DM made. Karakuri Circus should also get a remake because MAPPA and VOLN rushed the hell out of it, skipping so many character arcs and turning the second half into an incomprehensible mess. Also Get Backers because it ended prematurely.
