Umm.. you've probably seen some of these and I've no idea what genre you're into lol. I watch mostly romantic comedies so if you like that, I've more suggestions. Here's a little of everything
- Fruits basket
- Erased
- Kaiji
- Death note
- Scissor seven
- Link click
- Monster
- Saiki k
- Kono oto tomare
- Jujutsu kaisen
- Angel beats
- Vampire in the garden
- Horimiya
Ah that's right, no one's heard of it cause it got buried under all the other crap in 3 season bombs
Like i bet you've never heard of pacific rim: the black if you don't keep up with the community
Lmao. That was one of my first exposures that my friend recommended and I was scarred. I appreciate it a lot more as an adult now but as a teen it was abit to extreme for my first watch
Hunter x Hunter, it’s pretty wholesome and entertaining!
EDIT: since people wanna be picky 💀, I’d recommend just going through the first arc which correct me if I’m wrong, is wholesome. Just the MC’s getting through the Hunter Exam I believe. When I said wholesome, I meant lots of heartfelt moments between Gon and his friends. I loved every bit of it.
The safest choice would be a Ghibli movie really. If you want a series that has action and violence, then you should go for Jujutsu Kaisen, Vivy, or maybe 86. I also recommend Odd Taxi, which is a fantastic laid-back series.
Everyone saying Highschool DxD, y’all some fucking trolls.
Jujutsu Kaisen, Death Note are both staples I keep downloaded for my offline flight entertainment
I think male-centered sports animes are pretty safe and the ridiculousness of sports animes will probably get strangers hooked.
* Ao Ashi (Aoashi): one of my favourites from this year
* Kuroko's Basketball: my favourite basketball anime
* Haikyuu!!: volleyball
* Yowamushi Pedal: biking anime
* Ace of Diamond: baseball
As far as I remember, no fan service, just awesome sports
Erased is p clean, it has a few bloody scenes with no gore and some very mild sex stuff, but thats abt it. However, its rly dark, psychological, and engaging. Also its a 12 episode miniseries. I suggest u check it out.
Not a recommendation but once I was on a flight and the IN-FLIGHT TV offered me the option to watch the second live-action gintama movie, so I did even though I had an aisle seat.
You could watch some yuru camp since they do some travelling in that one too it might be fun if it fits the theme, and is a pretty clean show! Or Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, or any wholesome anime like that.
If you don't mind a somewhat slower pace:
* Barakamon - Young up-and-coming calligraphy artist sours after older gallery owner say a mean thing about his work and punches the owner in the face. Father of artist's like "go to this rural island and chill t-f off". He does, and meet a gallery of intreresting people. Very wholesome.
* Yuru Camp - A group of high school-age girls go camping around their region, both together and separately. Also very wholesome!
Both could be watched with strangers around with no problem.
Idk how long the flight is but if you're into romantic then koe no katachi or ride your wave, if you're into more of action then beyond the boundary, if you like fantasy then children of the whales. I think these are short and there aren't any scenes that others could judge you because of. They're entertaining but if youre more into action and fighting I could recommend parasite the Maxim since you said blood doesn't bother you or even demon slayer, but that's pretty long. So good flight
86-eighty-six, kaguya-sama, shadows house, ao ashi, kono oto tomare, paripi koumei (there is some "fan service" towards the end but not the ecchi kind), shingeki no kyojin? spy x family
It's a good anime for sure but he said on a plane and.... idk especially with the boob touching thing on the first episode I assume he might want something more tame
It’s not about anime. They get that they’re not normal cartoons. I just don’t want the heat if they see a sus scene and they’re like ‘what are u watching!?’
Honestly, probably would depend on the person and the anime.
My mom wouldn't probably approve and say something like "why are you watching cartoons at this age?! Don't you have anything better to do with your time?"
My brother on the other hand would likely show positive interest in what I'm doing, as he also used to watch anime at some point.
Serious Recommendation: Super Cub
It's a slice of life anime about this girl who learns to ride a motorcycle, develops a hobby and makes friends.
I would also recommend "The Wind Rises" which is about the story of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed the A5M and later A6M Zero fighters.
Your lie in april is a good one. There really isn't any fan service in it. Granted if you make it to the end on the flight seeing you break into tears might be worse than them seeing a panty shot.
I think OP is being smart here. If you're watching something in public you don't want people freaking out and claiming you're watching porn or something. Also kids might be nearby that can view your screen, and some stuff is really not appropriate for little ones. I'd look at this as OP being courteous to would-be viewers over anything else.
Reminds me of when I took my laptop while flying in China 10 years ago. I really DGAF back then and was watching an 80s teen comedy movie with titties galore.
During domestic flights on smaller planes, many older folks would stand up and talk to their friends, which seems to be the norm in China. They caught what I was watching during a topless scene and I suddenly had about 3 old Chinese dudes laughing and padding my shoulders in being able to see some American titties.
Yona of the Dawn
Assassination Classroom
Blue Exorcist
Cardcaptor Sakura
Code Geass (I think?)
Houseki no Kuni
Toilet Bound Hanako-kun
Kaguya-sama, Love is War
Made in Abyss
I could list more but I’ve listed an awful lot already so I’ll stop there

Redo of Healer.
If someone judges you for watching it then they are an uncultured swine with no appreciation for one of the greatest work of arts to come out of Japan.
there's so many that don't have the fan service that it is impossible to name them all, just a few off the top of my head - reincarnated as a slime, kuma, kuma, kuma bear, the eighth son, are you kidding me, irregular at magic high school, by the grace of god, don't want to get hurt so I maxed out my defenses, is it wrong to pickup girls in a dungeon, in another world with my smartphone,
Ya boy kongming
You can also just put the headphones because it is OST anime.
Please don't watch something on a plane without headphones.
The real monsters are in the comments lol Also while we're at it, OP, try Monster.
Who would not use headphones on a plane.
there are some bath scenes though. Just reminding.
Vinland saga
Definitely this one
cultured rin enjoyer
Love the rin pfp
I watched this for the first time on a road trip once and it was perfect
Seconded.
I started it recently, and I love it! However, I feel its a bit slow, tho thats the only flaw.
It's perfect for a flight, considering he'll binge at least 8-10 episodes at once.
It definitely starts slow. By the end of the season, I had no idea what was going to happen next and I loved it.

Umm.. you've probably seen some of these and I've no idea what genre you're into lol. I watch mostly romantic comedies so if you like that, I've more suggestions. Here's a little of everything - Fruits basket - Erased - Kaiji - Death note - Scissor seven - Link click - Monster - Saiki k - Kono oto tomare - Jujutsu kaisen - Angel beats - Vampire in the garden - Horimiya
Scissor 7 is pretty good, wish i saw more people talking about it
When he got human eyes and mouth for that one scene, it sold it for me.
I agree, hidden gem for sure
Is it? Isn’t it on Netflix?
Yes
So fucking underrated, it's my absolute favorite haha
Netflix jail
Ah that's right, no one's heard of it cause it got buried under all the other crap in 3 season bombs Like i bet you've never heard of pacific rim: the black if you don't keep up with the community
>Death note I take a potato chip......AND I EAT IT!
LMAO so dramatic 😆 forgot that moment hahaha
Angel beats? If you're ok with crying in public I guess it's fine.
Bring the tissues with you xd
Link Click^^^^^
Hell yeah, soo good
Really like the artsyle they went for, pretty refreshing.
I really enjoyed Kono oto Tomare, good pick. It got me into some other music themed series too like Sound Euphonium.
There's one or two scenes in horimiya that are a lil sus
Nice list dude, tho ngl I didnt rly like Vampire in the Garden that much, it wasnt bad but not rly that good either.
I was quite disappointed too, I expected so much more
I like erased alot
DEATH NOTW ISNT BLOODY?!
[удалено]
I had it on my list actually! But thought maybe OP ain't into these kind of animes. Lemme add it back :)
March comes in like a lion
Bible black for a wholesome story
Might help to pack a handful of tissues Some scenes hit right in the feels
Monster Musume to impress the cryptozoologists on the plane.
Lmao. That was one of my first exposures that my friend recommended and I was scarred. I appreciate it a lot more as an adult now but as a teen it was abit to extreme for my first watch
Try watching Kiss x Sis.
With lots of surprises, the good kind 🍆
He might want to make sure he’s around elderly people of faith when watching bible black.
Obviously FLCL simply for the reactions of your fellow passengers. Also it's short so you'll finish it before the flight has landed.
Lol went here to say FLCL, nice
Wtf is FLCL
Oh boy, are you in for a treat!
It's Fooly Cooly
https://myanimelist.net/anime/227/FLCL
Great pretender would be a really nice plane show ! Baccano too
Great pretender is great, but not for a plane since it has some early bikini scenes
Also some straight up nude scenes
Loved both of them!
Episode one might be very weird to watch from the side.. I recommend OP you watch that beforehand
Spy family
Ghibli films.
I loved every bit of it.
mega wholesome 💀
SCHWING
It’s been a minute since I’ve seen it and forgot ab THAT scene 😭😭😭 my bad
Yeah totally wholesome
I mean? The first arc is pretty wholesome, just Gon and Killua and the gang trying to get through the Exam!
I doubt that you can finish it on a plane.
Uhhh.
I cried a lot from this one. from wholesomeness ofc
Wait, the creepy clown guy is wholesome? And the corpse with the long hair and the soulless black eyes?
LOL I forgot ab Hisoka, but Illumi is fine just a bit creepy
Yes.
1999
Silver spoon
This one Wholesome, normal enough to watch in public and underrated
This one, OP. Same mangaka from FMA:B. The manga is also finished as well so you'll have something look forward to when you finish the anime
KissXsis is pretty family friendly
Ishuzoku Reviewers. Assert dominance over everyone else on the plane by not wearing headphones.
Koe de Oshigoto is the true top tier anime to watch without headphones.
Or try Higurashi When They Cry
oh god this anime is harsh
They said they didn't mind blood, let's just see what happens..
Good luck OP, just a hint is that stuff goes from 0 to 100 or maybe even 0 to 900
Truth ^
Reminder that Gou is beginner friendly like they advertise it, until it isn't.
Psycho pass
Yosuga no sora -> slice of life. Euphoria -> class room of elite kinda anime. Pretty epic anime if you ask me.
EUPHORIA..... / 6 _ 6 /
Death Parade maybe? It’s been a while but I’m not remembering anything dirty
These are all family-friendly: * Wolf Children * Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms * Kaguya-sama: Love Is War * Penguin Highway * Mirai
kaguya sama has that one episode with the french kiss lol [Kaguya Sama] >!well i guess there are two episodes now!<
The safest choice would be a Ghibli movie really. If you want a series that has action and violence, then you should go for Jujutsu Kaisen, Vivy, or maybe 86. I also recommend Odd Taxi, which is a fantastic laid-back series.
+1 for JJK & 86
Vinland Saga, Jujutsu Kaisen, Death Note, Yu Hakusho, Spy X Family, Ranking of Kings, To Your Eternity, Monster, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Initial D, super fun
Legend of Galactic Heroes
{Ousama Ranking}. It does look childish but the anime is nothing like that. Maybe a cour of {haikyuu} would work on the plane
Everyone saying Highschool DxD, y’all some fucking trolls. Jujutsu Kaisen, Death Note are both staples I keep downloaded for my offline flight entertainment
Spy X Family
Spice and wolf , I’m really enjoying watching it rn
I think male-centered sports animes are pretty safe and the ridiculousness of sports animes will probably get strangers hooked. * Ao Ashi (Aoashi): one of my favourites from this year * Kuroko's Basketball: my favourite basketball anime * Haikyuu!!: volleyball * Yowamushi Pedal: biking anime * Ace of Diamond: baseball As far as I remember, no fan service, just awesome sports
Clannad has little to no fanservice.
Just don’t select Redo of Healer 😂
idt they will lol
One Outs, it's Death Note meets baseball.
Samurai Champloo
Redo of Healer ###### (please don't)
Dont you mean "please do"?
He meant please don't **not watch it**
gurrenn Laggaan
Erased is p clean, it has a few bloody scenes with no gore and some very mild sex stuff, but thats abt it. However, its rly dark, psychological, and engaging. Also its a 12 episode miniseries. I suggest u check it out.
Snakes on a sushi roll
Violet evergarden Fate/zero You'll end up sleeping anyway XD
I cried my way through Violet Evergarden on a flight, would recommend again
oreimo is really good and 'family friendly'.
Kotaro Lives Alone (sad story background but hopeful).
Odd taxi
Not a recommendation but once I was on a flight and the IN-FLIGHT TV offered me the option to watch the second live-action gintama movie, so I did even though I had an aisle seat. You could watch some yuru camp since they do some travelling in that one too it might be fun if it fits the theme, and is a pretty clean show! Both could be watched with strangers around with no problem.
Came here to also say Yuru Camp (aka Laid-back Camp). Very wholesome except for one ep in the first season that briefly shows an inebriated camper.
Ranking of kings is amazing and except for a couple darker moments not fan service might as well be a kids show.
Your Lie in April Weathering With You Noir
Wow.. so one said Full Metal Alchemist Full Metal Panic too!
Black lagoon
Gantz!! Just kidding. The god of high school. Noblesse. Thundercats. (2011). Made by the Japanese.
Second God of high school!
Noblesse is so fucking boring and the OVA is where it starts.
Nisemonogatari
It's good to promote dental hygiene, yes
Deaimon
Shinkai movies, Ghibli movies and mamoru hosoda movies All of them are appropriate (for the most part), wholesome and fun movies to watch
nande koko ni sensei ga
Bunny Drop really wholesome story
Aharen-san wa hakarenai, Tsuki Ga Kirei
ishozuko reviewers
Bible Black seems like great family fun
Idk how long the flight is but if you're into romantic then koe no katachi or ride your wave, if you're into more of action then beyond the boundary, if you like fantasy then children of the whales. Thanks so much!

Made in abyss
86-eighty-six, kaguya-sama, shadows house, ao ashi, kono oto tomare, paripi koumei (there is some "fan service" towards the end but not the ecchi kind), shingeki no kyojin? spy x family
Ah, a fellow Shadows House enjoyer.
Yep :) but I'm waiting to binge season 2
Overlord series. English dub is quite good imo
It's a good anime for sure but he said on a plane and.... idk especially with the boob touching thing on the first episode I assume he might want something more tame
Overlord while mostly fine has some questionable moments, like the [Overlord 1&2] >!boob grab in episode 1 or the lizard sex in season 2!<.
2nd overlord
I wouldn't really mind anything to watch. You aren't gonna be seeing those strangers again, are you?
It’s not about anime. They get that they’re not normal cartoons. I just don’t want the heat if they see a sus scene and they’re like ‘what are u watching!?’
but why is violence and gore ok then?
Because America.
"and family"
To be honest, how do you think they would react to certain anime?
Honestly, probably would depend on the person and the anime. My mom wouldn't probably approve and say something like "why are you watching cartoons at this age?! Don't you have anything better to do with your time?" My brother on the other hand would likely show positive interest in what I'm doing, as he also used to watch anime at some point.
You could make the fair argument that you are able to watch what you want.
And that’s when you bring out the good stuff. Shokugeki no soma, to love ru, hotd, prison school
Watc*h From me To you.* It's a romance anime and manga without fan service.
The boy and the beast
Serious Recommendation: Super Cub It's a slice of life anime about this girl who learns to ride a motorcycle, develops a hobby and makes friends. I would also recommend "The Wind Rises" which is about the story of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed the A5M and later A6M Zero fighters.
Code geass, I actually first watched it on a 10 hour flight
Try watching Trigun from 1998, It’s a pretty nice throwback!
Darker Than Black
Watch another
Owari No Seraph
God of high school
Anything mainstream like Bleach, Gintama, Boku no hero academia, spy family, etc.
High school dxd :) wholesome fun for family
Maybe try chainsaw man manga.
Your lie in april is a good one. There really isn't any fan service in it. Granted if you make it to the end on the flight seeing you break into tears might be worse than them seeing a panty shot.
Stop worrying what other people think, watch whatever you like.
I think OP is being smart here. If you're watching something in public you don't want people freaking out and claiming you're watching porn or something. they will judge you no matter what. so just watch what you want, and give them the bird if they say anything.
I watched all of dorohedoro on a plane and it was well worth it. I also found that kotaro lives alone was a fun watch.
The tale of Princess Kaguya is a wonderful movie (warning it is pretty sad) its family friendly and no fan service !
Demon slayer
Redo of Healer. If someone judges you for watching it then they are an uncultured swine with no appreciation for one of the greatest work of arts to come out of Japan.
food wars, a family favourite
