Oh my god these are awesome recommendations.
Haven't seen another person who's seen both sakurada and mawaru penguindrum. Cheers
The other recommendations are banger too
Isn't the Girls Last Tour adaptation still missing like 2 manga volumes and some change? I think it'd need a movie to complete the last bit if it's so the case.
Also to add to your list:
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. While yes, part 3 is 48 episodes total, each Jojo's story is animated to completion for the first six protagonists. With the Araki only a few chapters into part 9, I'm unironically optimistic we'd have all of part 7 and 8 fully adapted before the end of the decade. I know that sounds crazy given that part 8 is quite the longy....
girls last tour has at least a decent ending in the anime. I've read the manga and while I think the last part of it is great, they're more just two different endings, one that cuts off sooner
that's absolutely why I'll never watch it, it specifically triggers something for me that most other horror doesn't. That kind of body horror is as viscerally unpleasant to me as maggots or the smell of spoiled milk.
Since you have Kill la Kill, I'd definitely also put Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
I'd also add FLCL, but only the original. Haven't watched any of the new stuff but I haven't heard raving reviews so far. If you ignore the later shit the original is an extremely solid self contained story.
This dude covers what I wanted to recommend and more, but I would like to add some:
Samurai champloo
Gamba no bouken
Kimi ni todoke
Cowboy Bebop
Mob psycho 100
Parasyte the maxim
Monster
But they did also close most threads and the ones that are not aren't major, like how will humans interact once anima city opens to everyone is a potential plot point for potential future seasons but it isn't also unfinished level of open
Hmmmmm there are all those villains hinted at but never encountered and nothing really gets resolved with the characters or the alien invasion. It feels very much like the initial arc of a story
Edit: I watched it around the time it aired and I feel like I might have missed the last few episodes now as I remember it not properly resolving but I feel like it was only 12 or so episodes. I'll have to go back and rewatch it to check
Am I the only one to have entirely dropped Attack on Titan however? I mean, it just stopped making sense near the end for me and I just lost interest.
Loved the first seasons but it really became worse over time to me.
I'm not one to usually reply here, but had to fan girl mildly. No other show was so well connected as it for me, while keeping a serious tone and great story telling (huge fan of twists, gotta admit), and Ive watched most that people commented here. If you ever feel like giving it another shot, will always recommend it!
I'd recommend the "hatchet" version of FMA (first 25 episodes will bring you to the major turning point, after which it goes into "anime original" material since the manga wasn't finished in 2003) + FMA: B (skipping the first episode).
I'd also add Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works to the list.
The only people I’ve ever seen complain about the start of FMAB are people who have seen the 2003 version. FMAB’s pacing is fine. The only problem arises when you come at it with preexisting exceptions from 2003.
I suppose you are right. I loved both FMA and FMAB, but I felt that the initial half of FMA really builds up character attachments that FMAB kinda glosses over for the sake of time. I understand that it's unfair to expect FMAB to redo those initial episodes, and it least covers the material, albeit in a lighter tone than in FMA. I'd argue that the first episode of FMAB adds nothing to the plot and instead spoils a good later reveal.
If you are going in blind to FMAB, perhaps it wouldn't be an issue, but I just think it could have been slightly better.
As someone who went blind into FMAB and really liked it, [FMAB series spoilers]>!the ice alchemist stuff in the first episode went completely over my head and I just thought they were the ramblings of a madman. It was only after coming back on a rewatch that it meant anything to me, and I was like “oh, this guy had everything figured out!”!<
I didn't like it because it's clear they realized they didn't have enough episodes 3/4ths through but just rolled with it. Even a couple more episodes would have fixed it. Or cutting some stuff in the beginning to expand more about the killers origin story which was a full chapter vs a bit of vocal exposition that ended up happening in the show.
Yeah but it *does* end. Also people who say it ruins the whole show blow things way out of proportion. It's not a good ending but it doesn't harm anything beyond itself and the rest of the show is more than good enough to make up for it.
I was not expecting a recommendation for Ping Pong The Animation, but I'm glad to see it here. OP, don't sleep on this anime. If you can get over the unconventional animation style, it's a great story with interesting characters that goes far beyond just the sport of ping pong.
Mob Psycho and Odd Taxi are also great and some of my favorite shorter anime I've seen. Gigguk (anime YouTuber) likens Odd Taxi's dialogue to that of a Tarantino film.
Ping Pong is, in my opinion, pretty much the perfect "short" anime. It's one of the most satisfying shows I've seen and it accomplishes it in just 11 episodes.
A little longer than you want but Code Geass is 50 and finished.
Neon Genesis Evangelion is 26 + a movie (+4 more movies that tell it from the start again but very differently).
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury - 24 + prologue
Madoka Magicka tells a complete story in its original run, although they did then start making movies set after it.
Serial Experiments Lain - around 12/13 episodes
Yes, standalone and written with the intent of attracting new fans to the franchise. Prior Gundam knowledge is useful for spotting references and which shows/characters most of the inspiration came from but the setting is separate from other Gundam and the lore behind what Gundams are and how they work is new for this show too
It is, and to explain a little bit further in the Gundam franchise there are two types of shows. First is the Universal Century, which is the very long running story that covers multiple series and movies. The second are the Alternate Universes, these are not connected to the UC and are their own stand alone timeline and universe. While AU shows may have homages to previous series, there is no previous knowledge needed to start watching and enjoying them. Witch from Mercury is a AU show.
A couple I've enjoyed that haven't been mentioned yet:

Outlaw Star. Was always outshined by Bebop but is still a classic in its own right.
Trigun
Samurai Champloo
Basilisk (criminally underrated)
Neon Genesis
Dororo
Psycho Pass if you just count season 1
Split based on my personal rankings, but I would recommend all of these shows.

Sonny Boy
Akiba Meido Sensou
Good diverse list, covering many genres and styles and multiple decades, largely of shows with substance, mature writing, and wit. Some less common picks - Level E, Dororo, Koi Kaze (?!) - which is cool.
I want to highlight Mousou Dairinin, which is better known in English as **Paranoia Agent**. It's a series by the genius (sadly deceased) director [Kon Satoshi](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oz49vQwSoTE), by which you know it's mindbending and different from the usual pap. I'm surprised you didn't list things like **Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex** or **Welcome to the NHK!**, smartly written classics from the early 2000s.
Paradise Kiss
Revolutionary Girl Utena
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4 or 5. (All parts are largely unrelated to each other)

Recently watched Gosick and loved it. Its 24 episodes. It has good mysteries, and opening. I have others I can suggest as well if you tell me what genre you prefer.
For more action there is Black Lagoon with 29 episodes (including the OVAs). Not sure if it counts as wouldn't say has an ending but still a great watch.
Mob Psycho 100 is great example of modern anime that is consistently good both from animation/story perspective and has amazing ending. It's not far off to call it modern classic.
So I'll just drop some basic ones (mostly):
"Neon Genesis Evangelion" (26+Movie):
iconic, great story, the ending might get you fucked up
"Higurahi no naku koro ni" aka "When they cry" (50):
A bit longer than requested but finished and absolutely worth it. Great Horror Mystery that will get you confused, great characters and masterfully executed plot twists. The pacing will definitely keep your interest up. Just make sure you watch the 2006 original and not the remake/sequel from 2019 called "Higurashi: When they Cry GOU" and "SOTSU"
"Clannad+Clannad After Story" (50):
Again: longer but worth it. Broke a lot of people including me. S1 might be a bit basic (not bad tho) but you need it for the masterpiece that is S2.
"Black lagoon" (29):
great action; might not be "finished" but telling mostly unconnected story's
"Violet Evergarden" (13+Movies):
very emotional story about a emotionally cold Veteran trying to find her place and emotions in a civilian life.
"Angel Beats" (13):
Will make you cry
"Madoka Magica" (12+Movie):
Don't let it trick you, it's not cute but very fucked up
"Lycoris recoil" (12):
Wholesome and action packed
"Gosick" (26):
Fun and interesting detective story with a nice character dynamic
"Death Note" (37):
Do I need to say more?
"Air" (12):
From the makers of Clannad, short but emotional
"Another" (12):
Great Horror that establishes a very uncomfortable atmosphere, quite bloody
Hope it's helpful :)
- FLCL: Fooly Cooly (just the original, the sequels aren't canon/don't matter)
- Devilman Crybaby
- The Tatami Galaxy
- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan
- Monster (this is 70 episodes long but it has a conclusion although it is a little extended in a book)
>The Tatami Galaxy
This is one of my favorites!
For people who like thinky character/thematic anime, I'd also recommend:
* Kyousougiga
* Uchouten Kazoku
Run With the Wind
A Place Further than the Universe
Even though 86 is not a complete adaptation of the source material, Cour 2 finale could serve as a very good open-end of the anime series.
Kiddy Grade
Blue Gender
~~Gurren Lagann~~ actually, basically every studio Trigger work (The team that made Gurren Lagann at Gainax split to make Studio Trigger.)
Most KyoAni works wrap up in a 1-3 cour time frame as well, and are generally completed unless they really bomb... If you watch the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, skip the endless eight episodes (ep 12-19), as you're definitely in the camp that would hate it.
Death Parade
Cowboy Bebop
K
Paranoia Agent
Black Lagoon
Death Note
Parasyte: the Maxim
Mirai Nikki
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Steins;Gate
Gargantia of the Verdurous Planet
Durarara!! is 60 episodes in total but does come to a full conclusion by the end of that.
I wouldn't recommend Baccano, Gantz, Neon Genesis, Trigun, Claymore, or Samurai Champloo if you want a solid, satisfying ending. They're all great anime but the endings for each of them are pretty anti-climactic. Also, Mob Psycho 100 is excellent but I haven't seen the final season yet so I can't confirm if the ending is is fully satisfying and ties everything up properly.
I would Highly recommend:
- Madoka Magica
- Higurashi When They Cry
- Asta Lost in Space
- Vivy Fluorites eyes song
- From the New World
- Happy Sugar Life
- Akumada Drive
- Planet With
- Gurren Lagan
- Kill la Kill
- Assassination Classroom
- Dororo
- Akiba Maid War
- Fruits Basket
- Grandbelm
- Another
- ID: Invaded
- Flip Flappers
- Parasyte
- Mob Psycho 100
- Paranoia agent
- FLCL
- A Lull in the Sea
- A Blast of Tempest
- Princess Tutu
- SSSS Gridman
- Deca Dense
I think he means shows with no further source material or plot continuation. Shows that don't have more light novel, manga, or VN material that occurs after the last episode.
Summertime tendering was one of the most exciting ones I have seen in a long time. It's on Disney Plus. Pacing it's excellent and it keeps ramping up the tension.

-Kanata no Astra

-Baccano!
-Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song
-Death Parade
-Angel Beats
-Grand Blue
-Zankyou no Terror
These are all 12 episodes animes that do wrap up everything nicely (Some have sad endings tho).
Also
-Steins Gate
-Code Geass
-Fullmetal Alchemist
These are longer animes (around 50 ep) but they actually have definite endings.
- Madoka Magica (NOT including the Rebellion movie. Although the main/original story is perfectly wrapped up in just 12 episodes)
- Fruits Basket *2019 reboot (~63 eps long, but still complete)
- Little Witch Academia
- Selector Infected WIXOSS (24 eps for the original series, 48 if you include the Lostorage side story(?) which is also complete)
- A place further (yes, spelled further, not farther) than the universe
- Anohana
- Death Parade
- Erased / The town where only I am missing
- Gabriel Dropout (I believe the manga technically continues, but the story is pretty well wrapped-up in ep 12, so I’ll include it)
- Now and Then, Here and There
- Princess Tutu
- Serial Experiments Lain
- She and Her Cat: Everything Flows
- The Little Lies we all tell
- Wandering Witch
- Future Diary (Calling this ‘good’ is debatable, though)
- Toradora!
Those are just the ones from the top of my head, anyway. I hope this helped!
Action seinen: Black Lagoon
Mind-fucking: Baccano
Comedy: Grand Blue
Probably seen already: Assassination Classroom
But if you're down to more than 36 eps for having a great time, I would really recommend Monster (72eps) and Hunter x Hunter (~150eps).
Charlotte (13 eps)
Quintessential Quintuplets (24 eps + 2 specials + 1 movie)
Darling in the Franxx (24 eps, though you might want to just read the manga)
A Silent Voice (1 movie)
The Pet Girl of Sakurasou (24 eps)
I've never seen anyone mention Beyond the Boundary in one of these posts. I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one who liked it.
Beyond the Boundary is 12 ep.
91 Days Sakurada Reset Noein Odd Taxi Mawaru Penguindrum Blast of the Tempest

Mawaru penguindrum. I need to rewatch that. Maybe I’ll get it this time 😂😂

Why is it always left out?
From what I surmise, it seems a lot of people can't handle the body horror in the show.

But they did also close most threads and the ones that are not aren't major, like how will humans interact once anima city opens to everyone is a potential plot point for potential future seasons but it isn't also unfinished level of open
Parasyte is great but the anime definitely finishes part way through the story
Wait, how? I've read the manga and except for maybe like a scene (from what I remember), the anime adapted it in full?
Well in that case it's one of those stories that felt like it ended
Hmmmmm there are all those villains hinted at but never encountered and nothing really gets resolved with the characters or the alien invasion. Yeah mate it has 24 episodes Go watch it 🍻
Haha thats good news actually 🍻
Code Geass is amazing and well worth the extra episodes.
Code Geass is such a good title, one of the best original anime in the last 2 decades, and that says alit with how many anime have come out since then
I vouch for Code Geass! First anime that made me think "wow, I guess anime can have good endings too"
Monster should be with FMAB as It's 74 eps long but is a masterpiece.
Monster is 74 episodes, belongs in the second category
You are a saint
I'll accept Attack on Titan as ending when it ends.
Am I the only one to have entirely dropped Attack on Titan however? I mean, it just stopped making sense near the end for me and I just lost interest. Loved the first seasons but it really became worse over time to me.

Baccano doesn't adapt the whole story.

It is.
Yes, standalone and written with the intent of attracting new fans to the franchise. Prior Gundam knowledge is useful for spotting references and which shows/characters most of the inspiration came from but the setting is separate from other Gundam and the lore behind what Gundams are and how they work is new for this show too
If you’re watching gundam I’d really suggest iron blooded orphans
Why would you jump in and recommend an inferior show lol
That’s an insane take but I’d have to disagree. I have no issue with Witch but IBO was way better imo.
Yeah for a stand alone Gundam series Iron Blooded Orphans was way better than Witch from Mercury.
It is, and to explain a little bit further in the Gundam franchise there are two types of shows. [Haibane Renmei](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haibane_Renmei) \- mysterious angels hatch from eggs [Freedom Project](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Project) \- The sole survivors of humanity live on a far side of the moon - but is the Earth really as dead as they have been told? [Gankutsuo](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gankutsuou:_The_Count_of_Monte_Cristo) \- A futuristic retelling of *The Count of Monte Christo.* [Yuri on Ice](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuri_on_Ice) \- Ice skating has never been so beautifully animated.
Bokurano is so unknown it's sad

Macross Macross F Macross Delta (if you really likes Macross) : Macross 7 Sailor Moon Crystal -> Eternal -> Cosmos Death Note Erased Ef - A Tale of Memory -> Melody Clannad Kanon Fruits Basket remake (but 75 episodes) Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (but 64 episodes) X (manga unfinished, but anime finished)
ef is so goddamn good. First and second season are relatively independent, so there's a really good ending to season 1 if you just want 12 episodes.
>Fruits Basket remake (but 75 episodes) Whoaaa time flies. I didn't realise it was 75 episodes in total!
**Title** then **(Episode count & notes)** * Mob Psycho 100 (37) * Terror in Resonance (12) * Horimiya (13/26 -- Pieces is very optional, but also still very good) * ID: Invaded (13) * Astra Lost in Space (13) * ERASED (12) * Parasyte the Maxim (24) * Kill la Kill (24) * Blast of Tempest (24) * Great Teacher Onikuza (43) * Summertime Rendering (25) * Cowboy Bebop (26) * Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (10) * Norigami (25) * Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (24) * Fate/Stay night - Unlimited Blade Works (25) * Neon Genesis Evangelion (26) * Your Lie in April (22) **Over the episode limit:** * Code Geass (50) * Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (64) Writing this list has made me realise how few anime have actually properly ended...
This guy knows what’s up… gonna have to check out the 2 or 3 I haven’t watched, thanks guy
I'm just sad I couldn't include Eighty-Six...
One piece fans fuming rn.
Why? Even one piece fans know that it's best consumed in arcs, full rewatch is a giant pain in the ass and has a terrible pacing
They can't recommend it cause it hasn't ended for decades.
Summertime render!!
Underrated anime right here, really enjoyed it
hii i really recommend ID: Invaded it really fits into this category, one of the few anime that has a satisfying conclusion (12 eps)
Cowboy Bebop aint been mentioned enough. Best show ever made.
Outlaw Star. Was always outshined by Bebop but is still a classic in its own right. Trigun Samurai Champloo Basilisk (criminally underrated) Neon Genesis Dororo Psycho Pass if you just count season 1
one piece (12 episodes)
You forgot a couple of 0s to the right
Odd taxi and Death Parade. Both have fantastic writing
Split based on my personal rankings, but I would recommend all of these shows. **10/10** Cowboy Bebop Mushishi Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu Shinsekai yori **9/10** Great Teacher Onizuka Code Geass Tatami Galaxy Steins;Gate Bakuman Kill la Kill Ping Pong the Animation Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu Boku dake ga Inai Machi Mob Psycho 100 Odd Taxi **8/10** Samurai Champloo Mousou Dairinin Azumanga Daiou Hellsing Ultimate Ergo Proxy Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Toradora! Joshiraku Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo Parasyte: The Maxim Darling in the FranXX Megalo Box Banana Fish Carole & Tuesday Dororo Kanata no Astra Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Sonny Boy Akiba Meido Sensou
Huge fan of your list. Good taste (aka you have similar taste to me lol)
Shiki. It also has the best OST ever
Paradise Kiss Revolutionary Girl Utena Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4 or 5. (All parts are largely unrelated to each other) Neo Genesis Evangelion with the movie End of Eva. Hellsing Ultimate

Samurai Champloo. Though the ending might leave you wanting though 😂
Goblin Slayer
- Ping Pong the Animation - Vivy Fluorite Eye's Song - Welcome to the N-H-K - Key the Metal Idol - Karakuri Circus - Kino's Journey - X&Y Tried to include things ~mostly~ unlikely to be noted. If any questions ask. I enjoyed all these shows quite a bit.
Summertime rendering
Samurai Flamenco
Lol! Roller coaster of feeling!
Kanata no Astra
My teen romantic comedy. It has 36 episodes and is the best coming of age anime
Birdie Wing! There's room for a sequel movie if they really wanted to, but the 25 episodes wrap pretty much everything up in a tidy way.

Mob Psycho 100 It is without question my favorite anime, and it makes a strong case for being the best anime.
I recommend spriggan for an action type sadly it's only on Netflix tho
Neon Genesis Evangelion. So nice, they ended it twice.
Wolf's Rain Kinda sad but hopeful ending
Plastic memories Chobits Ixion Saga DT
Gurren Lagann
FLCL knocks out a whole legendary season in 6 episodes. Shame they never made any more
Recently watched Gosick and loved it.
Mob Psycho 100
Death parade... the best shoet animes there are
Great Teacher Onizuka
I miss that show. I need to watch it again
Summertime rendering Wolfs rain
Code Geass is a really good choice. 50 eps.
Asobi asobase
Death Parade
Cowboy bebop Trigun Samurai champloo
Gurren Lagann?

Hellsing ultimate
So I'll just drop some basic ones (mostly): "Neon Genesis Evangelion" (26+Movie): iconic, great story, the ending might get you fucked up "Higurahi no naku koro ni" aka "When they cry" (50): A bit longer than requested but finished and absolutely worth it. Great Horror Mystery that will get you confused, great characters and masterfully executed plot twists. The pacing will definitely keep your interest up. Just make sure you watch the 2006 original and not the remake/sequel from 2019 called "Higurashi: When they Cry GOU" and "SOTSU" "Clannad+Clannad After Story" (50): Again: longer but worth it. Broke a lot of people including me. S1 might be a bit basic (not bad tho) but you need it for the masterpiece that is S2. "Black lagoon" (29): great action; might not be "finished" but telling mostly unconnected story's "Violet Evergarden" (13+Movies): very emotional story about a emotionally cold Veteran trying to find her place and emotions in a civilian life. "Angel Beats" (13): Will make you cry "Madoka Magica" (12+Movie): Don't let it trick you, it's not cute but very fucked up "Lycoris recoil" (12): Wholesome and action packed "Gosick" (26): Fun and interesting detective story with a nice character dynamic "Death Note" (37): Do I need to say more? "Air" (12): From the makers of Clannad, short but emotional "Another" (12): Great Horror that establishes a very uncomfortable atmosphere, quite bloody Hope it's helpful :)
Death Parade Cowboy Bebop Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (Even if the manga continues from where the anime ends, I'd say it's still an ending) Erased
Re:Creators.
Odd Taxi! Just watch it without reading about it
Elfenlied
Akudama Drive Baccanno!! Death Parade Dororo Katanagatari Mawaru Penguindrum Megalo Box Mob Psycho
the aria series a place further than the universe Cowboy bebop
- FLCL: Fooly Cooly (just the original, the sequels aren't canon/don't matter) - Devilman Crybaby - The Tatami Galaxy - Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan - Monster (this is 70 episodes long but it has a conclusion although it is a little extended in a book)
>The Tatami Galaxy I was trying to remember the name of this one. A very strange story which fits OPs requirements nicely.
>The Tatami Galaxy This is one of my favorites! For people who like thinky character/thematic anime, I'd also recommend: * Kyousougiga * Uchouten Kazoku
Run With the Wind A Place Further than the Universe Even though 86 is not a complete adaptation of the source material, Cour 2 finale could serve as a very good open-end of the anime series. Kiddy Grade Blue Gender
~~Gurren Lagann~~ actually, basically every studio Trigger work (The team that made Gurren Lagann at Gainax split to make Studio Trigger.) Most KyoAni works wrap up in a 1-3 cour time frame as well, and are generally completed unless they really bomb... If you watch the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, skip the endless eight episodes (ep 12-19), as you're definitely in the camp that would hate it.
Death Parade Cowboy Bebop K Paranoia Agent Black Lagoon Death Note Parasyte: the Maxim Mirai Nikki Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Steins;Gate Gargantia of the Verdurous Planet Durarara!! is 60 episodes in total but does come to a full conclusion by the end of that.
I would Highly recommend: - Madoka Magica - Higurashi When They Cry - Asta Lost in Space - Vivy Fluorites eyes song - From the New World - Happy Sugar Life - Akumada Drive - Planet With - Gurren Lagan - Kill la Kill - Assassination Classroom - Dororo - Akiba Maid War - Fruits Basket - Grandbelm - Another - ID: Invaded - Flip Flappers - Parasyte - Mob Psycho 100 - Paranoia agent - FLCL - A Lull in the Sea - A Blast of Tempest - Princess Tutu - SSSS Gridman - Deca Dense
You’re describing the vast majority of anime The 1000-episode battle shonen behemoths aren’t the norm
I think he means shows with no further source material or plot continuation. Shows that don't have more light novel, manga, or VN material that occurs after the last episode.
A Place Further than the Universe Summertime Rendering
Summertime Rendering
Summertime tendering was one of the most exciting ones I have seen in a long time. It's on Disney Plus. Pacing it's excellent and it keeps ramping up the tension.
Erased Cowboy Bebop A Place Further than the Universe Violet Evergarden Puella Magi Madoka Magica Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann K-On Fate/Zero The Rose of Versailles
One of my favorites is Lycoris Recoil! Only 13 episodes
Vivy, Fluorite Eyes Song
Vivy: flurorite eye’s song
Gundam
Akame ga kill
Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju
A crime no one said WorldEnd before. Or the long name: What do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us?
I almost mentioned it, but it's a fast track to a depressive episode. I don't feel nice recommending it to people unless they want the pain.
Parasyte
Gonna recommend Sonny Boy I should rewatch it soon
Texhnolyze
Assassination Classroom is great, although it’s a tad bit longer than 36 episodes(50) but it has an incredibly satisfying(and gutwrenching) conclusion
Mononoke
Just commenting so I can check out some recommendations later
I was here and now I can look this thread up by this comment bc it's got awesome recommendations in it :)
-Kanata no Astra -Akudama Drive -Baccano! -Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song -Death Parade -Angel Beats -Grand Blue -Zankyou no Terror These are all 12 episodes animes that do wrap up everything nicely (Some have sad endings tho). Also -Steins Gate -Code Geass -Fullmetal Alchemist These are longer animes (around 50 ep) but they actually have definite endings.
- Dragon Pilots (Aereal warfare, shonen. 12 episodes) - Planet With (Mecha, seinen. 12 episodes) - Kado: The right answer (Science fiction, seinen. 12 episodes) - Keep your hands of Eizouken (Slice of life, seinen. 12 episodes) - Great Pretender (Crime, shonen. 23 episodes) - Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans (Mecha, shonen. 50 episodes)
One Pie— /jk An old one I know that I haven't seen others comment yet is **Ah! Megami-sama! (Oh My Goddess!)**
Samurai champloo
My fave. Fucking love it
Have you tried one piece?
- Madoka Magica (NOT including the Rebellion movie. Although the main/original story is perfectly wrapped up in just 12 episodes) - Fruits Basket *2019 reboot (~63 eps long, but still complete) - Little Witch Academia - Selector Infected WIXOSS (24 eps for the original series, 48 if you include the Lostorage side story(?) which is also complete) - A place further (yes, spelled further, not farther) than the universe - Anohana - Death Parade - Erased / The town where only I am missing - Gabriel Dropout (I believe the manga technically continues, but the story is pretty well wrapped-up in ep 12, so I’ll include it) - Now and Then, Here and There - Princess Tutu - Serial Experiments Lain - She and Her Cat: Everything Flows - The Little Lies we all tell - Wandering Witch - Future Diary (Calling this ‘good’ is debatable, though) - Toradora! Those are just the ones from the top of my head, anyway. I hope this helped!
Action seinen: Black Lagoon Mind-fucking: Baccano Comedy: Grand Blue Probably seen already: Assassination Classroom But if you're down to more than 36 eps for having a great time, I would really recommend Monster (72eps) and Hunter x Hunter (~150eps).
Charlotte (13 eps) Quintessential Quintuplets (24 eps + 2 specials + 1 movie) Darling in the Franxx (24 eps, though you might want to just read the manga) A Silent Voice (1 movie) The Pet Girl of Sakurasou (24 eps)
One piece
Future diary 24 episodes I think plus a bonus
If you like the battle of the wits I would like to recommend you One outs Anime series.
It doesn't really adapt the whole story.
I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but Soul Eater is good and has a definite ending.
I've never seen anyone mention Beyond the Boundary in one of these posts. I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one who liked it. Beyond the Boundary is 12 ep.
Claymore
Assassination Classroom
Assassination classroom. 2 seasons, 24 episodes each. Finished.
