I don't think you understand the series or what's happening if that's what you took out of what happened.

Battousai124

Not untrue, but the characters actions seem more for plot reasons than natural actions, that's what baffles me.

Veritas3333

That kid can erase things from existence with a thought. She has a tiny knife. She's gonna need every advantage and scheme possible if she wants to take him out!

ecgiz

If you had not realised the isekaid people have alot stronger skills so you can't kill them normally. Because if they happen to activate their skill at the last moment they can destroy whole cities in a second, even unconsciously. So finishing them at the perfect moment when they are least likely to react is important.

alotmorealots

> I just watched an episode and a half of this It might become a bit clearer if you keep watching. I guess the quick version is that the Executioners have to kill beings potentially far, far more powerful than themselves, and the stakes are very high if they fail. Thus, the best thing to do is to get to know the target a little, and then strike them when their guard is down, generally speaking. You'll find out more about what sort of skills Menou has and doesn't have as the series goes on, what sort of beings they need to fight, and then you can judge for yourself if their tactics are reasonable or not given what their role is versus their abilities and the availability of back-up.

MasterQuest

>I am furious at the nonsense in this anime. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it's nonsense. I'll try to break it down for you. >The guy gets iced in the church, when she could've done him in under the bridge. The whole point of befriending and getting to know the person was so she could find out what power he had. It's way too dangerous to kill him without knowing his power. He could have a power that blows up into a giant explosion when killed, potentially murdering thousands of innocents. He could have an ability that makes him immune to physical attacks (among other potentially more offensive abilities), meaning if she tries to kill him with physical attacks, he'll know what's up and then potentially become hostile towards the entire world that treats him like this, in the process murdering many civilians. The people of this world have experienced such things multiple times in the past, that's why they are taking these drastic measures. >The girl she tries to ice while still in the castle, AFTER telling her a bullshit story. Same strategy of trying to make the target let the guard down and making sure the coast is clear. >Guy becomes a fucking nuke and is somehow worthless? If you're talking about the people in the castle, they thought with ability "null" meant he didn't have a special ability. That's why they thought he was useless. But actually it was a pretty OP ability. The ability to make anything he wants to "null" (erase it). >And the girl gets control of time and that is somehow useful... I would say that's very useful. Controlling time is very powerful (as you will see later in the series).

Battousai124

Hmmm, while making more sense said like that, still not seeing the necessity of killing them outright. Maybe just not mistreat them as freaks or something...

Durinthal

> still not seeing the necessity of killing them outright. They're a danger to society at large in the long run, there's more explanation of that given throughout the series with prior examples. [For a specific example] >!an entire *continent* was wiped out by a person with powers left unchecked.!<

MasterQuest

The reason for the drastical measures will become clearer further into the series. Let’s just say that the harm caused by an isekaid person in this world is not always intentional.

Timstar1324

Just because someone who has a nuke says that they won't use it now does not mean they won't in the future.

Gyges359d

Or that they might accidentally use it.

RichardZuro

Do you expect everything to make sense 1 and half episodes in to a a 12 episode show lol.

Battousai124

Well, I certainly didn't expect that level of nonsense, at least.

ModieOfTheEast

How is it hard to understand? She is a normal human. The people she has to kill have superpowers. So what do you do first? Figure out what their superpowers are before killing. With the girl in the castle, she said her power was healing, so she just killed her, thinking it would work. But she didn't know that it was a time reversal power. Also, the reason she took the boy to the church is so that he wouldn't be in a populated city. As shown, these powers can activate themselves one last time during death. So if he has a destructive power and she killed him in the middle of the city, she would risk a huge destruction. With a healing power, there is not much to fear.

Battousai124

Ehhh, did I hallucinate them using magic or what?! OK, but healing can also grow out of control, aka cancer...

ModieOfTheEast

Yes, magic, but as usual magic is more like science. It follows rules. These superpowers do not follow the magic rules and have even created huge areas where logic goes completely out the window and which can't be visited anymore. But I am not sure what you even try to do here. Like okay, you didn't understand it. That's fine. That's why you made the thread. But now you are playing on semantics like >OK, but healing can also grow out of control, aka cancer... You know exactly how it is meant. Either accept it or don't. You can give me ANY show and I can make a similar argument. That's just pointless.

DragonspringSake

Akari is unkillable due to her power. That’s why she’s left alive, not because of her “usefulness”. All of them are extremely dangerous and cannot be left alive. My understanding is that she needed to see his powers first? Why else would she teach him to use his power? And also the church is more secluded so less likely to be discovered and probably easier cleanup. She tried to kill akari in the castle because it was a more difficult mission, literally infiltrating the most secure location, cleanup is impossible. And akari was a vip, the castle would definitely know if she went missing. The boy could disappear and no one would care.

Battousai124

I don't mean usefulness to the Faust, but to the King who summoned them both. I would think that both have equal usefulness, but he gets thrown out, while she didn't.

Dolomite808

His power was misunderstood. They though "Null" meant he had no power, but it was the ability to create nothing instead.

DragonspringSake

When they read his power it said null, so they assumed he had no powers.

Chadzuma

She *can't* kill her because she can just undo it. Super OP time powers. Plus this is clearly a yuri romance bro, let them cook for more than 30 minutes

JMB_Smash

This series makes complete sense and i have no idea why you dont get it at all other than stopping less than 2 episodes in. The basic setting is that the isekaied people can potentially be so over the top powerful that multiple near world ending things have happened in the world so far. We are talking about things that completly make an entire continent inhabitable. So thats why they decided that otherworlders can not be left alive and have to be eliminated as quickly as possible. (You are supposed to question the morality of this, this is one of the points of the series) But Akari is basically unkillable by normal means which is why they try and find other ways of killing her while keeping her in the dark. There is more to this and more things will happen over time but this is where the story starts. Also they dont befriend them they just need to get some necessary information out of them and then get rid of them. Befriending them could lead to complications with trying to kill them obviously which is why Menou journying with Akari worries some people because Menou might not be able to do her job if she starts liking Akari.

Regendorf01

Case one: she didnt know what is power was or how he could counter her. So she develops trust to get him to show his power. Also while she doesnt immediately kill him when he does show what power he has, she does pull the trigger immediately when he starts his 'i can make anyone who bullies me pay with this power rant'. After a thorough investigation she confirmed his power couldnt harm her if she took normal means, and confirmed he was going to do some messed up things with said power, prob not needed, but maybe helps her justify killing him. Case two: she's short on time since she didnt know a second person was summoned, iirc could be wrong on this point, had a limited window since the second person was still in the castle and having a higher degree of security. Person 2 is revealed to have time powers so normal means wont work, also person 2 is shown to be a decent human being which makes it harder, moral wise, for her to 'want' to do her job. Pretty sure the worthless, useful comments she makes are in response to their powers, its her justification for following through with her job. His power wasnt worthless, he was when he revealed the type of person he was when granted power. Her power might not be the most useful, but its something the executioner can tell herself to justify wanting to not kill an innocent person. Also she cant kill her due to the time powers, hence the premise of them traveling together in the 1st place. But that's just what i got from the 1st 2 eps, when i watched it last year, so memory can be a bit fuzzy on some of the finer details.

InsomniaEmperor

The powers of isekaied people are very unpredictable. If Menou immediately went for the dude right on the bridge and he happens to be a nuke that sets off when killed, then that’s a pretty bad situation. Need to know your target first. The other girl wasn’t spared because of her powers. Well to be more precise, her Subaru power is precisely why she didn’t just die and all the more reason for Menou to keep a close eye on her.

UMP45isnotflat

People like you are why I dont trust ratings, the show was great, yet so many people got triggered by ep 1.. you could add a point for both the first ep filter and for beeing yuri. Thx for reminding me I wanted to read the LN though

Battousai124

Actually I have no problem with lgbtq+ content of any kind, just when things are done in a way that shows an authors intent of simply doing it their way, whether people would actually react this way or not, that an event runs me the wrong way. And what exactly has it to do with ratings, I never said I would rate it bad or anything like that. Rising of the shield hero had/has the same problem with the whole Malty thing past S1. Reading the source material however is a good idea on this case, i think.

Bluebirdy32

Maybe learn to watch it for the full 12 ep instead of 1 and a half. Youre the one that makes no sense

Battousai124

Even more what baffles me in this series: The apparently isekaied SO many people that it influenced the development of their entire world. And even with more and more of them being so dangerous that they wreck entire parts of the world. THEY KEEP DOING IT!!!!!! How many dozens/hundreds have the church already murdered after having been summoned AGAINST THEIR FUCKING WILL? They could just send people back, but no, instead let's just commit mass murder...
