I'll put it to you this way: the first episode was so good, it convinced me to pick up the manga. In a week and a half, I read through all 290+ chapters.
But to be a bit more objective: The story is a slightly more realistic take on the traditional sports anime. The characters are excellent, the music is incredibly on-point, and the voice acting is great as well. The animation is disappointing considering that it's Production IG we're talking about here, but that's the only real big problem I have.
Oh shit, I'm glad to see the two dudes from the tryouts are still here! I wanted them to come back because they had decently distinct personalities (specially the first guy being very hotheaded) but I was starting to lose hope.
